The assigned readings and assignments on the first and second week of this course help me learn more about my interpersonal communication needs and barriers. It helps me to strengthen my listening and verbal skills. With the DISC assessment I learned some interesting things about my strengths and weakness. Upon taking the DISC assessment, I am, “D/S/C”, active/passive people-oriented and passive/task-oriented. According to the DISC (2016), I have the blended style of a doer, supportive and competent/cautious (p14) and people see me as strength, sensitive and a thinker (p185). I am described as decisive, logical, analytical and helpful. Even though I am passive I can be dominant sometimes and a little controlling. I am active and decisive
I am an independent learner, so this course is perfectly suited for my learning style. However, I find that I am somewhat of an auditory learner. Reading subject matter that I
Personalities are reflections of who people truly are at their core. This past week each team member completed a DISC Platinum RuleTM Behavioral Assessment. As stated in the assigned reading, this assessment provides its users with the tools for becoming a better person, the ability to behave more maturely and productively, and to be more successful. Recognition of different personality styles are observed as each team member completes the assessment. All patterns may not work for everyone. However, these patterns are valuable to building relationships.

My goal was fulfilled by taking this class HD 341 Communication for Empowerment. I learned to communicate more effectively and confidently. I was authentically engaged in learning and taking risks with the course assignments and classmates. This course helped me in understanding my own communication when doing the Response & Reactions papers and the weekly discussions. I did a lot of self-reflection about my interpersonal communication and the communication skills that I acquired when I was young that influence the effectiveness of my communication. From self-reflection, I gain the knowledge and skills to work toward positive interactions with others. After taking this class, I have a new perspectives, open-mindedness, seeing things from the
Interpersonal communication is how individuals connect with one another, and is a necessary skill for anyone that desires to build harmony, demonstrate respect, diffuse and solve problems, and build meaningful and mutual relationships. This course has allowed me to better understand how and why I communicate the way I do, as well as ways to improve my communication skills and be more cognizant of the functions and repercussions of communication. I learned that communication is about more than what is spoken. It also includes nonverbal cues as well as role schemas. Through studying situations and tendencies in relationships, this class has provided me with life knowledge that will contribute to the success and benefit of current and future
After taking the Project 2 assessment, I found that I have an agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience personality (Project 2 Assessment, 2017). At times, I can sympathize with people’s feelings. Usually, I can have a better understanding of why someone is thinking a way if I understand what they think. I am completely a conscientiousness person. I always want to do well with any task that is in from of me. Also, I am always thinking and planning things to do.
Next, my backup personal thinking is Approval style, passive/defensive cluster, is about people sets goals that please others, support those with the most authority, agrees with everyone, and reluctantly deals with conflict. I totally agree with this score. According to LSI result, the approval scale measures our need to be accepted by others to increase or sustain our feeling of self-worth. I think dependent and approval styles both are similar to explain me. I like to work many people but I will be a good listener. This might be cause from I don’t like to read since I was young until now. I want to change myself to be a good reader, so, I might have more knowledge to discuss, suggest, and participate with others people.
A person’s personality allows us to see if we are passive or aggressive, along with why a person may be shy or outgoing (Lussier&Achua, 2013). My number one personality trait according to the profile assessment indicates that I am highest in conscientiousness, followed by adjustment, surgency, openness to new experiences, and agreeableness. As we continue to assess my leadership, all of these will play an important role in how I continue to be a strong leader with other motivating factors.
My goal is to learn as much as I can so that I am equipped to convert my role as the middle manager at my current organization to one that sits at the senior leadership table. I am looking forward to this course developing my critical thinking skills in preparation for my inevitable
Articular disc is an extension of the capsule. The disc is well absorbed to the condyle amid and alongside by the accessory ligaments. Other joints that have an articular disc is the synovial joint and the spinal joints. Synovial joints are the most common and complex joint. The synovium is the inner synovial layer, greatly vascularized layer of connective tissue. The synovium absorbs and secretes synovial fluid and mediates the nutrition exchange between blood and joint.
The next category of internal derangement, a greater degree of anterior displacement of the disc is found. Once the disc displacement anteriorly found a great degree and the condyle inability to glide anteriorly, may cause decreased jaw movements and limited mouth opening since the disc acts as an obstacle and prevents normal anterior translation of the mandible is referred to disc displacement without reduction (DDwoR) or closed lock (94-99). Due to this reduced glide, one-sided ADDwoR may cause deviation towards the affected displaced side (5,9) (Insert Figure_6.jpg).
The DiSC profile system is a specialized profile assessment system. It is designed to provide takers with a clue into which personality category they fall. Each characteristic is carefully laid out to determine which profile best suits you. In brief, the profile consists of four categories that include dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. Over this summer course I have learned a lot about communication. I learned how significant nonverbal and verbal communication is, along with listening. I never fully understood how big communication is in our daily lives. I now realize that it is a huge aspect of how we continue in our lives. This course has showed me different levels of communication.
The leadership assessment states that I am inclined towards the Relationship oriented leadership behavior. I believe that task completion is equally important in the industry as maintaining relationships with team members. I scored a bit higher in relationship oriented leadership which is 35 as compared to my task score that is 33. I tend to be very friendly with the group members. I have always tried to make my team members feel comfortable around me. This helps to effectively communicate with team members. Conducive environment leads to the free flow of thoughts and ideas. I have always supported the best ideas of my co-workers and make the decision that would be in the best interest of the project. Sometimes, I don’t behave in a predictable manner with the group. I bring up my personal tensions to the office, which doesn’t allow me to behave wisely with the team. I always show empathy towards my team members in terms of crisis. Although, I take decisions wisely, I spent a lot of time contemplating about various scenarios. I
