Hair! Am I right? I will attend a beauty school to become a Cosmetologist. I live with my mom and younger brother. I grew up doing different things with my family’s hair, especially here recently.
Cosmetology involves many different areas of beauty, so why just learn how to do one part of it. My senior project will be a visual demonstration of those aspects of beauty. The research paper will have what I learn from my interview, the education put into being a Cosmetologist and where it could lead me.
I have experience with hair-styling and coloring, but not so much with cutting or doing makeup. After the proper education, my family and friends can come to me and trust that I can take care of their hair. Even though there may be some conflicts
Going through cosmetology school gave you the expertise you need to cut and style hair. People come to you because you make them look and feel their best. Unfortunately, you never know when an accident can happen, and no amount of training or professionalism can prevent every mishap. When these things do occur, you want to make sure you and your business are protected with the Cosmetology Insurance Program through Foy Insurance.
Explain how a change in career could result in a client seeking out a new cosmetologist. People who have a change in career might want to get a new look so they look more put together and professional.
Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people’s hair. When I was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would like to open up a mini-salon out of my own home someday.

In order to become a cosmetologist, I will have to take certain steps. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, I must graduate from a state-licensed barber or cosmetology school. I must also have a high school diploma or equivalent. The ages vary from state to a state of how old I have to be to attend a hair school. Most states require that I to be at least 17 or 18 to apply. There are some states that will allow enrollment at the age of 16.After I have graduated from a state-approved training I will be required to take a test. The test will be a written test and/or in some cases it may be a test of styling skills or an oral exam. When thinking about opening a salon you should learn about all the cosmetology schools in your area. In bigger towns and cities there should be a few of them so you should get in contact with all of them. Leaving any of them out might ruin your chance for new employees and business that could expand your salon and spa even more. If you are opening a salon and spa near the school you went to you might already have connections with the teachers and administration there, so it would be a good place to reach out to first. Schools often like it when the salon reaches out to them first because teachers often call multiple salons to find out recent trends and price lists but get no response back. It is always good to keep in contact with all of the instructors from the cosmetology schools just incase they have questions about local
Traditionally, cosmetology is a career choice dominated by women, but traditions are made to be broken and these days, traditions are being blown to smithereens by enterprising, passionate and pioneering people, just like you. Although I cannot say that I have always known what I wanted to do with my life, I have always had a love and passion for hair, nails, makeup, and really anything to do with beauty. Between four sisters, friends, slumber parties, and formals, I have found my love for beauty and have obtained a large amount of practice. As a result of my experiences, my desire for cosmetology has brought me to Paul Mitchell the school. I have decided to attend Paul Mitchell because this school can help further my future education in cosmetology. I am confident that it is the perfect place for me, it will help me achieve my future goals and dreams, and I believe that I am a good student for this school.
A person in this career field definitely needs to be an outgoing person because this occupation requires being around a lot of people. They need to have customer service skills and be a polite and pleasant person. A cosmetologist needs to have good listening skills because when a client comes in they are going to have requests and needs that the stylist is going to need to meet. They want to be creative and keep up with the latest hair trends that their clients are going to want. A cosmetologist needs to be very organized and have time management skills. They have to keep track of schedules and make sure they can get through with a client on time to get started with the next one (“Summary”). A good life experience to have would be being able to actually do other’s hair and makeup and making sure you are always learning new styles. When I to collage I want to study cosmetology and become a professional cosmetologist. I would like to be a cosmetologist because first off I love makeup and hair second, my sister Marissa went to school for cosmetology but was unable to finish due to a pregnancy so I really want to do that for her but she may go back once the baby is big enough. Cosmetology interests me because I love that you can come up with different styles and designs for hair and makeup plus I love to be creative.
Before I graduated from high school, I devised a five year plan for myself. First, I would attend SUNY Albany to obtain a degree in business. Then, I would attend a cosmetology school, acquire the 1,000 hours needed to take my state board exams, take those exams to finally secure my cosmetology license. All of this would eventually lead to opening my own salon in the future. About a month before my graduation, an ambulance bolted my mom to the hospital.
A survey certified that average women spend about $13,000 on makeup in her life time. Not only that, but also spend 300 hours applying it. Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years. Cosmetology has played an important role in lives of women, it does not only represent beauty, but also self confidence.
Growing up I always use to like doing my hair, as well as my mothers and sisters hair. I began to do my own hair for school at the age of nine. About six months before I graduated high school, I participated in a fundraiser to support breast cancer /scholarship contest at Aveda Institute, which is a cosmetology school. I saw many creative and talented students at the event, it was amazing! I assumed it was a sign, so as soon as I graduated high school I registered at Aveda. I truly believed that cosmetology was what I wanted to make a career out of, because I enjoy making people feel more confident about their physical appearance. However, attending the institute emphatically demonstrated a sneak preview of what life had in store for me.
