Hi folks, I'm Rob. I'm originally from Mississippi, so my Texas history is not profound. I know the basics, "Remember the Alamo", and "come and take it", but the driving factors behind all of this is a mystery to me. So my expectation of this course is to learn more about one of the greatest states I have visited, and the people that laid the foundation for it to be so
Sleuthing the Alamo is a historic book that breaks some myths about the Texas Revolutions and brings forth the truth which is the purpose of the book. The author notes that some reports and accounts of the Texas Revolution have been more in the spotlight than others and so some of the other accounts haven’t been paid as much attention to even though they are also valid. The author, James E. Crisp is a history professor at North Carolina State University and according to the NC State University Department of History website, his book Sleuthing the Alamo, was the winner of the T. R. Fehrenbach Book Award for 2005 from the Texas Historical Commission. Dr. James E. Crisp got his BA in History from Rice University, M. Phil. in History

As we have learned in class, Texas is a unique place made up of many borders creating a fascinating and complex history unlike any other state
There are several job opportunities in this world, that people often struggle in choosing which one they would like to pursue someday. My current struggle is deciding which degree I would like to pursue; I know that I want to work with animals. I have narrowed it down to the smaller categories of choosing if I want to go for as many as nine years and get a bigger degree that is going to be hard to get a job and do as well out where I hope to live; or go for two to four years get my degree that will be easier to work with where I hope to live. My current choices are between vet technician, vet technologist, and veterinarian. I have hoped to go into the animal health industry for most of my life and now that I am a junior the time is coming to make the choice of career.
The Texas Revolution, why is it so important? Why is there so many arguments over it? Truth is this historical subject is very controversial and it can be seen through the work of many authors. In this case I have decided to research 4 authors and their dedicated work on the history of the Texas Revolution. From the historical documents of Sam Houston to retracing his steps through photographic representation. These authors put in a lot of time and dedication, a lot of research and thought into their research and even though they had different opinions and ideology on the Texas Revolution, one thing they do share, is the passion and love for Texas. So what are some key points and key
Hi I’m Danielle the dinoflagellates. I am the largest Noctiluca, and may be as large as 2 mm in diameter! Or I could be as small as 15 to 40 microns. Now you may thinking what is this, well I’m going to tell you. For one I am photosynthetic which means that I can create my own food from the sun and provide food for other organisms. I live in freshwater with other really cool and crazy creatures. I am basically algae or plankton. I am usually red, green, or multicolored.
You could feel the riot before you could see it. There was something else in the crisp early morning New York air, a certain electricity. A certain static that could only have been brought about by the winds of change. Even at three am the city is usually alive, but in these early Saturday morning hours Christopher Street was more alive than usual. However, it wasn't the normal flamboyant energy it had come to been known for. It was an angry energy, one that's only capable of being created by an oppressed group fed up with the constant mistreatment they've too long endured.
"Hello, Phil Morter! I am writing to you because at last remembered everything so wanted to forget my mind. That I killed Jill and the unknown man, whose name was not able to remember. I can not understand why I did it, but I know that to live with this further simply can not. After your visit, everything changed. Me began to torment the nightmares in which I have seen, as I stabbed a man to dwell on the ill-fated road, as himself shut in the car, as kill the girl, whom I loved more than life
Although writing is a task done mainly by one person, nobody writes a book alone. Without the encouragement, suggestions and reviews of others no book - especially this one - would be completed. So I must first thank my seventh graders who looked upon me with eager, innocent eyes willing to accept as gospel my unprepared view of Texas history. There is a special place in hell for anyone who can intentionally misinform such young minds. I couldn’t do it. So began the genesis of this book. Although I only taught for two years while awaiting Arkansas and Texas bar results to become a lawyer, I refused to mislead my students. My own teachers had set high standards of education I could not defer.
I am Emil Oxy, the newest recruit of the Survey Corps. And today is my first day out of the bunks, which is pretty scary considering we have to leave the wall to fight the colossal titan… My closest friend, Eren Jaeger, will be joining me on my first mission. I was surprised when Eren was pulled from his execution to join the Scouts, because Eren himself is a titan shifter, meaning he can switch between man and titan. Anyways, we started walking through the large forest when the ground started trembling. A 15 meter titan came running right at us “Emil! Put your 3D Maneuvering gear to good use!” He shouted as he grappled away on a nearby tree. To be continued…
The men of Texas no longer want to be led by the president Santa Anna, who is more like a dictator, so they claimed their independence from Mexico. Sam Houston, commander of the Texas Army, is trying to persuade people from the US to immigrate to Texas, by giving them land. Sam Houston meets with Jim Bowie in one scene where he tells him that if he goes to Texas he’d have 640 acres of land of his choosing. With the prospect of land, famous Davie Crockett goes to Texas, but hadn’t realized that Texas was still part of a revolutionary war with Mexico. William Travis seeks a new life in Texas and goes to the Alamo as lieutenant colonel. All of these men go to the Alamo with different intentions and in support of the revolution. They have different thoughts and beliefs, but they all also share a common goal of freedom and protection of the land they claimed
"Wake up, partners," the trail boss, James called. I sleepily looked up , shivered, and saw I was the only one not up. "Here," James said, giving me the horses' bridles and saddles. "Take these and get the horses ready. We have a long day today." I groaned in reply and set up the horses for the day's long drag. I was the horse wrangler and this was my everyday job but I still couldn't get use to the idea of waking up before the sun and working. We drove the cattle into open plains against the winter's cold wrath.
As I’m walking up to the plate, hands shaking, I drop the old silver coated bat in the dust for the second time of the game. I can hear the cheers coming from the dugout, “Come on Banwell hit it over the wall,” said Connor. As I step into the box, I remember how I was able to play in this pickup game in the first place, through my best friend Connor. It was right after school when I heard Connor talking to Chris Chamberlain, the usual captain in pickup baseball. I heard Connor ask Chris to pick me when we play, this made me overjoyed.
My field placement this year is with Careers in Transition (CIT) in the Lives in Transition (LIT) program. LIT is a career-orientated program aimed towards women who have experienced domestic and/or family violence at some point in their lives which has, in most cases, resulted in some form of oppression in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
We will look into the KSAOs model as an assessment of recruitment selection process for the position of Administrative
