Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln were beyond doubt individuals whose leadership was evident in their actions. Men of the country were not happy with the way their country was headed and change was needed. Caesar and Lincoln's accomplishments through their early years, some of which were failures, set the stage for their historical impacts in later years. Their legacy lives on even though they were assassinated before they accomplished all they wanted to do. Leadership, determination, honesty and courage are qualities that will never be forgotten. Julius Caesar was a tall, strong individual who was raised by his mother, as his father died when he was just sixteen. While his reforms helped the lower and middle class, opposition was felt by some members of the Senate. On the Ides of March, just a year into his rein, his life was ended by a coup. Abraham Lincoln was a tall, lanky built individual who displayed his muscular ability by splitting wood and rails for others. When he was just nine years of age his mother died leaving him devastated.
He became very close to his step-mother who encouraged him to learn to read although he received his formal education later in life. Over the years he pursued many jobs, sometimes failing, but he got right back up and tried again. He will always be known for his honesty thus giving him the name “Honest
Abe”. Lincoln worked his way up in the political field by being in the Illinois General Assembly,
United States House of Representatives and on to the Presidency of the United States. Many southern
Democrats feared that with the election of Lincoln slavery would be abolished and this lead to southern states seceding from the Union. During the Civil War he faced disapproval and defiance. He was facing a political battle which was abruptly ended when he was
