Cristina: 1. Cristina arrived at meetings on time and always contributed to team discussions. She had great ideas for our presentation and voiced her opinion in respectful and effective ways. Cristina also provided excellent feedback for each team member as we individually presented our part of the presentation to the group. She also stepped up to end our presentation as we were not sure which one of us should conclude it. 2. Cristina’s computer was not saving her information in the PowerPoint, so she was not always prepared. Even though it is not her fault that this occurred, she was not always prepared for meetings or prepared to practice her part to us. Cristina also lacked confidence during her presentation. Hopefully Cristina will gain …show more content…
David is an excellent listener. If we have a question for him or if we want to clarify something, he is very respectful and allows us to speak and hear what we have to say. He also did most of his work on time and contributed his ideas to our group discussions. He also voices his opinion to the group and helps us work out disagreements. 2. David is very soft spoken and needs to work on his presentation skills. He did great research and worked hard on his part of the presentation, however he must practice his public speaking. David looked down and spoke softly during the presentation as I believe his nerves got the better of him. If he practices more and controls his nerves, he will deliver a great presentation. Jeremiah 1. Jeremiah contributed to our discussions and helped us make decisions regarding our presentation. He is not afraid to speak up and critique us, yet he will respectfully listen to our comments and ideas. Jeremiah also does not take it personally if we critique him or disagree with some of his ideas. Most of his research was done on time and he also helped edit our …show more content…
Jeremiah was late to two of our meetings which held us back from starting our meetings on time. Jeremiah also needs to work on his presentation skills. While he knew his part, he lacked confidence and enthusiasm during the presentation. If he shows up on time and delivers our next presentation with confidence, he will be a huge asset to our team. Wendy 1. Wendy is so creative. She is amazing with PowerPoint and helped us figure out how to make graphs and format the PowerPoint effectively. She created the banner for the top of our PowerPoint which tied the whole presentation together and made it unique. She did all of her research on time and was always prepared for meetings. 2. Wendy’s biggest downfall is her nerves. She is a very quiet person and did not deliver her best presentation possible because she was nervous. Next time, if Wendy works a few extra days in advance on her presentation skills and is not afraid to get out of her comfort zone, she will deliver an amazing
Lastly, Sally did an excellent jJob at communicating with her patients. She could explain the procedure in technical terms but also make it understandable to the patient. She was very good at explaining the procedure to them without belittling them. I am very good at understanding procedures on a technical level but then simplifying them to make them more understandable both to others and myself.
“She’s one of the most hard-working, dedicated employees we have on staff,” she said. “She consistently goes above and beyond.”
David is Incredible, Amazing, Remarkable, Hilarious and Amusing. He loves to talk to people he gets along with mostly everyone. The people that knows him like him for his personality he is such a great friend and adviser he gives great advice. The advice that he always give people the most is “Don’t get attached to anybody because you can’t hurt yourself and will not be able to move on fast”. Although David is not always in the mood to talk to anybody when people need him he is always there.
Dickinson’s presentation, was his pace at which he gave information. He did a great job not rushing through information, but at the same time he did not drag any slides on, it was a great speed for listening and taking notes. I also liked how knowledgeable Mr. Dickinson seemed to be about his topic. He never stumbled trying to find answers, he was calm the entire time and seemed like he understood his topic well. One thing that stood out to me that could need some improving is the order in which the slides were presented. I would’ve liked if instead of combining work setting and impact of care, if work setting and role of the Pharmacist would’ve been combined instead. This would’ve helped to understand what the Pharmacist does before how it impacts the patient. By doing this, another advantage is the splitting up of the slides with roles of the Pharmacist and the Pharmacist's responsibilities. With these two topics together into one slide, it made it a little difficult to understand which of the two you were referencing when giving points. Other than the order of the slides, the presentation was great. I enjoyed listening and learning to all the solid information that was given throughout and in summary Mr. Dickinson did a great job on this
* David is also good in building mutual connection with his team members as exemplified by his “student-teacher” relationship with Stephanie.
Darrean was a strong and continuously active group member throughout both course assignments. Darrean was always at group meetings, and thoroughly contributed. In not only completing his assigned tasks before deadlines, he was always able to help others when needing assistance, or when items needed to be reviewed. Darrean continued to take on a large leadership role throughout the final project. In sharing his knowledge of global development, he was a great resource for the social and community aspect of the project, and we considered many elements that I don’t think we would have if it weren’t for him. Darrean always offered to edit, and created a positive moral within the team.
Within the first few minutes of Karen Morris entering the lecture hall I knew her presentation would be interesting, and one that would be hard not to pay attention to. I thought she picked a great topic to present on, I found the stories of the different cases incredibly interesting, and even humorous at some points. I felt that she kept everyone's attention throughout the presentation by the way she presented the information, she was not only loud but you could tell she wanted to be there and wanted to share these cases with us.
The audience(Players) were able to understand her points because she gave us examples that happened in the games. She also incorporated us by asking us to think of examples in the games we played that these 3 points could be worked on. Her speech involved a lot of group discussions, but she also took the stand on many points to explain how these 3 main points need to be worked on for the future games. The conclusion of the speech was very effective because she brought everything back together. She demonstrated how without communication we lack aggression and without aggression we lack confidence. As a team we felt it was very effective to sit down and discuss these points because we identified things we didn’t see as a whole. We felt that as a speaker she took the time to observe what we did not as players and showed us what we were lacking as a team. The speakers use of language was very important to the way she was communicating with us. She did not use a violent or angry tone with us and this helped very much. She would use a voice that grabbed our attention because she would get excited about a great play we made and lower her tone if she felt that there was a situation that could be worked on. An effective use of language is very critical in a speech because it could be the one way they grab their audience attention. Everything that coach Bartlett said was very understandable and encouraging
As a group we choose the factory worker Norma because she demonstrates perseverance by working hard to better her life after dropping out of high school. She has received praise for her hard work and has been awarded “Employee of the Year” four times. Norma also demonstrates leadership as she is the leader of her local union chapter.
Furthermore, we had to overcome obstacles during the creation of this presentation. How we would display the layout of the presentation became the issue. Instead of critically thinking about what way the presentation would make more sense, I felt like we randomly selected the order of the elements. In this aspect I think I fell short, as an individual, about speaking out on the fact that we should have carefully picked the order. As a group I think we fell short on caring about the order, because our main focus was on getting the information on the PowerPoint slides. The whole
To analyse the presentation and teamwork I need to be able to understand everyone has different experiences and different ways of working and had their own view on teamwork. My confidence grew as I got to know the team. Giving the presentation has helped me with my confidence, which I will need when I am working in the health care. I have also learned to speak up more and encourage others to take part when they where being quiet and not pulling their weight. It was good to do research using the appropriate methods, looking at journals and professional sites. I managed to hold it together during the presentation in front of everyone. I knew the presentation was not going to go as well has it could due to the lack of practice. The reason I was so nervous was
Voice: due to the space of the presentation location some participants who were sitting at the back or in the corner areas are unable to hear my presentation clearly. I will arrange some audio equipment next time when I need to provide the presentation in a similar location.
What were the strengths and weaknesses of the introduction? How did you gain the audience’s attention?
It include able to speak in a loud, clear voice, look at the audience (mostly), feeling confident, and able to be myself. As for working on the presentation, I was able to make every sentence easy to read with no grammar mistakes, make the presentation’s background look just right, able to finish my part of the work as soon as possible, and making sure that every information that were supposed to be there would be there. However, there were some weaknesses that I have noticed during when I am working on the presentation and presenting it. It include making it look “perfect,” looking at my notes when presenting, feeling nervous, and getting
Michelle was excellent at communicating and keeping the project on schedule. She provided the most beneficial information and asked probing questions to get us thinking about our interpretations. Abigail provided strong arguments and provided examples that contributed to the overall content of the area. Melissa provided us with paperwork from her cooperating teacher about her referral process that contributed to who was involved and how. In a group project setting, I believe my strengths are keeping the project organized and assessing the appropriate tools and technology that will best fit the needs of our group. For future teams it is important to manage your time wisely, assign tasks and jobs, communicate, and keep and open mind. We learn best when we learn from each
