Country Living Vs. City Living

The vibe of the whole place was like the country, yet we were in the city.

In my visit I saw the Police Department, the new Baseball Field "Dunkin Donuts" that is not in use yet, and many parking lots almost full. I did appreciate many office buildings and hotels, and also saw the Capital Community College's building. I saw High school Students walking in uniform, also students from the College, and people well dress probably from offices and having lunch at that time. Everyone wants their piece of that good old “American Pie”. Yes, we all want a chance or opportunity to go after our American Dreams. While pursuing these we must decide demographically where we plan to accomplish them at. Making the decision of whether it should be in the city or the country. Which should we prefer best? It is up to the individual to choose which one accurately fits the vision for their selves and their families. There are many factors a person, a couple or a family must consider when choosing between city living and country living. Pollution, crime, education, and entertainment are just a few to think about.

Another two differences between these places of living are job opportunities and cost of living. There are more job opportunities in the city. People in the countryside have their farms. They grow different vegetables, fruits and make money on it. For instance, In Mekong delta farmers make two crops a year. They are Summer-Autumn yield and Winter-Spring yield (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Between these seasons of crop there is a distance. They do not do anything during this period. In contrast, most people move to the city in order to find a job because it is easier there. For person who has a good education, the city is the best way to earn money because different offices, companies, factories are located in cities (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). For example, there are ChoRay hospital, Sacombank, Vietnam Airlines, National University in Ho Chi Minh city and these companies usually hire masters, doctors, engineers (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Also another difference between them is a cost of living. The cost of living in the city is higher than the countryside, for instance goods are more expensive there (“Rural area”, n.d.). In the country, most people have the sufficient economy. They can grow plants and breed animals so expenditures are lower and they can live on their own. The country life is simple and comfortable. Nevertheless, to rent a house, to buy food and to use a transport is more expensive in the city but the

There are definitely more conveniences living in the city. Grocery stores are within blocks from your home, a gas station is to be found on every corner, and banks and hospitals are within walking distance. Living in the country means commuting to get to these places. It also means having to be prepared and making several stops to get all things accomplished in one day to avoid traveling back and forth several times in one week.

Urban society is highly structured society. People are aware in urban society. Rules and responsibilities are defined. Urban society is a fast pace of life. People know their rights, needs and their problems. It is a developed society. People are social. They do not have time to sit together and have a chit chat with each other. People even do not have time for their families. All members of the family live in separate rooms and they do not have time for each other.

Some people believe it is better to grow up in an small town. Other people think it’s better to grow up in a big city. What is your position on this issue, and what reasons support your position?

Although living in the city has many advantages there are some disadvantages too, the cost of the living is very high in the city, the city is always noisy, no fresh air and pure water. So it is hard to lead a healthy life. On other hand the village the undeveloped area for example, we cannot easily get many facilities the insufficient medical and education facilities, few opportunities to make money, little entertainment, no or little public transportation, also less facilities than a big city offers.

This city also has a large, well equipped hospital in case of an emergency, it also has a doctor's office inside to ensure all of the population has adequate access to professionals who can keep them healthy. This city is also very active. There are bike rentals in multiple places across town where you can rent a bike for as long as you desire. There are also various types of fields and courts where you can play a variety of sports. There are tons of parks and gardens where you can walk and run. With so many options there is no excuse not to be active in this city. This city is also very fun and pleasant to live in, for many of the same reasons I just mentioned. There are plenty of activities, it is clean, and it is environmentally friendly. There are tons of activities. You can walk, bike, run, go to museums, play sports, and go shopping just to name a few. There is no way you can be bored in this city. This city is also very clean. There are no fossil fuels because all of the city’s power is renewable. This gets rid of any smoke or haze from power plants. Packaging is minimal and efficient so there isn’t any trash to clog the streets. The city is also very well kept after. Any trash that may be found on the streets or in the parks is taken to the recycling facility where it is recycled. These reasons keep this city socially sustainable.
