Many people say that dance is something very easy. I have been told many times that dance is extremely easy and they don't know why we make such a big deal over it. If dance were easy everyone could do it! It takes skills, choreography, and nerve. Remembering a routine is hard work! Especially when you have 5 or more routines to remember and perform. One of the hardest things to remember are counts and timing! When each moment, skill, and kick are on different counts, it makes it difficult! While in a routine you will have different spacing, potions, and directions. You also will have partner changes and group routines. Group routines are the most fun. There is something about remembering routines with the people I love the most that makes me feel at home. Another thing that makes dance hard are all the different skills. One kind of skill and my favorite are Pirouettes. They are particularly hard to some people, but I love the challenge. Pirouettes require a lot of core and leg work, as do most skills. They are a type of spin or turn, Being a beautiful movement Pirouettes are so much fun! It is fairly …show more content…
You have so many costume changes if you are in different numbers! Though it is fun to run around backstage and get ready, you must never be late on stage for your performance! At performances you get to wear make up. For some numbers you get to wear special make up and costume make up. It takes time to put all the make up on though. If you mess it up you must start all over because you cannot look horrible. Hair is an important when it comes to any performance. If your hair is not extremely perfect you could get points taken off it it is a competition! Crowds and stages are scary too! If the crowd does not like your routine then they might be very bored with it! Stages are bad also! If you do not know the stage area well then you might be late to a performance! Dancing is still a passion and it will always be a part of
Dance has been around for a long time, it is older than many other popular sports we have. It takes on the physical capacity to be labeled as a sport, and yet in most cases, it is not. It is one of the few activities that is both a sport and an art, but it is given very little respect as a sport. Dance has evolved in a number of ways throughout time, but it has always been through a meaning. Whether that be dancing for love or faith, or dancing for first place.
The first reason is that dance improves memory by learning choreography from many different classes. Doctors have been trying for decades to find innovative ways to slow the cognitive decline seen in older adults. Aga Burzynska, assistant professor of human development at Colorado State University, wondered whether keeping them active would slow memory loss.
Dancing is a recreational activity that has been enjoyed by millions of people for centuries. There have been countless styles of dance and thousands of memorized steps that have been performed in front of people or even just simply enjoyed alone without and audience. When a handful those thousands of steps come together, it creates a routine. Even though there are countless dancers that are breathtaking when they perform the routine in front of and audience, most dancers cannot be proficient without someone to assemble those countless steps together to create something awe inspiring, beautiful, and entertaining to watch. Dance is a world of constant change due to the want of awe, the need to produce something unique, and the necessity to catch the audience’s attention. Although many people believe some dance styles have not changed for centuries, innovative choreographers flip dance styles upside down with their unique approaches.
Dance demands the same physical skills that are required in other sports. Flexibility, strength, and endurance are key characteristics that most dancers need to posses. As with other “athletes,” most dancers are not born with these abilities but must establish them through practice and repetitive training. Similar to traditional sports practices, dance rehearsals are extensive and require diligence, dedication, and patience from the dancers as they will have to repeat exercises and stretches to perfect their technique and stay on
This chapter of People’s is titled “Unreported.” Reading the title of this chapter, I was unsure what the chapter was going to contain, but once I started reading, I did not like this chapter very much. The main topic of the chapter is that the government has a lot of ties with the media and in turn, the government controls what the media puts out to benefit themselves. In my opinion there is no way to prove that the government is manipulating the media. Obviously, I am not in the White House and I don’t know exactly what goes on behind the scenes, but I think there are a lot of assumptions made in this chapter.
Dance is one of the major things that defines my identity and it is an interest that had become so meaningful, that without it my application would be incomplete. This has been able to shape me throughout the years, from discipline and maturity all the way yo leadership and teamwork. I find dance as an art work, that it is easy to make mistakes and fall, you just have to learn from those mistakes and get up twice as strong as from where you started. Dance is to look above and beyond and just let everything fall into place without hesitation.
Many people consider activities such as, football, baseball, volleyball, and track to be a sport. The qualities that tend to make these activities considered sports are, running, tackling, hitting a ball, participating in relays, and so much more. Not mentioned in this list of sports is dance. People tend to believe that dance is nothing more than moving your body to some music, it is also very mentally engaging as well as being a physically demanding activity. The question that many might ask: Why is dance not classified as a sport? Dancers that compete in competitive situations do not get off as easily as people may think. These dancers require countless hours of exercising, training, and stretching, just as much, if not more, than other sports. To perfect the art of dancing comes with years of training and dedication. With this explanation of the art of dancing, it can be concluded that dance is in fact a sport.
Q1.How has Embraer managed to succeed as a global competitor from within the confines of an emerging economy? Advantages and disadvantages Embraer has derived from the Brazilian context.
a) Many ask, “How can dance be a sport? You can't judge on time and the scoring is subjective!” Just like figure skaters, competitive dancers are judged on many criteria: technique, posture, timing, line, hold, poise, togetherness, expression, presentation, power, and foot or leg action. Dancers have a lot on their minds while performing. They are constantly asking themselves, am I extending correctly? Is my technique right? Is my head facing the right direction?
Ever wondered what it would be like to leap through life, twirl right through, as if the world has completely stopped around you? To be able to pause everything in a silence that allows you to hear your own heartbeat? The silence on stage as you perform is a sense of peace within your inner body that is being channeled through a movement of effortless motion. In European history, dance was considered to be a way of celebration for many cultures. Although it was said that dance did require physical agility, dancers were never considered athletes because the movement was not taken seriously. Dance did not become popular in a more skillful way until later on. The debate of dance as a sport is very
Even if you are not the most advanced dancer you still need to try just as hard, maybe even harder. If you put full effort into it, you will be successful, That goes for every sport.
Have you ever heard dance talked about on the big sports channels announcing that a team won the regionals competition, or that they are advancing to Nationals? No, because many do not think about the competitive aspect of dance, they only think about the stereotypical ballerinas. Usually the only accounts of dance that people witness is at halftime during a game. Dance does not have a weekly event scheduled for it like soccer, basketball, or other high school or college sports teams, which is another reason why many don't see it as a sport. The only events that dance has is big competitions that usually happen on the weekends. In dance, you can compete against large groups, duets, or even soloist. They also do not think about the time and hard work that is put into the sport. Dance requires strength, endurance, and coordination. It takes a lot of practice to be a strong dancer, just as it would in any other
I scored a 37 on the AACN Essentials Self-Assessment. I know that I have a lot learning to do in the nursing field despite being a nurse for 10 years. Essential II: Basic Organizational and Systems Leadership for Quality Care and Patient Safety is an area where I feel pretty confident in with regards to leadership concepts, skills and decision making. I feel my supervisory skills improved when I became part of the management team at work. Demonstrating leadership and communication skills are important when providing optimal quality care for the patients. I understand and recognize that care not only involves the patient but the interdisciplinary team along with families, communities, and populations. I am not very familiar
Have you ever watched the Nutcracker as a ballet? Or seen a professional dancer dance? You probably thought of some of the things that they did were effortless. The truth is, it isn’t what you think. Dancers go through pain, stress, and shoes (Seriously!) to do what they do. There are a lot of people that think that dancing is easy, and I am here to set that straight. Let me start off by talking about the pain.
It makes you work harder and go above and beyond giving one-hundred and ten percent every single class, so when you dance in front of the judges they will only have positive feedback to give. At the age of seven, I was just a little girl when I was asked to join my studios dance competition team. Not knowing what this team was all about at such a young age, I accepted the challenge to join such a strong team, who ended up becoming family, made of all ages that the only thing that connected us together is our love for dance. With all of the nights where I just wanted to break down and quit the team, I realized that I would not be letting myself down, but the others around me. The reasons I kept on dancing through all those rough patches in my life is because I was taught from my teachers that if you give up on yourself and just not give the amount of energy you once did before you are damaging your teammates. Realizing that throughout life you will always have to work with someone or for someone you might disagree with. But when you feel like giving up, you give up on that person as well, leaving them abandoned. Leaving someone high and dry is not what a person should do in life because you would never want to
