In “Controlling Government” and “Saving the Children” i have found that they both are similar in the facts that they both talk of the effects of Authoritarian Governments.

In “Controlling Government” it talks about how there if is one ruler who does what he pleases it is a Authoritarian Government and it tells what it is like in that style of government, “ Authoritarian governments might hold elections and they might have contact with their citizens, but citizens do not have any voice in how they are ruled.” This shows how the Government controls over people, making them have no choice or understanding of freedom.

In “Saving The Children” it talks about how people suffered under a Authoritarian Government “The Holocaust refers to the actions taken by Adolf Hitler's Third Reich (Nazi Germany) in the 1930s and 1940s, when Nazi Germany invaded European nations to expand its regime. The Nazis were intent on annihilating Jewish people and certain minority groups. Millions of Jews were transported to concentration camps, forced to do hard labor, and eventually killed. Resistance against the Third Reich could mean severe retribution, “ people were oppressed and killed as they did not fit in with a dictators belief, …show more content…

In “Controlling Government” it is talking about the differences between Democracies and Authoritarian Governments as “One simple way to categorize governments is to divide them into democratic and authoritarian political systems…..No nation falls entirely into either category. It is also dangerous to categorize a nation simply by the moment in time during which they were examined. The Russia of 1992 was very different from the Russia of 1990. Both democratic and authoritarian governments change over time, rendering the global mosaic uncertain and complex.” this talks about how there are two types of governments, and that governments are constantly switching between the two
