Childhood Observation: Burger King

Observation: This afternoon Krista, Lauren, and I went to McDonalds to see if we could observe some kids there. There wasn’t any there so we went to Burger King. When we walked in we sat our stuff down at a booth beside a little boy who smiled at us. When we went up to order another little boy came in and started talking to us in line. He was around 2 years old and kept saying “I.” I think he was trying to say hi, but it seemed like babbling. After we went back to our seat the boy in the booth behind us started talking to us. He was probably 3 or 4. He pointed out the window and said “what’s that?” Then he said, “It’s snowing!” Meanwhile his mother and his grandfather continued their conversation. When the grandfather noticed that the boy was still talking to us he said, “Are you flirting with those girls?” and the boy nodded his head. The grandfather then asked him which one of us he had a date with and he didn’t answer. …show more content…

Then he ducked down and said peekaboo. He then jumped back up and started pointing out the window at a truck that was leaving the parking lot. I said, “Yeah, it’s a cowboy because he has a cowboy hat on,” and the little boy said, “I don’t see cowboy.” I started talking to the girls again and he tried to get my attention back by tapping me on the shoulder and banging on the plastic booths.
