Since I did not have a mentor nor spent time with someone to learn about cosmetology, I done a lot of research to learn about cosmetology. Cosmetology is a very great experience to go to school for. It's not just about hair anymore. When you go to school for cosmetology is about hair stylists, barbers, estheticians, manicurists and pedicurists, and theatrical and performance makeup artists. Times have changed from just being a barber or a hairstylist, it has blossomed into so many other great opportunities for people to learn and explore new adventures. Salons need to stay current on the new trends and style within the hair industry and a local cosmetology school can help with that. Keeping a current relationship with the local school can help with the technicians learning new techniques from the local school. Most schools hold training classes and continued education courses for current stylist. The school may contact the salon and make them aware of upcoming courses and the manager will relay the messages to the current techs at the salon. Or the Salon and Spa owners will set up training courses to be taking at the salon.

Cosmetology is an interactive course that allows the students to be able to appreciate the current and the future trends as the industry demands increase. The course will be trained by highly qualified teachers who have been in this field and have even applied the concepts of thought in the course with the aim of solving some of the challenges that we as humans face during our daily activities. There shall be a lot of teamwork as the students shall be taken to different industries where the aspects taught have been applied, here they may be required to make reports of what they learnt from these visits, and which they shall present in class. Cosmetology is a very artistic career. Cosmetology is the study and application and the beauty treatment. Branches of specialty ranges anywhere between hairstyling, skin care, cosmetics, manicures/pedicures and electrology. A person that is employed in this career would cut, style, dye and wash their clients hair the way that the client wants it. Plus, they have the skills to do professional manicures and pedicures with a special design if that is what the client wants.
Being a hairstylist, it is all about the skills: The artistic skills, the communication skills, also, the skill to be patient and respectful. Some people have a difficult time trying to obtain all of these skills. Hairstylists have a tough job. No one really understands what the stylist goes through. The pressure to get things right and to make the client happy is a complicated situation.
