Menu reflection is great thing to do before serving out your menus, it helps you with more ways than you think like deciding whether or not you have too much protein groups or not enough grain groups. When reflecting on a menu you should always make sure the meals you serve are perfect for a balance diet. For instance during breakfast you should serve milk, fruit or vegetable, and grains or bread. During lunch and dinner you should always serve milk, grains or bread, meat or meat alternate, and two different servings of fruits and vegetables. Snack servings include two different servings of four components, milk and fruits or vegetables, grains or bread, or even meat or meat alternate. Not only should the menu be balanced but also have a variety of foods for each. Go the distance with it while still keeping in the right amount of
It is important to maintain a safe environment for students inside and outside of the classroom. My goal is to make sure that the children understand what being safe is. I make sure that they know how to play safe. All of the toys and the materials that the children use are safe. I make sure that there are no broken toys that may harm them around. The children along with me create the class rules. I make sure that the outlet plugs are in place and that the cabinets are secure. The children follow the classroom rules. I make sure that I supervise the children at all times. I also make sure that I observe the areas where they play, work, and eat. I make sure that shoes are tied. I make sure that
In my center I keep children safe by creating an environment where children gain the knowledge and discipline that allows them to make appropriate choices on their own. Emotional safety is promoted through daily greetings, love rituals and positive reinforcement. Children’s feelings are acknowledged, validated, and appropriate guidance suggested and modeled. I make sure activities are fun, safe and developmentally appropriate. The children are encouraged to make good choices by having discussions, giving lessons, and reading books that talk about safety issues. I comply with all state licensing regulations
It is important when planning and setting up learning activities that indoor and outdoor environments are hazard free and that staff and pupils will be able to work safely. The following factors must be taken into account when planning healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments and services;

By consistently reviewing the ODE (Ohio Department of Education) preschool program licensing rules I maintain a safe environment for my students. I make sure all exits are marked and unobstructed with properly working doors and locks. Safety and evacuation plans consisting of emergency contact numbers, emergency drill information and diagrams are posted. A communicable diseases chart is posted and a first aid kit is available yet out of the children's reach. My personal items along with cleaning supplies are locked in a cabinet. Children are never left unattended. I model safe practices in the classroom, on the playground and on the bus.
It is important to take into account the health and safe requirements of all pupils before planning or starting any activity, ensuring that the environment is free of hazards and the children can play and learn safely.

Competency Statement V To ensure a well-run purposeful program that is responsive to participant needs I ensure that I meet Competency Standard V in my classroom by observing, documenting, and assessing each child’s developmental and educational progress. For example, I regularly observe each child’s developmental and educational progress. I collect monthly observations to support concerns regarding potential learning or behavioral needs or abilities. I ensure to adhere to current local childcare regulations and program policies.
There are a number of important principles to think about when you are planning for healthy and safe environments or activities with children. Most of these are common sense but you need to remember that everyone is an individual and may have different needs. There are several points to take into consideration when planning safety:
Select two (2) of the health and safety policies in your centre. Identify which ECE licensing criterion they relate to and explain your roles and responsibilities as an early childhood teacher in implementing these policies to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Describe the learning opportunities for children that can be promoted, which align with the health and safety policies you have selected.
To provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment that is safe, healthy, respectful and supportive of children and families. For the learning environment to be safe, I ensure that I always check identification, and have parents notify me whenever someone new to the list will be picking up. I always bring my roster with me to ensure I have all my children with me. I do a roll call every time we get to a new area after traveling anywhere away from our room, and before leaving the room. Another way that I make the learning environment safe is by covering all the outlets in the room, and making sure sharp or dangerous objects are put away, and out of the children’s reach. I put cleaning supplies and other chemicals in high locked cabinets.

Many people often wonder if drinking faucet or even spring water is safe and sanitary for their bodies. Many people feel as if their drinking water becomes contaminated and polluted because the water comes from foreign places. It is imperative people study their drinking water to ensure we are putting fresh water into our bodies. If we put polluted and unsafe water into our bodies, we run the risk of illness and other things we try to avoid. Some topics that will be covered in this research paper will consist of polluted water, our digestive system, faucet water and spring water. These topics are important as background information because these are the main sources for water and ones digestive system can make the determination whether or not the water is polluted.
