Despite the many differences in Canada’s and China’s education systems, there are a few similarities between them. In both countries, it is mandatory for children to receive a a certain amount of education. Chinese children must get at least nine years of schooling, which is funded by the government. On the other hand, Canadian children must get education up to the age of sixteen (ages may vary between various provinces.) The subjects taught in both countries are also alike. Mathematics, history, and fine arts are some examples of the shared subjects.
A country’s economic system decides its education system. Since China and Canada have different economic systems, China is developing on a diversified ownership economy, while Canada is running its economy by pure capitalism. It is obvious two different education systems run in those two countries respectively. And from my personal experience and some hearing from my friends, I found five main disadvantages of China’s education comparing with Canada’s education.
The American Revolution was an accelerated evolution rather than a cataclysmic revolution to a certain point. An accelerated evolution is a rapid process of growth and change, while a cataclysmic revolution is a sudden and violent event that brings great changes. The extent to which the American Revolution was an accelerated evolution was during events that completely disregarded the government. When considered politically, economically and socially the extent to which the American Revolution was an accelerated evolution, instead of a cataclysmic revolution is shown.
We have all been in a situation where we have immigrated to a new country for different reasons regarding, better future, or education. In the book Jade of Peony, Wayson Choy describes a struggle of a Chinese family as they settle in Canada, with their new generation of kids born here, the family struggles to keep their children tied to their Chinese customs and traditions as they fit in this new country. The Chinese culture needs to be more open minded as it limits the future generation’s potential. Chinese culture limitations are seen through the relationship expectations, education, gender roles and jobs.

In my view, I contributed a lot to the process and the outcome of the project. I searched for tons of information about cultural differences between Canada and China on the Internet and conducted surveys of differences of clothing and foods in the Masonville Mall and some local restaurants. Also, I divided cultural differences into five categories, which are clothing, food, housing, transportation and daily Canadian customs. In the whole process, I made great efforts to collect information as much as possible so that various information can be included in our app designing. What I did in the process laid the groundwork for the outcome. Meanwhile, I came up with designing an app in the end of our project and devoted myself to design the layout of our app as well as the content, which is conducive to show our project more clearly.
Each country has its own kind of education, and education always plays an important role in affecting students’ life and study on many aspects. Having received ten years of education in China and two years of education in the U.S. I would like to compare and contrast a few significant aspects of these two different kinds of educations. Knowing that no two education systems are the same, the differences between American education and Chinese education allow countries to take the essence and discard the dross through learning from each other so as to improve their own current education systems.

All children are entitled to a quality, and safe learning experience which accommodates to their needs.
