San Luis Obispo is known for many things, such as the giant rolling hills, Thursday downtown farmer’s markets, and the college that dominates this place, but one major part of the culture here that is often overlooked is surfing. No matter where one is on campus, they will see people headed off to the beach with their board in hand, or headed to Poly Escapes to rent one. I have only been surfing a handful of times in my life, which is why I chose to analyze a surf shop; I have always been fascinated by the huge obsession with surfing that is present. When meeting people for the first time here, it is almost inevitable to get asked if one surfs because it is becoming the norm, which is something that I am not used to, coming from …show more content…
Speaking to his son and veteran employee, Luke Adler, I was told about Moondoggies history of being a family run business. He said, “I also think it represents like a family owned and operated company that like even though bigger companies are coming in and taking over San Luis. there is still local companies around that are family owned and I think it 's really cool that we have been around for like thirty two - thirty three years.” The store came to be over thirty years ago in 1986, which appeals to it’s credibility as it is longstanding and therefore well known as a part of the community in San Luis Obispo. One very important part of the ethos at the shop is the interior design. Everything is within it’s own section, which creates an organized environment so one can find exactly what they are looking for. The walls are also lined with surfing memorabilia and show the high quality brands that the store carries, such as Aleutian Juice and Lost surfboards. Aleutian Juice boards, by local Dave Parmenter, are quite special, which Luke explained to me, saying “I am actually a huge fan of the aleutian juice just because I grew up riding those boards. He is a local shaper from around here…Where as some of the bigger board companies are a lot more machine made, and his are all handmade. So, for that reason I think it is one of the more
There is a towing company in central florida that does something similar on the beach boardwalks, they put the signs up facing AWAY from the lot so you can't see them until you actually get out of your car and go to the beach, and they will have an employee in plain clothes and a binocolar calling the towing truck so by the time you go to move your car, it's already loaded up and there's "nothing they can do" so you have to pay hundreds of dollars to get your car back. It's basically extortion, its terrible.
The Night At The Surf shop On February 2,2017 at 11:42 pm a bloody, brutal murder case happened in the Swimming summer Surf shop at Cory Plum's residence. Cory Plum had a purple coat and purple hair. The witnesses Mrs. Betty White has spoken that he glanced mysterious and cruel. Rosy Scarlet was working that day at the Surf shop. Rosy Scarlet had on a Blood colored red dress, rosy red shoes, and Scarlet red lipstick. A few weeks back Rosy Scarlet said to Cory Plum that "why do you keep taking my 10k gold ring's." She declared very angrily! After that, she said, " if you don’t stop I'm taking my ring and leaving."
Sitting on my board with my feet in the sand, I look out at the ocean and take in the smell of the salty air that has always reminded me of home. What I’d do to have Pops here, giving me some guidance. Memphis ears perk up and his head cocks to the side, as her voice calls out to us, “A surfing cowboy, now I’ve seen everything!” She
Bywater is a professor at Dixie State University, He teaches expository english and has his way of doing so. On every Tuesday of the semester a printed draft is to be brought into class for class evaluation and on Thursday the final draft is due. On Thursday Bywater gives the topic for the next paper. He teaches based on The Rules of Thumb 9th edition, a book written by Jay Silverman, Elaine Hughes, and Diana Wienbroer. He urges his students to use sentence level structuring. Sentence level structuring includes level one, two, and three sentences. These sentence levels make up the compound, complex, and complex-compound sentences. The way the paper should be set up is introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusions. Conclusions should give a sense of closure. Slowly but surely Bywater hands out sheets that give instruction based on the week's assigned paper. He encourages students to following a checklist, avoiding MLA , and he also prefers that the students tell the main story of the paper in the introduction.
The first thing you do to fix a facility is to evaluate it it and see what potential changes need to be made. But, between evaluating and actually making changes, the facility needs to be assessed to determine specific needs based on the needs of the athletes and the teams that use the SURF. It is important to assess the needs of the SURF and the people who use the SURF before any decisions are made because they are the people who use the equipment and know what changes need to be made.

It is hard to find a more picturesque, relaxing warm and friendly vacation destination than Hawaii.
My friends and I had taken a weekend trip to Orange Beach. We decided to stay in a condo for the entire weekend. The day that we were going to Orange Beach my friend Hasan was graduating from Madison Central High School in 2015, and he was getting his parents to drive him to Orange Beach so that he could hang out with us for the weekend. We did multiple events such as driving down to Orange Beach and back home, going to the beach, biking, waiting for dinner, living in a condo, and celebrating a friend graduating High School. The events on this trip had many fun and horrific event happen in them. This may be a reason why a person does not take a high school graduate.
I wouldn't classify myself as a great surfer, but I'd been riding pretty regularly since fourteen and once I got my driver's license, regularly turned into a lot. Nonetheless, the swell that day at Rincon humbled me and I wasn't alone. There must have been close to sixty hopefuls perched atop the cliff overlooking the bay trying to muster enough courage to paddle out. Only three brave souls had had the courage to defy mother nature.
If you were to adventure around the world and ask anyone to describe what they see when they hear the word “surfing” they would respond with similar answers. The average surfing adventure is pictured with the sun shining, the wide-open beach, the large waves crashing, and the beautiful women chilling in the sand watching their man ride. Unfortunately, they got that last part wrong, for the women in the surf documentary “It Ain’t Pretty” are definitely not cheerleaders. They live for adventure, its the thrill, the danger, the adrenaline rush, it makes life worth living.

I walked along the beach. As I was walking I could feel the fresh smell of the beach like it was an air freshener but it also smelled that gave me a tingle in my nose. As I kept walking along the beach I could feel the light breeze coming against me. This fresh air felt warm as I felt like I was sleeping in a comfortable bed. I kept walking in the beach, as I did it felt like an escape to all my problems and also my stress. Beach felt like a solution to all my problems and could be open with anything.
Just as I sit down on the sand my mind starts to unwind. The many spectacular sights jump at my eyes. As far as I can see there is turquoise water in front of me. Surfers wearing their bright colored suits grab their
The warm breeze of the ocean air flies past my face. The heat of the yellow sun was sizzling, beating down against my skin, tanning and burning it within seconds. Beach goers were crowded around in all directions. Seagulls gliding past the groups of people, scouting for dropped or forgotten food to eat. Their little footprints marking a trail in the sand all over the place, going in a million different directions, searching for their next meal. I take in the exquisiteness of it all, the blue-green waves crashing into the sandy shore, making white foam and bubbles wash into the sea, little boys and girls that are digging in the bright white sand running away from the small waves before they get wet. The beach is a stunning place to be; there's just something about the ocean waves and the sand between my toes that makes me just want to stay there forever.
