George Washington and Captain John Paul Jones have many different characteristics but they do have many things in common. In the story Valley forge is about how the soldiers have to survive these horrible wethers and all they can rely on is fire cakes. And there story Father of the American Navy, which is about battling the British ships. General George Washington is unique in many ways, such as he fights on land not on the sea. He also took very good care of his men because it says that he helped by getting inoculations to protect the soldiers from a disease called smallpox from spreading. In a way, through washington was a little strict hard to deal with. Because he sent his men on a 13_Mile walk in the harsh cold weather to Valley Forge Which imagine how hard it is. He also had his men starve and work all day, even though this maid them a little tougher in many ways it also help a lot by working together and just working on teamwork skills. And when Captain John Paul Jones had a battle and when the captain of the Serapis thought that Jones was dead, but then he was very determined because when he stood up and fought for another hour and a half and then he finally defeated the captain of the Serapis. They were also very good leaders because Washington took very good care of his men he made sure that supplies got to them such as shoes and brand new clothes for his men. And Captain John Paul Jones was a good leader because he leads his crew to the Serapis to a battle where they hunt down a ship and by five o'clock they were about a mile away from the enemy ship which that battle is one that they were able to

Second Washington was on land and Jones was a soldier on a ship fighting. And third, they were fighting different soldiers in battle like the navy and such. Those are some ways General Washington
Both works are very similar because of descriptive words of the historic event of Washington and his men crossing the river. When looking at the painting, the reader could see George Washington,
President George Washington was the military comander for the U.S. independence. He was a outstanding president because of his back ground of leadership. When he was in office, he realized how torn the country was from war. He knew he had to fix it some how
“Washington fought as a general in the army in the American Revolutionary War, which was from 1775-1783 and eventually gave America its independence” (Cox 893). Probably the most memorable moment in the war was in december of seventeen seventy six. Washington took his troops in freezing cold weather over the Delaware River to defeat the British and their mercenary hessians, which made a huge turning point in the war. In contrast, Adams wars were fought in the courtroom. He was from the north and went to law school at Harvard University (Peabody 37). His most notable event is when he defended British troops after the Boston Massacre had occurred. Eight soldiers were convicted of murder and Adams took their case and soon made history as all were forgiven of their
George Washington and John Paul Jones are very different people. But in some ways they are alike. For example, they both fought in the Revolutionary War. That was an example of how they are alike. You can compare and contrast many things, but in this case it is comparing George Washington and John Paul Jones.
George Washington possessed great leadership abilities that led to him being designated the General and Commander in Chief of the United Colonies. He was a Southerner who was very trustworthy and fearless. He had already proved his military abilities and was wealthy enough that he would not be tempted by corruption. He was able to attract soldiers and civilians to volunteer their civic duties and stand by him for the long haul, having a long term goal in view. He led his troops by example. He made sure he did not send his troops out into dangerous territory without he himself being
General Washington was respected not just by the rank and file, but also by people in all parts of the colonies. Although he did not inspire his men to fanatical loyalty as Napoleon or Nelson, the troops under his command knew they could count upon his valor, military judgment, and fair justice always. (Morison, p. 314-5) Everyone, from the highest gentleman in Congress to the lowest private in the Army, could depend on George Washington's character at all times.
Padraig Pearse and George Washington were both elected commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was the most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually surrendered, saving countless lives.
At the age of 23 years old Washington would become commander of the Virginia Regiment, ( Ellis, Joseph J, His Excellency, 24) although his men both more experienced and senior sought after him as their leader. His character and patriotism led directly to his selection as Commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Army. As commander-in-chief George led his army to a number of very important victories to include the capture of Boston with few defeats such as the trouncing of New York City. George lost many battles, with only one surrender, he continuously and persistently fought the British with unrelenting tactics he conspired the general strategy of the war. He oversaw the training and the organization of the army. Being unanimously elected upon Washington began his first term as President in 1789. He went on to serve for a second term ending his presidency in 1796. All that being said George Washington sounds like a stand up guy and that is why many Americans consider him to be a hero, but there are limits to the stories that are told.
Also in the Battle of Trenton George Washington stood up in his boat and clearly saying that the Confederate Army was not backing down. This act of George Washington’s was practically also telling his soldiers that they were going to fight on Christmas Day for a victory. On that night George Washington was showing great courage and great leadership. This simple act that he did was everything he knew this country needed. That night the Continental Army captured nearly one-thousand prisoners, supplies (which our country desperately needed), and equipment. So of course the Continental Army won.
George Washington was the most influential figure of his time, he lead our young nation to freedom with little military experience. Most people were drawn to Washington’s leadership and overall humbleness, he was a typical southern gentleman who was propper and polished. Although he knew he wanted to be a leader in his nation, he could have never known that roughly two hundred years later, he would still be the most influential figure in the Revolutionary War. So many things throughout his life shaped him into an excellent leader and he wouldn't have been the same without these challenges.
Through vivid descriptions of George Washington, I learned that he was not the best military leader. There were multiple times in the war where Washington was faced with difficult decisions, and proved to be very indecisive. Also, there were times where action needed to be taken, but he couldn’t decide what to do. Even though I learned Washington wasn’t as great as the history books explain him to be, it makes me respect him more to know that he, just like any other American, flawed.
They both had access to money because of the fact that they were both born to parents that had access to a plantation field. They were also privileged to be educated by outstanding schools and have military training. Also they were for the same cause of, “Advocating for freedom”. After their heroic actions they were known as the “founding father” for their nations. Although they took a similar paths to get in the position to lead their country, their military course of action were very different from one another.
George Washington 's strong, courageous, intelligent leadership was important because it brought the victory of the American patriots over the British in the Revolutionary War. George Washington and his leadership skills made this a great place. He paved the way for American Generals. George Washington was a great man who also lead us to victory. He also gave up lots of things to be general and president.
