The United States and its allied partners have made good progress in their efforts to control terrorist activities in many parts of the globe, but these efforts can only yield results if the substantial funding sources of Da'esh and similar groups aren't curbed immediately. They must focus efforts on adopting proactive measures that curb the market of looted and stolen antiquities and artifacts by terrorist organizations. Blood antiquities serve as a major means of funding terrorists ensures their continued existence and the possibility for future expansion. The Middle East is an exceptional archaeological and art-historical palimpsest of vanished and still existing civilizations as illustrated with an array of sites and monuments spanning …show more content…
These assumptions may seem alarmist. However, Da'esh has repetitively said that they despise "Western" culture and find it idolatrous. Therefore, to contain Da'esh and simultaneously achieve maximum strategic success, the United States and its allies must evolve by focusing efforts on countries to adopt proactive measures that will curb the market for antiquities and artifacts from Syria and other parts of the Middle East and North Africa. A law signed by President Obama on May 9, 2016 makes it illegal to import antiquities from Syria into the United States. This law should focus the efforts of the Joint Terrorism Task Forces to assist prosecutors in order to seize the wealth and jail those engaged in this illicit market at all levels. Severe prosecution and the associated public disgrace of western collectors and dealers will reduce market demand and by doing so diminish a major funding stream for terrorists, rogue regimes, and transnational organized crime. Following this law, it is critical that the United States Government makes efforts to include international cultural experts to depoliticize and optimize transdisciplinary and interagency strategies including counter-threat finance. By using such enhanced efforts, the United States will lead the global community in holding those accountable who commit and profit by cultural

Often called “The Crossroads of the World”, the Middle East stands between three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. Over thousands of years, migrating traders and conquerors crossed this region and spread the ideas, inventions, and achievements of many civilizations. It is an incredibly important part of the world with rich history, important resources, and deep religious and cultural traditions. However, in the past decades up to today, the Middle East has been consumed by conflict and chaos. Although different circumstances surround each issue, religion, terrorism, disputes over the control of natural resources, and weak governance primarily allow conflict to persist in the Middle East.
I have never been informed about the related change request is a regulatory requirement. It is quire embarrassment if I need to tell ESD that the said change request is a regulatory requirement because I never mentioned this important message on my discussion with them. To be honest, I will not ask ESD to make a judgment if it is an essential change. After my further discussion with Nathalie on this matter, she confirmed that ESD would not need to make any change of client's statement unless it is required by SFC. Before we consider taking any further action ourselves, please help to clarify with LCD whether the said change is a regulatory requirement or not? Thanks
I believe its a bit difficult to specify a specific disorder to accurately diagnose Etta, because the video does not denote time frame and how long these symptoms occur or lasted. One thing is for certain Etta does show symptoms as denoted above; delusion hallucination, disturbed behavior, catatonia and paranoia. If I had to select a disorder from Chapter 6 that would best describe Etta's condition I would say Schizophreniform Disorder.
Context and Research Question: In August 2015, after capturing the ancient Roman site of Palmyra, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) spectacularly exploded the remains of the Temple of Bel and the Temple of Baalshamin. They immediately spread the images of their destruction online by creating videos and news reports. ISIL’s acts of destruction mark the largest-scale mass destruction of antiquities by one group since the Second World War (Kulish and Myers 2016), and their videos are extremely effective in disseminating their spectacles outside of the Middle East. Scholars in art history, archaeology, and law consider these acts the destruction of cultural heritage (Harmanşah 2015; Bauer 2015; Brodie 2015; Drasewska 2015; He 2015; Kila 2015). In particular, ISIL’s videos seek to defy Western European ideas about cultural heritage which are often cast as universal (Meskell 2002, 568) and engage a worldwide audience through carefully articulated performances. However, the many Canadian journalists using digital media to protest the destruction and reassert their own humanitarian, cosmopolitan, and civilized heritage values clearly mark the success of this strategy (Manley 2016). In fact, a trend emerged where popular news stories claim that ISIL is destroying the heritage that belongs to all of humanity (Harmanşah 2015, 173). Some scholars dispute the validity of this
I’m sure that you’ve heard of all the fuss about Isis and how they’re taking over the Middle East. Well, to be bluntly honest, it’s not the first time that something like this has occurred in the Middle Eastern countries. Back towards the time period when humans were first starting to populate and inhabit the earth, a man named Gilgamesh did this same sort of thing. The two of them have several commonalities and differences. Gilgamesh and Isis are similar in the fact that they both terrorized people and surprisingly, they both originate from the same area on the globe, the Middle East. They’re complete opposites for the reason that they committed their horrific acts during complete different time periods and for complete different reasons.
Because creating a durable design means that the bin will be difficult to break and less maintenance will be required. This will be economical for the client (RSHS) in the long term, as the bin will last longer and less money will be spent on maintenance.
Hi Ed. Today right after I got off from school, I went to the town and ask about the paperworks and the lady told me that it is still in building review. I ask them when exactly will my paperwork finish and she kept telling me that they are not sure and as of right now, all paperworks that other people submit are being delay as well and not just mine. I know that my parent will start paying their November rent soon, but can I ask if you can help my parent out with the rent because I am not sure when will the paperwork be finish so that the restaurant can be open.
Since the terrorist attacks on 9/11, America has been on edge about the topic of terrorism. Groups like Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Taliban, and now more recently, ISIS, has kept the world cautious of their every next move. Looking more closely into how these groups are formed and operate could help us better understand how they can be stopped. Studying the history of terrorist organizations can help us better predict the future of terrorist organizations.
For years ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), a Salafi jihadist militant group that follows an Islamic fundamentalist, has been progressively taking over parts of Iraq and Syria. As their power and territory increases, so does the destruction. The world is horrified by the group’s publicized barbaric murders and persecution of minorities. While many lives have been lost to the Islamic state, they aren’t only targeting the living. ISIS has been methodically finding, stealing, and destroying ancient art and artifacts in order to cleanse the world of the old cultures and to create their own history. The group has released multiple videos of its members destroying ancient structures. Sites such as Iraq’s Mosul Museum and Nimrud archaeological site have been completely demolished.
ISIS is fighting for man-made rules and regulations; this message is all natural with no artificial restrictions or limitations. ISIS’ old ideas
In nineteen-eighty the CIA allowed Tim Osman or better known as Osama Bin Laden to tour their military bases; and even supported his cause. “America’s relationship with Al Qaeda has always been a love-hate affair” (Chengu). The Islamic state is the latest enemy, that much like Al-Qaeda, is certainly backfiring (Chengu). In 2003, after the American occupation and invasion in Iraq, it quickly created the perfect conditions for radical groups such as the Islamic State to take hold of what has now become a “magnet country”. After America 's efforts in Iraq, they left behind a large amount of weaponry such as guns, vehicles and even missiles. If the United States were trying its best to eliminate these radical groups then why did they not retrieve these weapons? Isis recovering these weapons soon becomes the roots of this tree of terror.
Around the world, countries are reeling with the losses caused by the increasingly more powerful terrorist organization, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). While undoubtedly other countries are experiencing greater losses than the U.S., especially those affected financially by the costs of taking in Syrian refugees or those closer to the conflict, such as those in the Levant area that have been forcefully taken over by ISIS or robbed by it, the U.S. is already opening its purse in an effort to find a solution to the problem of ISIS. It has begun coordinating with other countries to find a way to constrict ISIS's inflow of money; bombing ISIS oil infrastructure and shutting down banks operating in territory controlled by ISIS are two

With a small smile, he remembered the last time he had seen her alive. Eleanor was grinning. She was wearing her blue school uniform talking excitedly about how she was going to get an A on her spelling test.
