A good learning environment must not allow for students choice because the teachers has more knowledge than students. For example, when I was a freshmen in Clear Lake High School. My favorite subject is math because I’m good at it and also math is interesting for me. My Algebra 1 teacher was Ms. Brodus. Her class rules was so strict. She always told students to put their cellphones away but, she was so enjoyable, delighted and pleasant talk to. Also, she always gave her plenty of time to every students. She was so organized about her every assignment. Whenever a student has trouble in any problem she helps them. She always teach each problems step by step so, the students can better understand. She always shows students two ways how
When I was 5 I went to Eisenhower elementary my teacher in kindergarten was Mrs. Herbst. All of my teachers were just ok but then in fourth grade I had an awesome teacher named Mrs. dune she gave us an extra recess and just gave us candy if we were good. She had us play with computers if we got are work done.
Of the many classes that I chose to take, my two favorites were an English course and Health course. I may want to be a K-9 Officer, and these have few things in common with that career goal, but they were my favorite courses because of the professors who taught the course. Janice (Meredith) Privott for the English course, and Matthew Harpold for the Health course. These two teachers helped push me to better myself in almost every way. Mrs.Privott helped me on a personal level with stress and trauma; from her support she made me a much stronger person. Mr.Harpold helped me with my self-esteem, he took the time to help me when I needed it, even when I wasn’t in his class, just as Mrs.Privott did.
There is a quote that I have embraced during my professional journey I like that state, “The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. As a product of the Muscogee County School district, my life mirrors that statement. If it were not for my awesome teachers I would not be the person and teacher I am today. Growing up poor, I lived in Wilson Apartments and attended Fox Elementary School. It was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Vignery that ignited my passion to become a teacher. She would always hold my hand and made me feel loved despite my many issues. As a result, I wanted to pass this love to my students. I cannot remember not one single thing that she taught me, but I will never forget how she made me feel. I find myself holding
My second grade teacher Mrs. Balzer was one of my favorite teachers through elementary school. Everyday after school while I was in her class waiting on the bus she would say "Dillon would you like a cheese stick?" Though cheese sticks was not my favorite snack and I didn't want to sound rude so i would say "yes ma'am." Learning was starting to change through grades there were more books, more homework and more classes. Another favorite teacher of mine was Mr. Britton. He was always there helping me struggling on an assignment, and always asked me to go run papers to them office for him or go make
For example, I would not have been able to fulfill the pillar of scholarship if it had not been for my teachers at Mediapolis, Black Hawk, and West Burlington who taught me not only how to learn, but the value of learning. They taught that one has to work hard to get anywhere in life. Furthermore, Mrs. Henderson, my Talented and Gifted teacher at West Burlington, taught me that regardless of how smart I think I am there is always more to learn. Moreover, this was an important lesson for me to learn because when I was younger I thought that I was a genius. However, now that I am in high school I know better and am very grateful for her words of wisdom. Again, it is only thanks to my wonderful teachers that I learned the value of education
For middle school, I had one great teacher that I really enjoyed. It was during my last year in middle school and I had Mr. Weisend. I met him at food lion one day sophomore year and I was so happy to see him. I’d just like to say thank you too him for always making class interesting and always giving us free time at the end of class. He also let me be a teacher assistant and that was fun because after cleaning I got to play games. He even impacted my life through social media by encouraging me.
In my 12 years of being in school, I have had a lot of different experiences with many different teachers. Some good and some, unfortunately, bad. I have had many favorites and some teachers that I couldn't wait until I dint have their class again. One teacher that I am so Grateful to have had is my 7th grade geography teacher Mrs. Gribble. Mrs. Gribble inspired me to always go after what I wanted, do my best at all times, and live my life according to me.
Throughout all my years, I have liked many of my teachers. There was one teacher who is my absolute favorite, Mrs. Burger. I had the opportunity to be in Mrs. Burger’s math class for two years. In 7th grade, I had Mrs, Burger for prealgebra and when I first met her I thought she was going to be super mean. As the year went on, I learned that she was actually a really cool teacher if you stayed on her good side. Towards the end I was a little upset that I would have to leave her class. When our schedules came out for our 8th grade year, I saw that I would be in Mrs. Burger’s class once again for Algebra I. That was the year that I got really close with Mrs. Burger. She was always making the class laugh, but made sure that we stayed on task.
Wiest took the time to listen to my troubles and work with me outside of class. She even invited me to come drink tea in her office if I needed a break or was not feeling well. But more importantly, she helped me put everything into perspective and I made some tough decisions. I cut down on my work hours, took a few months off from orchestra, took less volunteer opportunities, and learned to prioritize my responsibilities. Mrs. Wiest also helped me with my work when I was falling behind and let me take her finals at different times to balance my work load. I panicked when everything got difficult, but she supported me. If any teacher has made an impact on me during my academic career, it was certainly Mrs. Wiest. She goes above and beyond for her students and wants everyone to succeed. With her help, I was able to succeed during a very rough
She was always excited for her work and tried to get her students excited too. She was never condescending and encourage students to speak up, even if they were wrong. I had never been in a classroom setting and the first couple of weeks were nerve wracking to me. Also, she let younger aged students into the high school classes if they felt they were ready for the work load and material being taught. I took anatomy when I was in either grade and I loved it. She helped me overcome my nervousness with her kind personality. Along with her kindness, she tried to get us involved in every way possible. Even if it was the simplest lab or the easiest question, she wanted us to learn. I took notice of how much work she put into her lessons and the time she took to grade our homework and add valuable input. She inspired me to work harder and put effort into what I was doing because of how much she was doing for her classes. She reminded me of Miss Ferenczi quite a bit. The way Miss Ferenczi had her students talking about the new information after class is how I felt about my science teacher’s class. To this day, I still mention information my science teacher taught me. She is a wonderful lady and has made a great in-pact on my
My high school art teacher, Jackie Tingle, inspired me to create and further my education in art. Through her constructive criticism and her wonderful teaching skills she easily allowed me to develop my own skills as an artist. In a world full of two-dimensional characters, I found it amazing that she was a successful artist. Before I met her, I did not know it was even remotely possible to have a career in art. To this day, I still have respect for her and how she carries herself. Even at times when students treated her disrespectfully she remained professional.
She’s the type of person who would literally do everything in their power to help and see that you succeed. I still remember the first day of school when I entered her classroom, just fully expecting her to be the worst teacher ever, due to made up rumors the year before and honestly, I’m glad to say that she proved those rumors wrong. In fact, she’s generous, sweet, kind, adorable,
Throughout school I never valued my teachers in the ways I should have. I never tried to connect or bond with anyone, it was just school. Some teachers will go above and beyond to influence their students, and they are the ones who have a true passion for their career. As a kid I hated school, but what kid didn’t? We went because we had to and we longed for going home. Out of all the teachers I’ve had as a young kid, one teacher I will never forget was my 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Nix.
In the sixth grade, I had Mrs. Adams; she was so much fun and amusing. She was a really good teacher and we did many activities to help us learn. Then I had Mrs. Teresco. She was the funniest teacher I ever had at S.M.I. She joked around and made everything she taught fun. I had Mr. Jensen for all of middle school. With Mr. Jensen, my class always had deep and interesting conversations about random topics. Finally I had Miss Baker as my teacher and we played a vocab game. It was a ball with words on it and when it was thrown to someone they had say the definition of the word their thumb landed on. My class loved playing that game because they liked to see what words people would get out on. For two years she had to put up with all the chaos my class made. In fact, all my teachers had to put up with the upheaval my class created in their
For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher.
