In a short time span, Denmark had tragedy and despair but most effected were the royal family with the death of a king, the loss of a father, the betrayal of a brother, a traitorous mother, and a downfall of a son. Hamlet by William Shakespeare illustrates the factors of what a man can go through upon losing a loved one by another loved one. From being depressed and contemplating suicide to plotting revenge and achieving what his father asked from him, Hamlet went through the grieving process unlike most. Getting revenge upon Claudius for his father was the right decision on his behalf. Hamlet is justified on seeking revenge to his uncle due to the fact of Claudius being an enemy of Denmark after killing King Hamlet. He needed to make good of his father’s name by doing the same actions Claudius pulled on his father, “revenge his foul and most unnatural murder” (Act I, Scene 5, line 26). It was now his duty to follow through and accomplish what his dead father asked from him. A few might want to think on the part of why did Hamlet have to do it himself? Couldn’t he have told someone else with a good amount of power such as his mother on what his uncle did?
