Observation: This afternoon Krista, Lauren, and I went to McDonalds to see if we could observe some kids there. There wasn’t any there so we went to Burger King. When we walked in we sat our stuff down at a booth beside a little boy who smiled at us. When we went up to order another little boy came in and started talking to us in line. He was around 2 years old and kept saying “I.” I think he was trying to say hi, but it seemed like babbling. After we went back to our seat the boy in the booth behind us started talking to us. He was probably 3 or 4. He pointed out the window and said “what’s that?” Then he said, “It’s snowing!” Meanwhile his mother and his grandfather continued their conversation. When the grandfather noticed that the boy was still talking to us he said, “Are you flirting with those girls?” and the boy nodded his head. The grandfather then asked him which one of us he had a date with and he didn’t answer. …show more content…
Then he ducked down and said peekaboo. He then jumped back up and started pointing out the window at a truck that was leaving the parking lot. I said, “Yeah, it’s a cowboy because he has a cowboy hat on,” and the little boy said, “I don’t see cowboy.” I started talking to the girls again and he tried to get my attention back by tapping me on the shoulder and banging on the plastic booths. Eventually he got out of his seat and came over so we could see him. Soon after we had to leave and he waved and said “bye-bye,” as we walked out the
When I was perhaps seven years old, surely no more than eight, I spent much of my summer at the local daycare; Lakeland's Little Learners was it’s name. I knew a lot of the kids there before I started attending (which I had been doing for a few years at this point) because we had all previously gone to another daycare in town, this one called Little Thinkers. However, due to parents not paying their children’s dues, (I dimly recall a vague understanding of a card checkout system indicating various forms of payment each night, and watching many parents not bother to mark it) it was shut down, and so we were all relocated to Lakeland’s Little Learners. One of the friends I was delighted to become reaquainted with at the new daycare was a boy
Today, as I was heading on the subway train at the 47th stop in Queens after a day of work in the construction department, I noticed a boy sitting on the cold cement reading a newspaper article. This got me by surprise because the kid was of such a young age and looked as if he had been through a war with the dirty and torn clothes he was wearing. I let my ride go and shifted my way over to the young lad. I said hello and he slowly looked up, trying to catch the last few words of the paragraph before focusing on me. After his slight hesitation to look upwards, the boy responded with a hello back. Before I could even ask where his parents are or anything else, he descended his head rapidly back to his newspaper and resumed to read on what looked

“Hi, Im Trevor nice to meet you. “ Does he think he can cover it up with a smile and a nice greeting. I knew what he did, but why? Trevor was clueless, did I say something wrong? He replied with a attitude, “Some boys were throwing snowballs at this guy.” I looked around eager to find these boys, yet frustrated they would even do such a thing. They vanished in a
While we were looking at gum, three boys from our school walked in. One thing you have to understand about these guys is that they’re pretty popular, and they’re a grade older. To our surprise, they waved, so we waved back and continued to talk and look at gum. My sister walked off to get a Slurpee, so my friend and I started talking. While we were talking, the
McDonalds (McD’s) and Burger King (BK) are key players in the fast food industry and have been competing for many years. They both provide similar food that is prepared quickly for a low price. So what sets them apart? The difference between McD’s and BK is their corporate culture – operational management. The manufacturing method at McD’s follows the “Doing It All For You” versus “Having It Your Way” at BK.
He presided behind the counter of a storefront New Jersey fried chicken restaurant, making his home with his family in an apartment above it. To some of his friends, Ahmad Khan Rahami was known as Mad, an abridgment of his name rather than a suggestion of his manner, and they liked the fact that he gave them free food when they were short on money.
Unlimited, endless, fast food choices, and yet there are two that stand out above the rest. McDonald’s and Burger King are the two biggest burger fast food chains in the world. The child that I chose to observe was a Caucasian female about five years old. She had light brown wavy hair and was wearing pink leggings with boots and a sweater. When I began my observation, the child was at the counter with her mother and her little brother ordering tokens and a pizza.
This Burger King advertisement, was released in Singapore in 2009 and has seen an array of scrutiny since its original release. The ad uses language and photo placement to insinuate certain sexual acts, that many found offensive. Therefore, customers, journalists, and even the woman featured within the advertisement, have given backlash to the major fast food chain in response to their rather scandalous ad. The photo featured within the ad was purchased from a third party stock photo company. Within this specific shoot the woman was asked to portray a variety of emotions. When the advertisement, was released and she was never informed that her photo would be used in such an inappropriate advertisement. The woman was so upset that she called for a boycott of Burger King until the ad was pulled.
Their food seems to be the same, but it isn’t. On one hand, McDonald’s hamburger weighs less and has only 9g of total fat, while Burger King’s hamburger has 12g and they have a saltier taste. On the other hand, Burger King’s beef are 100% pure and they flame-boils their burgers, while McDonald’s fries their beef. That’s why they taste different. Concern at cost, McDonald’s simple burger is lower at $0.89 while Burger King’s has their simple burger at $0.99.
I was in a restaurant and a mother came in with her around five years old boy. The boy was a loud voice for breakfast and he caught my attention due to his loud voice. He told his mother he wanted pancakes, when the mother said okay on the pancake, he shouted “Yeah!” Then, he asked his mom if he could play with his toy. The mother said yes and again, another loud “Yeah!”

Burger King is one of the most successful fast food restaurants in the world. Burger King has been very effective in applying their strategic vision and mission statement to build their brand. The leadership team has positioned Burger King for a path of continued domestic and international growth, because of a strong brand recognition and quality products. Burger King uses two generic strategies to deal with competition, they are differentiation and cost leadership. Cost leadership within Burger King is essential to minimize costs. This allows Burger King to control margins and operating costs. For Burger King to offer such competitive prices, they have to reduce operating costs, but at the same time they need to provide a quality product that the customers want. Burger King also uses a differentiation strategy. A good example would be the way they grill their products and the specific techniques they use for products such as the “Whopper”. The marketing teams has also formed slogans such as “Have It Your Way” and the most current slogan “Be Your Way”. These slogans attempt to form a differentiation pattern in the consumer’s minds. These marketing slogans are also used to attract new customers especially in the competitive market such as the fast food market. These techniques have allowed Burger King to reach out to new and current customers.
It was an August in 2011 when my family moved to the United States when I was twelve years old. Coming to this country, not knowing a single word of English is like going to an intensive war without artillery. On our way to Florida, we stopped to eat at burger king. Man! I felt that I was in a fancy restaurant. Back in my town, where they sell cheese burgers, the building was made of brick walls with no cement supporting the bricks and the roof of aluminum. Ordering was simple, writing down what you wanted. On the order hand, in burger king you have to verbally order your food. I can still remember what my mom was trying to say “Nome-row-Uno” with her hand doing signs. It was a struggle getting our order done.
