When I was twelve I was introduced to a sport I barely knew by my Dad. I was introduced to College Football by my Dad. Ever since then it has stuck with me and it is my most favorite thing. My Dad’s favorite teams are the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan, because he attended both schools. Ever since he left college it was his favorite thing to watch and follow.
It all started watching games on Saturday with my Dad. Primetime College Football games are usually the most thrilling. All the game day hype shifts to primetime every Saturday evening. In the fall of 2012 we had the opportunity to go to Metlife Stadium in New York to see USC take on Syracuse. That game was the first College game I had been to live. The
There is possibly one thing my mother loves as much as me, Southern Miss football, and from an early age she passed it down to me. At less than two
The Temple Owls had a magical and fun 2015 season that saw them win 10 games, win the AAC East division and go to the Boca Raton Bowl.
The multi-billion dollar industry that is the National Football League (NFL), is on the losing side of the constant Tug-of-War between self-interest and mutuality of interest. For decades, the NFL’s only concern was ensuring high revenue and return of profit with little social responsibility. Due to social media and viral videos, however, social responsibility has become a focal point in mass media. Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL, knows this all too well. His undefined authorities overseeing the NFL, particularly pertaining to player “conduct issues”, currently have him under fire. Recently dubbed “The Enforcer” in 2012 by Time Magazine, Roger Goodell has been praised for his
The game was on the line, the only problem, I was on the wrong side of the line. November 1, 2015 my football season with my team, the Eureka Jr. Wildcats, had ended the night before in a decisive 52-8 victory in our league championship game, Capping off an undefeated season. Although the outcome of the season had be extremely fun and satisfying my mind was already thinking what next. I soon figured out next was, St. Louis Football University. St. Louis Football University, or STL FBU, is apart a national grid of 50 teams from across the country who compete in annual tournaments to crown a city as champions.
The article “Football Major, Basketball Minor?” by Ben Strauss (2015) asserts that whether athletes in college engaged and focused on general classes more or typically focused only on practicing sports. Ben mentioned that many athletes are spending more time on the practicing sports, and there are vast majorities of athletes in college are majoring in sports instead of learning general knowledges. However, he introduces two arguments from two professors separately, David Pargman and William D. Coplin. They all provided a beneficial ideas for the situation that commonly existed in college. Athletes majoring in sports may learn the knowledge which is about professional sports training skills and they can easily use these skills for future games
This was Tim Tebow’s second favorite game of the year, the Florida/Georgia game. The Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs were both ranked in the top 10, both looking for the tough win. In that game, the gators played more focus and more passion than ever because they wanted this game for Gator Nation. The winner would have a clear path to clinch the SEC Eastern Division and a possible shot at playing the National Championship. After the Bulldogs missed two field goals and failed to recover the onside kick after their first score, the Gators took a 14-3 halftime lead. In the second half, the Bulldogs turned the ball over four times and as a result the Gators took the advantage and turned the game into a 49 to 10 rout. Most of the Georgia
I wrote a couple weeks ago the five pivotal games for Florida which you can read here, (Florida Football: 5 Pivotal games for Gators in 2017). I ranked Tennessee at #5 and didn't think this was a "must-win" football game. As we saw a year ago, losing your first SEC matchup didn’t dictate the rest of the season. Unfortunately, things have changed and I firmly believe this is a "must-win" ballgame.
The Texans won nine games in 2014-15, but just two of those victories came against teams with a record above .500. Ryan Fitzpatrick, who started at quarterback the majority of Houston’s games last season, is suddenly the Jets starting quarterback. Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has yet to name a starting quarterback this season, setting up a battle between Ryan Mallett and recently acquired Brian Hoyer. In his rookie season, 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney played in just four games and failed to record a sack. Clowney will be expected to show the world why the Texans thought he was worth a No. 1 overall pick, and Houston will attempt to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

All over social media, especially Twitter, the Missouri State football team announced that they would not play in any further games until the current President Tim Wolfe was to resign or be fired. The situation sounds harsh but the reason for it is there has been racism around the campus and no one is doing a thing about it. This protest has made a huge impact and attention to the school as well as the President. I believe that what they were doing as a team was very powerful. If I were the president I would have done things a little differently.
My first experience on the UW-Madison campus was during my freshman year of high school, when our marching band attended Band Day at a Badger football game. Recently having come down with a cold, I had almost dreaded attending the game due to the heat, heavy uniforms, and a sore throat. Upon our arrival at Camp Randall, that feeling immediately went away. The atmosphere in the stadium was unlike anything I had felt before. The sea of red and white and the sense of community instantly overwhelmed me to a point where I no longer could be bothered by the heavy uniforms, scorching heat, or scratchy throat. I was sick the next year when the same trip came around, but I knew that just being back at Camp Randall, watching the Varsity Band perform

My father is a big football fan and even wrote in my baby book that he hoped I would grow up loving the game as much as he does. Well his dream came true as I am a self proclaimed football junkie. A few months prior to my Freshman year of High School I announced I would be
