Who’s fault was it, the colonists, or the lobster backs? Both of them are at fault for several reasons. I believe that it is the British fault when they shoot up the colonists. In Document 4, the picture will show a biased opinion of the soldiers shooting up the colonists. This can be used as a biased opinion because the artist is only showing what bad the British soldier.
History has taught us that the Civil War was a time in which the southern states (South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas) seceded from the United States after President Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860. The southern (Confederate) and northern (Union) states divided and the southern states became an independent country known as the Confederate States of America. The Civil War was fought over slavery. Southern Plantation owners were the main ones doing agriculture. In order to take care of and harvest their crops, plantation owners bought humans, usually African Americans, to work their fields.
The civil war is considered the first modern war because of the equipment that advanced the way the armies would fight, travel and communicate. The weapons they used had increased fire range meaning that they could shoot the enemy at a further distance. They also introduced the use of land mines, hand grenades and torpedoes. The armies were using telegraphy which improved the army’s communication between each other and at further distances. The telegraphy not only improved the communication between the troops but it also improved the communication back home.

After declaring their independence from the Spanish Empire and (later) the Mexican Empire, the United Provinces of Central America experienced problems in their government. For years, the Assembly had been dissolved three different times and four Presidents were exiled. Despite the chaos, many Central Americans wanted to remain united; however, it wasn't enough to keep people at bay. The civil war began during the Mexican-American War in 1846. Case in point would be the fight between the North and South which would lead into the Civil War.
In the mid-1800s, North and South of the United States started a war with each other known as the Civil War. It all began with the attack on Fort Sumter on April 12th 1861. It was the bloodiest and saddest war in American history. The tension between the North and the South started to grow rapidly because their unity was replaced by sectionalism. The South slowly started to secede from the Union because of numerous reasons such as slavery and Abraham Lincoln.
In 1861 through 1865 the Civil War was fought to determine what kind of nation the United States of America was going to be. It was started due to the difference between the free northern states and the slave southern states. When Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, became president he pledged to end slavery in all states. This caused seven of the southern slave states to succeed from the United States and form a new nation called the Confederate States of America. This action triggered a war between the northern states and the southern states known as the American Civil War.

This whole war between the north and the south all started because of one thing. The South wanted slavery intact and the North wanted to keep the union together. The conflict was related to the topic of slavery; the Union tried to end it while the Confederacy tried to preserve it. However, there were certain events and abolitionists who contributed to the cause. One example would be John Brown.
During the mid-1800’s, the United States at that point could no longer find room to compromise on their views, and the secession of the South from the North showed the beginning of the Civil War. Both sides believed they were fighting for what was right: the Union for the equality and the Confederacy for the liberty of states’ rights. As there was virtually no room for compromise whatsoever, both sides perceived the other as trying to do what would work out to have the higher benefit for them. The sides both generally felt that the war was needed, but the Union felt that the war was a barrier in the growth of the country as a whole and the division was not how the country should stand.

Texas, the seventh state to secede from the North, contributes about 65,000 soldiers to the Confederacy, however, almost one-fifth of them lost their lives. So, there is one question that looms over us all- why did Texans choose to risk their lives for such a cause- why did Texas fight in the Civil War?
A Civil War is a battle between the same citizens in a country. The American Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine the independence for the Confederacy or the survival of the Union. By the time Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1861, in the mist of 34 states, the constant disagreement caused seven Southern slave states to their independence from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America. The Confederacy, generally known as the South, grew to include eleven states. The states that remained devoted to the US were known as the Union or the North. The number one question that is never completely understood about the Civil War is what caused the war. There were multiple events that led to the groundbreaking, bloody, and political war.
