Many people saw him as a hero because of what he did. This is an example of heroism. Heroism is seen in many different ways, depending on the situation. There are many kinds of heroes in the world, too many to list, but there are three major heroes.

To illustrate, one of the main traits of a so called hero is the ability to persevere through tough times and obstacles. However, a hero with perseverance can be people who lose limbs while fighting for their country. In the poem,” A Man” by Nina Cassian it talks about a man who while fighting for his country lost a arm, but the man never gave up and decided to keep on living instead of mourning over the arm. In paragraph 15-16 the author commented,”.....he set himself to do everything with twice as much enthusiasm.”Such events like this can actually happen in real life where a soldier loses a limb and then gives up on living life, but some soldiers keep on living life to the fullest and never gives in because of his/her lost limb. These types of people who never give up even though they lost a limb causing them to do things with twice as much difficulty, which shows the trait of perseverance. Being a hero is something everyone is capable of with bravery and intelligence. You don’t have to be a Greek God to be a hero, you can be a simple, average person living in a regular town. Heroism is not your social status and ruling the land, it is the qualities you possess and how you use them. Both the short story “The Hero’s Test” by Alisoun Witting and the short story “The Red-Headed League” by Arthur Conan Doyle shows heroism and how anyone can be a hero.

Heroes are not extraordinary people. Heroes are just normal people doing things that most people could do. The media views heroes as exceptional beings, that posses super powers. Therefore, kids grow up thinking of Heroism or being a hero as something almost impossible to happen; and the closest they would get to being a hero is wearing a cape. Many people measure heroism based on the number of people the one’s heroic act had helped. As a result of the image the media portraits heroes, there is a believe that heroes cannot happen by accident, and in order to be called heroes they must have the intention to change the world. Regardless what some people believe that a hero cannot happen by accident, a hero is not a result of training or pursue of heroism; everyone can be a hero depending on these factors opportunity, strong will and desire to make a change, and compassion.

On October 13, 1972 a plane named the Faidchild was holding 45 passangers crashed in the Andes Mountains. Among the passangers was the Old Christrians club rugby union from Urgangy with family and friends. The plane was headed to a match the team was to play in Santiago, Chile. There was severe weather problams and the weather had forced the pilots to stop in Mendoza, Argentina. When cleared to fly again the pilots and passsangers headed out. Over Curico, Chile the pilot had requested permission to decend and was approved. At this time the area covered in clouds played a vital trick on the pilots. The Pilots thought they were farther than they actually were. The pilots had to crash land on the Andes Mountains as safe as possible in the situation

Many people believe that ‘a true hero’ is someone with superpowers and can perform super feats that a regular human is not able to do. Many people also believe that heroes have to be powerful in all they do: powerful in strength, powerful in brains, powerful with the people, powerful with themselves. All of this is not true. A complex hero is a man who embodies the characteristics of valor, benevolence, and fearlessness.

“Heroes are everyday, common people. Most of what they do goes unheralded, unappreciated. And that, ironically, is heroism: not to be recognized” (Oliver Stone pg. 73). Heroism doesn’t offer recognition or rewards, in fact, most heroes go unnoticed by the public. People are heroes because they care about problems that might not affect them, but may affect other people in a harmful way. Heroes can be afraid, but over time they have to overcome their fears and achieve what they are shooting for. They are never selfish, and are always looking out for others, even if that means they have to go out of their way to help someone. Heroism always means determination, and always continuing to push through the hard obstacles in life that they might

Heroes have achieved many feats that support the belief of a greater good and expressing valor and selflessness through the ages. There are fictional or real life accounts that have recognized these men and women for their vigor and marked them as heroes due to their events of success and motives of committing the heroic deeds. Yet there are copious amounts of people who have sacrifice themselves for a greater good but they have been lost through time even if their actions were prosperous or doomed in the end with a valiant purpose. They are unsung heroes who committed the actions based on their inner fire of what is right or honorable or rather than the fame they hope to achieve from those acts. The world or a populous may not know of their actions, but the actions and beliefs of an individual or group can entitle them of being hero-like without the necessity of recognition and success. They have lost their lives or a part of themselves to a cause based on righteousness rather than self-gain. They presented selfless heroism rather than the the intention to receive praise from the victories. Sacrifice contributes more to Heroism because the individual invested his or her own determination, valor and accepting the opportunity to risk their self-health (physical or psychological) based on great intentions rather than reaping the accolades of committing good deeds.

Heroism, the brave actions, prodigious determination, and their ingenious strategies to salvage the world and those in it. These heroes will give up and confront just about anything to help others and put them first. Not only will they easily put others before themselves, but they also use impeccably clever strategies and plans to save others and keep things out of harms way. Determination, a characteristic that makes the hero. Without it, how will heroes strive to become better, or complete anything? How will they strive to save those in need without the thrive to do so? To conclude this statement, although there are many vital characteristics, I believe that bravery, cleverness and pure determination are the most crucial traits that a hero

When you think about a typical hero like Superman, Batman, Spiderman. They save and protect cities and individuals, from any bad or harmful things. But in the real world there there aren't any villains we have to hide from. Those challenges come or propresenter differently, so typical Hollywood superhero doesn't work. This means anybody can become a hero, they just need to inspire others and bring the best traits out of the individual. To inspire people you need qualities others can value common like being understanding, smart, hopeful, loving, honest, strong and have the best intentions for the individual. When I think about these traits the one person that sticks out from the rest is my grandfather, Ron Stutzman.

Heros… In today’s society? A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Fictional characters can be heroes, but they aren’t real and have unrealistic character traits. Modern day heroes can portray any unique traits. They can’t fly, and they don’t have super strength, but they are good at heart and want nothing but good for everyone. So yes, hero’s do exist in today’s society, and many are very selfless.

Who or what do I define? People put their own lives at risk because of me. Everyday people come to find out that they’ve had me in them all along. Anyone can have it inside of them but many do not realize it, until it’s too late. It comes at the best and worst moments, but you can be the only one to pursue. You mostly see me in police officers and fire fighters, both who put their own lives on the line to save others and don’t think twice about saving themselves. No one is limited to me, but don’t let yourself think it can’t be in you. There are many definitions for me, but you’re the only one who can find out what I mean to you. Many heroic actions people perform can be frightening, but there is nothing wrong with being judged, remember I’m defined as “Great Bravery”.

Courage. What strikes a chord when you hear this word? Valor, valiance, respects, fears or nothing. Courage can regularly be anything but difficult to characterize, you can locate its meaning everywhere through a dictionary, on the web and can be effortlessly observed all the courageous demonstrations through daily papers practically consistently. Even though, it is difficult to illustrate. Who can truly stand up to against fear right then and there? Courageous not necessarily have to be big, famous, bombarded stories that known by anyone, however a modest act that could help anybody at the toughest time. One must acknowledge the task, regardless of what it might be, regardless of you will win or lose; you fight for what is right no matter what they should experience to get to there. Courage can exist anywhere.

Many go about their lives, traversing through strenuous situations, terrifying circumstances, and problematic times, all without the absence of courage. John Green’s The Fault in our Stars has characters who, similarly, negotiate life with courage. The novel is centered around Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, two teenagers who bravely live life with stage IV Thyroid cancer and Osteosarcoma cancer, respectively. The teenagers endure many of the harsh realities of being a cancer patient while always keeping courage. Hazel and Augustus also suffer through countless critical and tragic times, but they always courageously overcome the crisis. John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars conveys that if courage is present in one’s life, then an individual is capable of living through nearly anything, and has the ability to accomplish the seemingly impossible.

Do people need a cape and superpowers to become a hero? We all think of a hero as someone who is powerful, someone who can fly and shoot lasers from their eyes. Superman, for example, people admire him because he sacrifices his life for others. But ordinary everyday people do the same thing as well. A firefighter who battles deadly infernos, a police officer to cuff the bad guys, and even a mother, who will do whatever they can to protect their child. While one does not need a cape or superpowers to overcome a life-changing event, heroism means having responsibility, and holding bravery against your terror.
