The DC Public Library has many gaps; however the one that seems to be a problem is communication, staff & technology. Staff needs better communication and more training to be up to date with technology as it surges forward. A rapidly changing information service environment are pushing libraries to think of new ways of how to provide better information services to their users. Technology seems to be the biggest informational Gap; those Librarians must be equipped with the necessary skills to provide better reference help to library users. SMART is a new way to keep libraries in track of learning new goals and reinforcing what they learn to managers, colleagues and library users. SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound

The Rehoboth Beach Public Library was established by local service organization the Village Improvement Association (VIA) in 1912 in order to provide free access to books for the community. In its early years the library moved between VIA member’s homes and public spaces. The library quickly grew, and by 1915 had a collection of 600 books with 233 borrowers. In June 1942 the State Library Commission designated space for the library at City Hall where it remained for 43 years. VIA members served as librarians until 1968 when the first professional librarian was hired. In 1985, the library relocated to Rehoboth Avenue, where it has remained since.
Besides being entranced with the golden dome, “touchdown Jesus” also found a place in my heart. The Hesburgh Library is one of the most beautiful buildings on campus. It is appropriately named as well. Fr. Hesburgh was an influential leader on campus and throughout the world; he was an advocate for peace rather than violence. Under his tenure, the first female class was admitted into the university, and after serving as president, he was able to witness the first African-American valedictorian. I am sure a dream of Fr. Hesburgh was fulfilled on that spring day. Even after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed, he continued to fight for equality in housing, employment, and higher education for minorities. Hesburgh’s attitude toward equality
Founded in 1764, St. Louis Missouri is home to many diverse groups, businesses, and corporations. Post American Civil War, local immigration and industrialization contributed to increasing populations. In terms of racial demographics, the majority ethnic backgrounds in St. Louis approximately include Whites, African Americans/Blacks, Latinos/Hispanics, and Asians. Similar to NYC, immigrants and refugees of war settled in St. Louis and created their own subculture. In the early 1990’s after the Bosnian War, more than forty thousand refugees arrived and established St. Louis as the largest Bosnian community aside from their home country of course.
The Detroit Public Library is the largest library system in Michigan by volumes held and is the 20th largest in the United States. Designed by Cass Gilbert, the Detroit Public Library was constructed with Vermont marble and serpentine Italian marble trim in an Italian Renaissance style. The first branch library opened in 1897 and in 1095 it was turned over to the Detroit Library Commission. Additional branches opened shortly afterwards, including the Old Main building of Wayne State University. In 1910 Andrew Carnegie donated funds to the

Kent State University (KSU) is a college campus in Kent, Ohio that has over 28,000 students enrolled, many who enjoy the various restaurants throughout downtown Kent. Team 2, as students of KSU, have noticed a lack of information regarding drink specials, menus and prices at bars in or near KSU and saw the benefits of the availability of such information. Our team has requested the feedback of other KSU students, using both a Google Forms Survey and face-to-face interviews, and the feedback of bar managers, via face-to-face interviews, to collect information on their various opinions of how, if, and why bars market this information to students. This survey yielded 51 responses and 5 different bar managers agreed to interview with us at
I do not understand why we would control who could attend a community college in the first place. The community college is a resource that serves communities and the four-year university system in many different ways, from continuing education to general education classes community colleges cater to the needs of every student to a degree. To think about limiting this resource is to deny someone an education and that is not how the U.S. was founded. Granted we are working towards free higher education through programs like the Tennessee Promise, but college is obtainable for the most part through financial resources that students have available. College is often times a barrier enough for students, but to begin limiting it to certain groups
Why is there so many unnecessary rules at Northwestern High School. For example, we should be able to have other drinks then just water. Also we should be able to go get lunch outside of school. In conclusion it is my hope that the school will make some changes to their roles.
Why Western? When I went to the preview day at Western I was shocked. The event was so welcoming and informative. It made me realize this school was the right school for me. I must admit before the preview day, I was unsure if the school provided me with what I needed and was looking for. However the school was beyond what I could have imagined. The city of Gunnison was just how I remembered it. The program was even better than what I expected and everything my cousin had told me about the school was true.
In the years lasting from 1964 to 1970, Harold Wilson and his Labour government were in power in Britain. Wilson became the first Labour Prime Minister in about 12 years in 1964. He was re-elected in 1966 but was beaten by Edward Heath in the 1970 election. During this period, Britain went through many changes, particularly in the areas of social reform, foreign policy and economy. The Labour party also went through some changes of its own, as divisions began to arise. One view on this era is that Labour was pushing the country into a total decline which it would not be able to get out of.
