Debbi Field is the American dream when it comes to what she has accomplished in life.
Her story caught my attention because of the dedication and effort she had. Mentally She endured constant challenges on her path to become the leader she is today. Her leadership style is a direct reflection of the obstacles she overcame on her way to her destiny. The articles below describe her as a hard work leader who believes that despite the odds she can succeed (Kane 2012). This is proven by her consistent pursuit of a loan when banks continuously told her no; her determination to move forward when her husband’s boss belittled her and even to not give up when her husband told her she wouldn’t sale 50 dollar worth of cookies. Despite the obstacles, she went on to get a loan, she is now a motivational speaker and her cookies are now worldwide.

She lacked a lot of things that many experts would call essential to leadership but was very effective in emotional leadership. When her cookies didn’t sale the first day she opened the doors of her business, she went to the streets and made 25 dollar more than expected. In recent years Emotional Intelligence has proved to be a key instrument in measuring leaders’ effectiveness in their roles, it has also been used as a tool to help them improve their leadership skills.
