The United States has been widely accepted as a country where anyone can come and make him or herself into something out of nothing. It is the self-proclaimed “land of the free and home of the brave”. While all these glorious statements about America were once true, sadly now they are false. Every year our International upward-mobility ranking regresses, meaning it is becoming harder and harder for Americans to move up the financial ladder. But how is it that a country that has the largest GDP can be outside the top 10 in upward-mobility? Why is it that the most powerful and wealthy country in the world doesn’t have free/universal healthcare? How is it that while other nations have begun promoting free college tuition we have refused to do so? This is because the United States does not have a welfare state like the Scandinavian countries do. The United States isn’t a welfare state because Americans have an irrational fear of becoming “socialist”. Ever since the Cold War Americans have had a baseless fear of anything that resembles socialism, claiming it is anti-American. Some of the people who live in constant terror of a socialist America are our right-winged conservatives who have went out of their way to make sure there is minimal government intervention in all aspects of our lives. Though Venezuela and The United States are located in the western hemisphere, they are both very different culturally, politically, and socially. The United States is one of the world’s richest nation whereas according to Francisco Toro of Vox.com, Venezuela has, “the world’s highest inflation rate” (Toro). Though the United States has its own problems, they’re very minor compared to Venezuela as according to the same article by Francisco Toro, “Venezuela has become the world’s most visibly failing state” (Toro). Venezuela and The US differ when it comes to migration, culture, politics, economy, urbanization, and agriculture. Venezuela and The US differ greatly when it comes to population and migration.

Government: United States vs. United Kingdom On July 4th, 1776 the United States became a country to evade the ways of Great Britain, but in all reality, the United States government is very much the same as Great Britain today. When you think of the United States, you think of Democracy, but it isn’t far from the monarchy of Great Britain. Although there are some differences between the government of the United States and the United Kingdom, there are vast similarities between the two.

The thing that surprised me the most while conducting research is Finland can be very similar and also very different to the U.S at the same time. United States and Finland are very similar in many ways. In both countries, people use technology and social media in their daily lives. There is also a technology addiction problem in the U.S and Finland. Their food, schools, shopping centers, and stores are very similar to those in the U.S. Finland and the U.S can also be very different.

The governing body of each country can be drastically different, although many governments share some of the same aspects. The United State’s government and England’s government share many similarities, however, each of our country’s officers and officials are very different. Both the United States and England have cabinets. England and the United States share many aspects but enough differences in order to make these two countries operate differently. When the United States broke off the ties with Great Britain in 1776, using the Treaty of Paris, America experienced several different aspects of the United Kingdom.

North America was originally colonized by Europeans in the 10th century by Norse sailors who colonized what are now parts of Greenland and Canada, followed later by many European nations including; Great Britain, France, and Spain. The most notorious and first of these Europeans was Christopher Columbus who began colonizing America in 1492 on behalf of Spain. The reason for Christopher Columbus even finding North America was an accident due to he was sailing west in hopes of an alternate route to India but instead landed in the Caribbean.

Maui, Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, have many things in common, but little do people know they are actually quite diverse. I've got to experience both places, and compare them to each other.

Finland and USA have many different strategies when it comes to education. When it comes to school days, recess, and salary the US and Finland are the complete opposite. Each places have very unique ways of teaching compared to each other. Technology is used constantly in the US but is almost never used in Finland teaching. In my opinion I think that the US is better than Finland.

The first inhabitants, lived their 3,000 B.C. and were thought to be giants called the Huns, but were found to actually be just regular people, kind of like the American Indians. Another cool fact about The Netherlands, is that William Orange, led a revolution of Netherlanders who fought a lot like pirates, against many emperors who wanted control of the area. It’s common for countries to compare each other in different fields that play major roles in their status overall. One of the more valuable of fields being health care systems, a field that provides for the everyday lives of citizens. This field is heavily funded by the economy and with this comes the comparison between the US and UK. The comparison being, who’s system is better in terms of economics? Both fueled by the incentive of saving lives, yet with different uses of resources, prices, benefits, drawbacks and role that their select government plays.

While England is in the bottom among all healthcare industrial. Also, the US has Lower life expectancy then United Kingdom. In American literature there have been or still are many good writers. John Steinbeck is one of those whose name is still towards the top of the list of great American authors. Steinbeck grew up during some tough times, he lived through the Great Depression, The Dust Bowl and World War II. These events only made him a stronger writer because of the horrendous outcome they had on America.

The health care system of Norway is committed to providing health care services for all citizens regardless of income and to the principle of equal access to services. Accordingly, the health status of Norwegians is one of the best in the world, ranking much higher than that of the United States.
