On occasion, I get asked the desert island question, ‘If you were stranded on one, what ingredients would you love to have with you?”. Whether the choice is limited to ten, five or three ingredients, butter is always one of them.
Butter is basically fresh cream that is churned to a semi-solid state. It is so versatile; you can use it in savoury and sweet applications. Cream unsalted butter with sugar into fluffy dough loaded with pockets of air to create melt in your mouth cookies. Cut it into flour to form morsels of fat coated in flour that puff up into the flakiest crusts. Nutty brown butter is easily achieved by heating butter in a pot until the milk solids turn to a light hazelnut colour. Go ahead and chill that brown butter then whip

Only three wolves now remain on Michigan’s Isle Royale, down from nine wolves last year, Michigan Technological University reported. This means that one of the most studied wolf packs in the world are in serious danger of extinction. Wolves on Isle Royale in Michigan have fluctuated over the past 50 years going from 11 wolves all the way to 50 in 1980. But now the wolves are at an all time low at only 3 wolves. Isle Royale is a natural habitat that should not be managed by man. Nature should be allowed to take its course, even if it means the loss of the population of wolves of Isle Royale in Michigan.
For our project, we decided to do the Punaluu Black Sand Beach. Punaluu is on the main island of Hawaii. Punaluu Black sand beaches started to form over hundreds or thousands of years. On Hawaii, there is a hot spot underneath it. There is a non-explosive volcano that spills out lava over thousands of years with hundreds of small eruptions each day. A cliff of black igneous rock formed where the lava meets the ocean. Then over many hundred of years, it is slowly eroded away by the big and small waves. When the waves start to erode away the rock on the cliff, it washes rock fragments and basalt onto the beach.

This is the final installment of a series of three reports about the Monarch Divide, a chain of mountains in Kings Canyon National Park.
Salt Spring Island of British Columbia in the nineteenth century, was filled with hatred. For those who were not of White descent they would soon realize that there was a clear separation between the Whites, Blacks, and Aboriginals. This division is crucial to understand as the Whites were the settlers to this area meaning they took over the land and had a great deal of authority. They manipulated the Blacks into following their social and moral regulations, but were incapable of doing the same for the Indians. Consequently, a rivalry occurred since not all Aboriginals could accept being a means to an end for the Whites. In other words, there was a common ideology amongst the Whites that justice must be served to those Indians who decided to disregard the law.

This summer was full of tons of fun activities and places! I went to Tennessee, Mackinac Island, the lake, and went camping. I also did other things like shopping, the fair, the movies, and cheer camp! Something very big that happened this summer is that I became a big sister! Even though becoming a big sister is very memorable, my favorite part of summer was going Mackinac Island and I have so many great memories there that I can’t wait to tell you about!
