“Creative” is definitely an adjective that has been used by others to describe me and my aspirations. At the ripe age of five, I began to take an interest in the visual arts. This interest started with Play-Doh and Legos, then moved to drawing, crafting, sewing, ceramics, and then painting. Every day my mom would find me on my bedroom floor—in deep concentration—working on a new art project. She would simply smile and leave the room to wait patiently until I was finished with my new masterpiece. Each year, my talent increased and every art teacher I had could see something special in me. However, I always thought that my art projects were nothing special and just a result of my self-expression. It was not until I entered high school and was …show more content…
This organization will also provide these youth with a counselor and a peer mentor that will help guide them along their journeys to prosperous futures. Exposing youth with socioeconomic hardships to the arts will help them to utilize their creativity, which will broaden their educational and career opportunities because creativity aids in learning by improving literacy and math skills, and aids in the development of professional skills such as, problem solving and communication. Similarly, being exposed to the arts will provide bully victims with an outlet for self-expression, and mental and emotional growth that could potentially save them from making any fatal decisions, as a result of the trauma caused by bullying. Unfortunately, I suffered from socioeconomic adversities as a youth and as a result, became a victim of bullying. Throughout those challenging years of being bullied, I suffered in silence because I felt I had no one who I could open up to, not even my mom. Luckily, I was able to overcome the bullying with the help of my creativity. Art became an outlet for me to open-up and finally break my silence. Therefore, I want to give at-risk youth an opportunity to overcome their obstacles and work towards fulfilling futures by
Throughout high school I participated in numerous volunteer opportunities. I had the opportunity to be my high school's basketball team manager my junior year of high school. As the lady blazers manager I was in charge of attending games, practices, recording fouls and games, as well as organizing the food for the players after their games. However, I also devoted my time to things other than sports. I also volunteered every year at my school's registration for new student. My school, IDEA Quest, places a lot of emphasis on new student registration because new students are given an opportunity to preview their life at IDEA. Therefore as a volunteer of the new student registration I would speak at the student panel about my experience as an

There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
As an undergraduate student at the University of New Mexico I have become increasingly aware of the complex network problems that I face as a citizen of the world. I have also realized the progress and success that I enjoy in the same capacity as the frontiers of medicine, technology and communication continue to expand. My desire to participate in the resolution of those problems and in the further expansion of those frontiers had inspired me to seek a degree in biology and entrance into a School of Dentistry. I intend to successfully complete program of dentistry and further my specialization in the area of endodontics. Upon completion of my
I would like to be part of IDEA because I believe that my cultural background, education and work experience would be able to provide a unique way of aiding, pursuing and achieving IDEA’s mission and vision. I have a strong belief that the primary goal of teaching is to foster learning. With my work and education experience, I’ve noticed that learning takes place in many different settings and circumstances. For instance, in my Biology lab courses, I conducted outdoor labs to assess water chemistry, catch biological specimens in the wild, and observe their interaction with the environment. In addition, performed chemical reactions and used microscopes to observe many specimens. These different types of learning approaches allowed me to recognize
This class has overall been one of my favorite classes that I have taken over the past four years five years at DeSales. I learned more than I expected and have implemented some of these learned lessons towards simple excel calculations into my work at my job. For my chosen project, I decided to take a look at one of my hobbies. During my senior year I took a personal finance and discussed with one of my professors about my collection of trading cards. The result of this conversation, had me start thinking about the overall value of my collection for insurance purposes and if I ever sold the collection.
This is Mary McLeod Bethune School of North Lawndale in Chicago, and I am the new principle this year. Due to the poor economy around the school, things have been left to the way side, but I pray help give some hope back. Students are set back and 8th grade for some are their big celebration but I want to see them graduate high school. I want to be sitting in the audience at high school graduation and go those are my kids. Some issues at Bethune are based in the school makeup and location, teachers, readings levels, and the children encouragement.

Thus, my goal is to succeed academically and socially, graduating with a distinction and having built strong relationships.
Honestly, until recently I have never thought of myself as being creative, not really. I can’t draw and I don’t think I am an artist, not in the creative sense anyways. According to the authors of Inside the Entrepreneurial Mind: From Ideas to Reality and Human Resources and the Entrepreneurial Organization falling into the trap of believing that I am not creative is one of the most common barriers to creativity (B & E). Like most people I just didn’t recognize when I was being creative (E). It was only recently that I learned the root of creativity simply means to have grown (C). Creativity is
As an experienced technical and entertainment-based writer, I have discovered I have a passion for communicating with and helping other people. I have discovered this desire through numerous projects involving writing, editing, and article development. I hope to bring this desire and experience to your development and project team at Cornucopia Gaming.
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of

My path to medicine has been rather non-traditional. However, my arrival to the field comes with reason and purpose. My interest in medicine does not stem from family pressure or financial gain, but rather my interest in science and my observation of need. In the additional time it took me to choose the path of medicine, I have accumulated many experiences. The largest contributor to my inspiration in osteopathic medicine is an illness I experienced in my early twenties. This death experience occurred in a medically underserved area. It would be easy for me to write pages explaining the event, but to be frank the disease gave me a disturbingly insightful view.
