My descriptive writing essay is about the time when went to Lake McConaughy. We have been to this lake two years in a row and my family and I love it. We live about eight hours away from it so we stayed with my grandparent the day before we went to save some time. We are in the car hearing the tires move and jump, it’s just me, my mom, my dad, and my two brothers in the car. I’m listening to my music and I see my mom and dad talking. I also see my older brother falling asleep and my younger brother watching his show on our ipad. When we finally get there we are all a little tired but we don’t want to waste anytime, so we drove up to our beach house and it is huge and beautiful. It even has a kitchen. We were all very excited ready to go out
Hidden in the seclusion of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, sits a tranquil pond blanketed in a sheet of fragile ice. From atop the limestone peaks, the glistening rays of the morning sun tint the mountain side a sunburnt orange. The sloped peaks of the rippled mountain side are covered in snow, like they have been dusted with icing sugar, and cast a foreboding shadow over the pond below. In the valley, the arid, yellowed grass has been suffocated by the thick layer of snow and ice, for the winter storm has hit hard this season and spring has arrived later than usual. Yet, beside the frozen pool, there lies a growth of bright, rich evergreens, their trunks rising towards the stars, and their branches extending to the shape of a cone. From them,
The well known Grand Canyon wasn’t always grand. About 6 millions years ago there live a princess called Artemis, she loved a lot of things like hunting, wilderness, and animals. Her kingdom was located in the territory now called, Arizona. She always had her trusty bow and arrow everywhere she went. She hunted so much that she would bring extra animals to feed the poor. But her father didn’t like that, he was selfish and forbade her to feed the poor anymore. He wanted her daughter to be normal, like wear dresses, have proper manners, and be quiet like every princess should be. She didn’t like that, her passion was to hunt, and possibly become a warrior with her true love. The fault with that dream she had no true love.
It was a blazing, sunny day in Lake Havasu City, Arizona reading a temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit out on the back patio. The hot air felt like the inside of an oven against a human being’s skin. As a Lake Havasu City native, little seven- year- old Scarlett Suzanne had no trouble at all swimming in the pool at such extremely sizzling temperatures. She would play for hours on end pretending she was Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” until her mother would have to drag her inside for supper. Although Scarlett was practically a fish in the water, she was not allowed to go outside unless her mother was home or was watching her.
The streets of South Bellevue are some to never be forgotten. The neighborhood is filled with the joyous laughter of children and the archaic wisdom of the elderly. It is one of the few amicable communities among the busy city. Bellevue shields it’s people like a mom who graciously protects her young from the dangers of the outside world. Bellevue is a wonderful neighborhood with a variety of individual experiences.
Grand Teton National Park is wonderful to visit any time of year, but Fall is my favorite. Autumn brings many wonderful things to the Tetons, but one thing it takes away are the large crowds of summer. Whew!
I'm going to Lucky Eagle this morning, but wanted to send you a note before I head out to let you know that Jackie and I will not be on next Monday's casino bus to Red Wind. We're going to Pendleton with a group of gals to play golf and gamble. We're leaving Sunday and returning on Tuesday.
Without responding to Kathy’s remark, Louise glanced toward Betty and whispered, “I’m sorry, please continue.” The server brought her another glass.
I layed back, kicked my feet up, and looked up at the sun trying to break through the leaves of the enormous Oak trees. There is one place I always end up when I want to escape from the rest of the world: Pokagon State Park.
named Hollands Cove. Almost as if it were a secret the entrance to the community the roadway lies bare. A small dirt road with two fields on either side are backed by trees, small bushes, and a slight glimpse of a gray decaying haunted house. However during the early summer if you drudge through that field of tangled weeds you would find the bushes lined with juicy summer blackberries that stain your fingertips.
Pine needles and underbrush crunched underfoot as I climbed uphill on the mountainside. The forest canopy acted as a strainer, blocking all but the most lucky rays of sunlight. Sweat rappelled down my face and jumped off the tip of my nose, falling to the soft earth. My body commanded me to stop, to rest, to give up. For days I had already hiked and camped among the Blue Ridge Mountains with no sense of accomplishment, and I hungered for satisfaction. Rain and constant change in elevation broke my spirit, and encouraged me to go home. I felt as if nature itself taunted me, pushing me to give up. It became my worst enemy.

I love going to the lake. I get to meet my very loving family, and we have a total blast. We have to drive a long 3 hours though. It is probably the worst part. Leaving is super sad because my wonderful family has to say goodbye. I will start with the twisty road that leads us right to the lake house.

This lake is one of the many in Arizona. When I was nearly 3 months old I started to go to Arizona with my family and close friends. There we would float in the lake and go on long boat rides. One of my favorite lakes to go to would have to be Pleasant Lake.
When it was midnight, we loaded the car and drove through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. We stopped at a few places to grab food or gas. It was a long time, but it was worth it when we finally reached our condo. It was beautiful! We went to the balcony to see the ocean and it was crystal clear. The beach wasn’t crowded either. We hurried to put on bathing suits and sunscreen. Then we walked downstairs to the beach. The sand was warm and felt great. My sister’s and I ran to the water and
