Client Background The client is an 18 year-old high school graduate. He self-reported did “OK” in high school, B – C, student, but did well enough on his standardized tests to be admitted to the colleges where he applied. Despite having the opportunity to go to college he reported hating school and did not enroll. He currently works with an independent contractor, performing painting, light carpentry and electrical work. His previous work experiences have included food service at a pool snack bar, and field and maintenance work for a firm owning a large collection of athletic complexes. He has also worked in a warehouse, performing inventory, cleaning and maintenance jobs. He is pleased with the income he is currently making, but realizes …show more content…
The client’s standard scores were 59 for Realistic, 48 for Investigative, a tie between Social and Enterprising with 48 and Conventional was 47 all moderate. I thought the gap between Realistic and the subsequent codes was large enough to lead with, but the other codes needed further examination. I looked at his Occupational Scale Code and found a code of REC with scores of 25, 11, and 7 respectively. Realistic again showed a clearly higher outcome, however, Investigative was scored a 6 only one point lower than Conventional. When I looked at his Basic Interests only Realistic and Enterprising had High or Very High designations. In examining his occupational scales, again Realistic had the strongest representation with Social next followed by Enterprising. This was obviously going to be a good point for …show more content…
We looked at his Theme Code of RIS and compared it to the hexagon. We commented on how R and S were a distance from each other on the hexagon and he expressed surprise at Investigative being in his code. We examined the Standard Scores and interest level and I explained that he had scores within 5 points of each other that shared the same interpretive comment. I suggested we us the Where Do I Go Next? Book to break the tie. I labeled 4 sticky notes with I, S, E, and C. We read the I’d describe myself as column for each theme, recording words that fit him on the sticky notes as we went. Enterprising had the most words recorded when we finished, but Conventional and Social were tied. We then went to the What motivates me is and What I Value is column and recorded words that fit. Social had the most words recorded so we continued using a theme code of RES. This code is reflective of his Basic interests and his Occupational Scales. At this point he felt comfortable with that theme code and felt they were reflective of him. Basic Interest
While at the hospital, the patient, was having excessively slow AV nodal conduction rates that unfortunately haven’t been recognized. He started on the prescribed antihypertensive drug (s). As soon as blood levels climb towards the usual therapeutic range the patient goes into complete heart block. Which of the following drugs most likely provoked this further prolongation of the P-R interval, ultimately leading to the complete heart

Kelly Through several emails and communications, Kelly assume that there is not enough time to meet the deadline of August for the project. Even though Pat seems to show that, there is some chance to do so.
1. My current situation with work isn't that great. I told my boss that I have school and that is my main focus this fall. They really want me to work so they can get things done. The problem is they are going to give me the crappy jobs that nobody wants. Why would I go back when I would be given the crappy jobs to do? I currently have enough money to cover my schooling costs. It bothers me that they can't hire someone else. It's almost like they expect me to come back and work.
When a person, such as Ryan, is considering applying to a college or university there can be many psychological factors that can play a part in determining your actions. The things you become exposed to, assumptions about people, and your motivations are all attributing to our life decisions.
1. In a college paper the audience is almost always the professor. Knowing this the author would keep his paper very formal by using proper grammar, and appropriate word choice.and would make sure to add literary devices that the professor looks for. For example, if the professor enjoys imagery, then the student would try to fill his/her paper with that literary device. In certain situations the student may have to read their writing in front of the class. When the audience involves the classroom, one should try to structure his/her paper in a way that would not generalize broad topics, because a classroom scene isn't whole there are many cultural backgrounds to take in consideration. A way to avoid generalization is to not give a single perspective on vast topics. For example, if one is talking about Trump, they should write about a liberal's perspective, as well as a conservative's perspective.
They would make sure to be there on time to pick up their children if they knew it will cost them extra money. They thought this would decrease the tardiness. However, the tardiness increased and proved them wrong. I would have schedule a meeting to inform them about a new tardy policy. The new tardy policy would state how their daycare fee will go up if they constantly picking up their child late. The tardy fee will be an extra $50 per tardiness. I think it would solve my problem because an extra $50 on top of the daycare fee is unnecessary money spent. The tardy fee can go towards the daycare fee per week instead of being tardy. The incentive is whoever does not receive a tardy fee each week will win a $50 gift card of their choice. It relates to the study of economics by solving my issue with incentives such as gift cards.
There are many possible ways to look at an issue such as anxiety. A behavioralist might say that anxiety is genetic and thus would have revealed itself around this age even without additional stressors. They would say that the chemistry of the brain is the source and that the best way to overcome it would be to take medication to make the brain act more normally so that Jake could get his bearings and overcome his illness.
I like the analogy you used with baking the cake and not having icing, to explain the relationship between language and thinking. The cake will be incomplete without the icing, and without thinking what we are going to say, the language used can be inappropriate or totally make no sense. Critical thinking is crucial before we say something, we want to make sure we get our message across clearly with the proper language, it will avoid a lot of misunderstandings.
In our classroom text, the authors Chaffee, McMahon, and Stout highlight four key factors that we as writers and readers should include in our thoughts. “1. Thinking actively, 2. Thinking independently, 3. Viewing a situation from different perspectives, 4. Supporting diverse perspectives with evidence and reasons” (2008).
For this assignment, I have logged at least five decision making scenarios for the past two weeks, though these are not big decisions. Below are the narration of the decision logs: • My first scenario is when my friends and I were driving for a long trip over the weekend, but somehow we seem lost and unable to locate the correct direction to the villa resort. All of us are getting impatient that we feel lost. One of us decided to take charge and made use of the GPS location (though we are still not sure).
The issue I have chosen that concerns my core program is the necessity of a Certification. Currently in the United States it is not required in all 50 states that a surgical technologist be certified.
In this assignment I am discussing some case study questions from chapter 7 and critical thinking discussion questions for chapters 8 and 9 of the Global Business Today text. These questions are for the individual week 3 assignment of our MBA 539 International Business class. These discussion questions are composed to increase the reader’s understanding of “the political economy of international trade”, “foreign direct investment” and “regional economic integration” as explained within Global Business Today (Hill, C., 2014).
One example is on how to lower the tone of my voice in the middle of a discussion when the recipients do not listen to explanations. How to help irate clients understand the dilemma in such a way situations should be avoided to be escalated into a higher authority. She had taught me how to resolve concerns in an orderly manner. Furthermore, she told me not to take problems personally.
From our modest beginnings using crude tools as cave dwellers to our most sophisticated technological advances of the 21st century, we continually show our ability to think critically. Critical thinking is a skill that must be nurtured and honed; it is easy to skip steps in the process thereby leading to inefficiencies in design or product. In this discussion, I will focus on two examples, one that shows a quality example of critical thought, and another that shows a failure in critical thinking.
