Worshippers of Christianity are called Christians. The followers and worshippers of Islam are called Muslims. Christianity and Islam are two of the world’s largest religions. The two are different in beliefs but are similar in origin. Like many religions both Islam and Christianity claim to be the one and only true way to God. Although Islam and Christianity differ in major ways, they also share some similarities.
There are many similarities of the basic beliefs involving both Islam and Christianity. As many may already know, both of these religions believe in scripture, prayer, and have a place of worship. The difference of these facts are how these religions refer to the similarities mentioned. In example, the Islamic scripture is called the Qur’an as the Bible is the scripture used in Christianity. The place for worship is called a Mosque for Muslims were the place of worship for a Christian is referred to as a Church. In addition to these similarities, both of these religions have a worship day. Sunday is the day of worship for Christians as Friday is a day of worship for Muslims.
Muslims are followers of the one and only true God; Christians are the followers of the one and only true God. How can I say that? Well, ask each side who is right. In fact, ask each if the other is. I am looking now at the basic roots of both. There is only one God for them.
As two of the most followed religions in the world, Christianity and Islam are based upon the belief of one God whom created the world and cares for the behavior and beliefs of human beings. As both Christianity and Islam follow the Abrahamic religion and are similar in origin, there are very few differences in regards to beliefs and teachings that set them apart.
Islam and Christianity are two distinct religions, both believe that God is the source of each religion from which their beliefs are derived. Both religions believe that their belief system is the only true way to paradise or heaven. Even though Islam and Christianity believe that God is the source of their beliefs, Islam and Christianity have several similarities as well as many distinct differences.
The Muslim people disregard the fact that Jesus, who is the Savior for Christians, is the son of God. They also question his crucifixion; this is because Muslims do not understand how such hardship could be put upon Jesus (Houdmann). The religion of Islam is a works-oriented religion, while Christianity is based on salvation. This is by faith. According to Muslims, the Quran is the last revelation of Allah (answers). God specifically warned his people about adding to His Word. With this being true, the Quran directly goes against His teachings. Evidently, Islam and Christianity are very different.
Although the two religions are very different from each other, they also show some similarities. The main similarity is that Islam and Christianity both are monotheistic; meaning they believe in one god. Which are 2 out of the 3 major religions to be monotheistic. They believe that God is the creator of the universe. Likewise, both religions believe in the immaculate conception, when mary was blessed with a son as a virgin. They both believe that Jesus was sinless and pure and formed miracles, (Godlas, sec. 1).
Christianity and Islam are the two religions with great similarities of concepts while minute differences within both religions. Christianity having being a religion since last 2000 years obviously was a religion that dwelled as a “Soft Monotheism” meaning the concept of Trinity: presence of three personalities within one personality of God. While, it’s existence was related to the “Hard Monotheism”: only one God in the form of Judaism. Similarly having borrowed from both the religions, Islam in about 7th century adopted the “Hard Monotheism” from the Jewish belief. Islam and Christianity are both religions branched from Judaism, however one of the similarities that they both believe in is the concept of Jesus being the “Messiah” and the saviour and redeemer in the last days, when He will return. Whereas, according to Judaism, Jesus is not the “Messiah” after the concept of Messiah is that the one who will fight for their right and freedom.
Both Islam and Christianity have practices or duties that are central to the life of there religious community. Catholics are expected to take part in as many of the Seven Sacraments as possible, while Muslims are expected to practice all of the Five Pillars Of Islam. Both Muslims and Christians are monotheists, believing in the same god, referred to as “Allah” by the Muslims and “God” by Catholics. In this sense Islam and Christianity are considerably intertwined, appearing to come from the same beginning. Both Islam and Christianity are based primarily on the lives and teachings of men sent by God. In Christianity, Jesus was the son of God, sent down to earth to spread the word of the Lord to the people, and ultimately die a brutal death so that this people may reach eternal peace in heaven. Christians praise Jesus’ suffering for them as well as for his teachings and for the miracles he performed to assist the needy. Despite the fact that Islam and Christianity share a mutual God, Muslims do not believe that
Both Christians and Muslims may have similar backgrounds when it comes to believing in God, however Christians also have strong faith in the idea that God is a part of the Holy Trinity. Whereas Muslims strictly only worship one God. Christians also have the Holy Bible to help guide them through their faith, whereas Muslims have the Qu’ran to rely on. Both Muslims and Christians also have different of methods of showing off their religion. According to Define, a website dedicated to comparing multiple topics, states that Christians express their religion by praying at church and reading the Bible. While Muslims pray five times day and believe in God and the well known prophet Muhammad. However these differences are only set because of the different points of views the religions have on how they chose to believe in God. Overall both Muslims and Christians also simply just focus a lot on the idea of loving God’s

For Muslims, God is unique ,and He is not identified with Jesus because for them, Jesus is not God, Jesus was a prophet. Quran 5:72 illustrates what God said about Jesus:”Indeed, they disbelieved who have said,’God is the Messiah(Jesus),son of Mary”(Islam Guide: Some Basic Islamic Beliefs). In Islam religion, God is not a part of a trinity. This idea is pointed out by Quran5:73- 75 where God has said:”Indeed, they disbelieved who said ,’God is the third of three(in a trinity)’,when there is no god but one God.”(Islam Guide: Some Basic Islamic Beliefs)..Muslims believe in angels who are”honored creatures”that worship and obey God, acting only by His command (Islam Guide: Some
