The coach screams, “There’s three seconds left of the game Val, SCORE!” running so fast trying not to trip over myself; I swing the stick and hit the ball past the goaltender and shoot to assemble the score 8-7. “RING!” the scoreboard goes as the time ran out. I felicitate the other team and celebrate the victory with my teammates. Active is a great adjective to describe me: I’ve played sports my entire life. Can you imagine me being born with a field hockey stick in one hand and a basketball in the other? Can you spot a future Olympian coming out of the womb? I can. Wanting to be an athlete that succeeds and wanting to continue learning how to become an improving player can leave a legacy. How will people remember me, being the considerably …show more content…
My coach and family will certainly be euphoric to discern me at graduation. Hoping to remain industrious and self-effacing, but also to have a pleasurable time while doing all of these implements. I want these implements to be noticed by my peers and people that look up to me because I want them to notice how much the sports I play, for example field hockey and basketball mean to me. As well as, wanting to be noticed by multiple colleges, and the more fit words that are spread, the more scholarships I will receive. These specific people can help me have a more prominent sports career. I wish people would remember me as the girl everyone knows and looks up to because of her athleticism. I also want people to remember me as the girl who was exceptionally respectful and responsible in everything she …show more content…
I want to influence you to never give up and always try your best because this might be included with your legacy. Also, never forget to think of how you might want your legacy to be when you leave some place. Your legacy everywhere can help or hurt your future. Remember to always have that in your mind. “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” ~ Michael Jordan This quote is about how you don’t give up on any obstacles you come across, you can always find a way to get around them. I personally like this quote because it is written by a famous basketball legend that people look up to. I want sufficient amount of people each day to look up to me on my athletics, academics, etc. I’m inspired by this quote because it tells me to never stop trying and to always do my best no matter what roadblocks come into my
Now I believe that this is an extremely important motto due to the fact that you can use this in every aspect of your life as I stated above. If your mind and body are prepared for any obstacle that is thrown your way there is nothing that can stop you. This hits me strongly because I believe that when you set your mind to a goal in order to better yourself you need to set them out of reach so you continue to grow stronger as an individual.
Never give up, and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but difficulties which you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all the odds. (Marta)
“No matter how hard life pushes you down, no matter how much you hurt, you have to bounce back.” and “ If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will.” were both very great quotes from Sheryl Swoopes. These quote are something I do think about in basketball practice. I think of it when I feel like I’m about to give up. Swoopes was nicknamed the “Female Michael Jordan” for great
Ever since Kevin Garnett, a teenager who by-passed college, was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 1995 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, more and more high school teenagers have been making the jump straight to the pros. Since the league draft of 1995, 17 first round picks have been high school players. This means that about 7 percent of first round draft picks in the NBA have been high school teens skipping out on their college education to make the jump to the NBA (Chylinski).
"The path to your success is not as fixed and inflexible as you think." This is one of Misty Copeland’s famous quotes that I really love. It inspires me and tells me that the path to success isn’t going to be easy, you’ll have to work and hit a few bumps to get to your goal.
I chose this quote by Michael Jordan because I believe in facing fears. Plus, it tells that fear is the only limit to not doing something. Fear is the only thing that stands between you and your goal. For example, imagine you really want to go skydiving, but you are too scared. The fear that is gripping you is the only thing standing between you and what you want to do.
Jazz composer Duke Ellington said the quote ‘A problem is a chance for you to do your best.’. I think this quote is said to inspire, and empower you to keep going when you're down and to help you get back up I agree with this quote because it is very uplifting, inspirational, and empowering to push through your mistakes. The quote also says to positively change your mindset, make the most of the problem, and to apply more of yourself.
All my life, I have participated in sports. I ran track and cross country, and played volleyball, basketball, and softball. After all those years in multiple sports, I acquired endless amounts of participation trophies, medals and ribbons. These awards were given to me in hopes that I would continue to engage myself in the sport or to feel like my contributions to the team mattered. The adults might have even hoped I would fall in love with the sport. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I ended up quitting all of those sports excluding softball going into high school. I was not even that bad of a player. I actually was on the A team for a majority of the teams.
I knew early in life that my passion to play sports was undeniable. I was determined to be the best at every sport I played. That determination led me throughout my high school career to be a three-sport athlete since I was a freshman. I have received a varsity letter awards for baseball, basketball, and football. Senior year of my high school football season I was awarded captain of my team. My junior football season I was awarded honorable mention all league as well as honorable mention all area. Being a talented athlete, I continued to push myself to improve. I believe the drive to succeed came from deep within myself as dedicated team player to never let my teammates down without a fight. Besides sports I am active member of the key club for my school and frequently helped out with the miracle league foundation in Schnecksville, PA for kids with disabilities. Throughout my summers I have been helping out at a youth football camp having fun and teaching the youth about the sport of football. Throughout my high school years I’ve kept myself quite busy whether it be through athletics or just helping out where ever I can. Keeping up with
The saying, “Do not give up,” makes up a huge part of who I am. Constantly, in my day-to-day life, there is a challenge that I must face and conquer. Whether it be family, friends, soccer, or school, I have always had to persevere through the challenges that these things, and many more bring my way. In this case, perseverance is a giant part of my identity, and who I am. When something challenges me, I do not turn away, but instead I face it.
I plan on being a professional basketball player. There are lots of reasons I plan and want to be a professional basketball player. I love the sport and the jerseys you get to wear in the games. I also like the money you make but, you only get a lot of money if you play really good. The annual earnings are seventy-nine thousand and four-hundred sixty. The hourly earnings are thirty-eight dollars and twenty cent. You have to at least be in college for a year or two to play professional basketball. I’m going to college in Atlanta Georgia. I will play in college to so a scout can watch me play. If I play good in college I might get drafted out of college.
Instead of feeling pressure to conform as a student at the University of Georgia, I have found that being in college has made me value the importance of a higher education more so than I ever had before. During high school, my primary goal was to play well enough to receive a football scholarship. At that time, my focus was not on academics. However, since I've arrived at the University of Georgia, my entire concept of the value of a college degree has slowly changed. Rather than seeing just football in my future, I can now picture myself as a football player with a college degree. Consequently, instead of having a negative impact on my personal growth, college has helped me broaden as a person.
I have a few stories that connect to this quote. This quote just isn't about basketball it's about not giving up, chasing your dreams. Then also Learning from your failures, Learn off of what you didn't do. The first story I will be connects with not giving up and chasing your dreams. So I don’t want to relate this with basketball to show you that this quote isn't just about basketball. I'm going to relate this with my big move. Ok so where to start? I lived in my old house my whole life i just moved recently to go to this school. Which means I had to make all new friends which was very intimidating at first. I
For as long as I can remember, athletics have been a part of my life. I am an athlete who will put my everything into trying to be better. I’ve always been a shy person, but the field was where I was the most confident and I could be myself. That was until my junior year of high school, when a coach took the athlete inside me and turned it into a broken player who ended up hating the sport she loved. I had seen him hurt people before me, but I absolutely loved the sport so I thought I could handle it.
The meaning of the quote to me is to work hard,do your best, keep on trying, and never give up on yourself and on your dreams. for an example if you want to become a professional soccer player or a professional football player you have to work hard for instance the players you see on tv they worked hard to get where they are know they never gave up they kept on trying and they succeeded if you want to be like them, then start know and work hard in life do your work and get good grades in school because if you don't you might end up in the streets or maybe even end up in jail just because you didn't want to work hard and do your best in school.
