Into The Wild In the book Into the wild a man named Chris McCandless from El Segundo California would do anything to benefit himself. Chris McCandless decided to give up his 25,000 dollars from his savings and give it to a charity. Chris also cut up all his cards and burned all his belongings including his car. Although Some people may believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild because he had mental illnesses and others believe that he was going through some bad home situations. I believe that McCandless compassion is the most enigmatic part of his story. It is clearly central to his personality for his whole life he spends in weeknights in high school bringing burgers to homeless people and yet he shows almost no compassion in dealing with his parents once he is in college. He willingly and intentionally leaves them in a state of unhappiness while he travels, and his disregard for his own safety and wellbeing.

The climactic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual revolution (163) Chris was not satisfied with the world so he felt really fulfilled going into the
Overall, Chris McCandless was a smart young boy who was raised into the wrong society and he chose to be the way he was. Going into the wild was what Chris needed in order to get away from everybody and find his reality. By the end of his journey he did just that and was ready to come back and experience life from a different point of view. Unfortunately, Chris was unable to come back and show everyone the person he found himself to
Chris Mccandless’s motivation was for staying in the woods was for the excitement and rush. Chris is known for many of his specific traits as a person. His stubborn nature or arrogant personality but, one of his very apparent attributes were his self-reliance and his love for nature. He found nature to be an unknown. An unknown that he would turn into a familiar territory. According to Chris, “Tramping is too easy with all of this money. When I was penniless and had to forage around for my next meal.” (Into The Wild 33). Christopher enjoyed the wild because you had to take risks and you always had an adventure every day. Into the Wild is a book about a young man named Chris McCandless and his decision to go off and live in the wild. He decided to walk deep into the Alaskan wilderness and abandon all of his possessions and family. This book is the authors, Jon Krakauer, version of Chris McCandless’ story put together through interviewing and speaking with people who knew Chris as well as by using letters Chris wrote to his loved ones.
In the book, Into the Wild, Chris McCandless is a young man in that has lived a rouggh family life and just wants to be alone. He decides to take a journey to Alaska but goes to many other places before and placing a spot in everyone he meets heart. In Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer characterizes Christopher McCandless as an intelligent idealistic man and a great influence on others.
Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild gave insight into the life and thoughts of a young man. Although at times dramatic (which young adult isn’t?), Chris McCandless shares many qualities with other young wanderers of society. Unlike most of us, he decided to live life accordingly to his beliefs in the now and not wait around for life to experience him. I agree with Krakauer that Chris wasn’t a maniac or outcast because besides all of his indifferences, he got along well with others’; he was, oftentimes, immature and irrational in his thoughts about situations.
Despite critics’ views of Chris McCandless as arrogant and idiotic, Into the Wild proves that McCandless was a fearless man on a journey for true happiness. McCandless kept a journal recording his physical and mental experiences while on his journey to the Alaskan wilderness. His journey was a quest for ultimate freedom and inner happiness.
Into the wild is a movie about an ideological person, Chris McCandless. He resents the world of materialism
Throughout the book Into The Wild written by Jon Krakauer, the author tells the story of Chris McCandless, a man born in a wealthy family. McCandless allows his wandering thoughts and moral code guide him in a way that lead to certain death. His parents, Billie and Walt McCandless set him up for an impressive, promising life. However, Chris gives up this promising, successful future and spins into a journey filled with idealist literature and danger that skews his world view. Even though some people think he is a narcissistic, deeply-misplaced young man that betrayed the emotional trust of his parents, some think he is an ideal hero wanting to free himself from the pressure of his family, fame, and money and follow his own path in order to
Krakauer also states, “At long last he was unencumbered, emancipated from the stifling world of his parents and peers, world of abstraction and security and material excess, a world in which he felt grievously cut off from the raw throb of existence”, (22). Going into the wilderness all Chris wanted was to be cut off from the world, completely isolated from everyone and everything. The independence Chris had was unbelievable, he traveled many different places and learned how to survive, depending on no one by himself, a trait few people possess. Chris also showed the persistence he had in the book through the struggles he faced in the wilderness. A man he met while on his journey names Walt talked about him as “...he was supremely overconfident.
The book Into the Wild is a book about a transcendentalist named Chris mccandless. The ideas, beliefs and actions of Chris have been strongly debated on whether or not they are crazy. John Krakauer makes an accurate argument, saying that Chris is not crazy. Krakauer can relate to Chris in many ways, which is why Krakauer is a great author for this book.
Have you ever wanted to just take off and see the world with nothing holding you back? Well that is exactly what Chris McCandless wanted and he did it. Into The Wild is about a college graduate that had conflicts with his parents and did not want them to be in his life anymore. Chris succeeded in this by taking a journey across the united states, changing his name, and not telling anyone from home when he was going.
In the biography Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer, Chris McCandless makes the decision to try and live in the wilderness. With little food, no communication with the outside world, and dangers around every corner McCandless decides to try and survive. Possible character traits that McCandless had that caused him to make this decision are: thrill-seeker, overconfident, or he was just inspired and wanted to live poor instead of wealthy.
In the book into the wild Chris McCandless is trying to escape reality, and be free. You can never put a price on freedom especially Chris’. In Chris’ attempt to escape reality he finds himself all over again. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for a while.
In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless makes an “extreme” decision to give away or burn all of his money and live in poverty, without a home. This rash decision had both severe consequences and great rewards. For example, McCandless realizes the true meaning of happiness in life and comes to the realization that material wealth and ownership has no true value in life. However, he loses all connection with the world outside him and creates a huge amount of anxiety among his family members. All in all, McCandless has a life-changing journey that ultimately helps him realize what life truly is about.
In the book Into the Wild written by John Krakauer, Chris McCandless plans to abandon his life and live off the land, traveling from South Dakota all the way to Las Vegas and many other remote locations in the U.S. There was something inside of Chris that drew him into the wilderness. In May of 1990, Chris took off, abandoning everything and everyone and set off into the wild, where he had big plans for his next two years. In the summer of 1992, Chris McCandless turned up dead in Alaska. A series of unfortunate events led to his death. Even though things didn’t turn out how Chris planned, he achieved everything he wanted. Ever since he was young, he had a passion that could only be attained by leaving everything behind and living off of
