The protagonist is Hazel Grace Lancaster. She is a dynamic character. An example that is the fact that at the beginning of novel she wants to distance herself from society. Then she meets Augustus Waters. Augustus has the view of that everyone matters using metaphor to explain it. By the end of the novel she realizes that it's ok to let people in and that everyone will die eventually but you have live your life to the fullest. She's also a is a round character as we get a lot of insight on her option and life.
The antagonist of the story is not a person but cancer itself. The cancer limits the activities that Hazel and Augustus can do. People constantly judge hazel for her oxygen tank just because she's different the reason cancer is the antagonist is because it prevents all the main characters from what society defines as normal teen lives.
You could also say the antagonist could be Augustus Waters. The rasin for this is the fact the before hazel meet Augustus she was trying to not impact anyone in her life. Her main goal was to live without hurting anyone but Augustus get in her way.
Hazel grace Lancaster is one of the main characters in fault in are stars. We watch her physical grow weaker an example is at the beginning of the book she takes the stares and at the end she takes the elevator at her support group. The book is really about her mentally and philosophical grow and understand especially concerning death. At the beginning as I have stated she is obsessed with what negative effect she will have on people around her when she dies and refuses to get close to anyone. Also referring to herself as a grenade multiple times during the novel. A good word to describe Hazel is a brutally honest person.she knows that cancer doesn't define her. Unlike a lot of people she has no fluff when she talks about cancer an example is at the beginning of the novel when she says:Whenever you read a cancer booklet or website or whatever, they always list depression among the side effects of cancer. But in fact, depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side effect of dying. This honest approach is what keeps her going but also makes her very lonely. Hazel is also very humorous. I like her
the antagonist in this novel. Her brutal father beats her down and abuses her. He does
The antagonists in my book was Catherine Roerva Pelzer. She was David's mother. But she was a horrible mother. Because she would abuse her son very badly. That she almost killed him.
Focusing on micro examples in order to explain a macro concept is the basis of what Donald Wright wanted to do with his book “The World and a Very Small Place in Africa”. In this text, Wright explores the concept of globalization in the small country of Niumi, a country in West Africa with the Gambia river flowing through it’s land. With it’s position in Northern West Africa, Niumi was a major part in the expansion of Europeans for a great part of world history. This expansion impacted the civilization of Niumi during the European Colonial era, and after the colonial era. Globalization, a major theme in our lectures, was a controlling theme and major concept Mr. Wright discusses throughout this book. His micro connection with Niumi & globalization can apply to other
Augustus realizes that a lot of people let their cancer identify them, which it seems at first like Hazel does. Through the novel Augustus mentions multiple times how he wants his life to mean something other than cancer. “I fear that I won’t be able to give anything in exchange for my life. If you don’t live a life in service of a greater good, you’ve gotta
4. Emily is clearly the story’s PROTAGONIST. In the sense that he opposes her wishes, Homer is the ANTAGONIST. What other characters --or what larger forces -- are in CONFLICT with Emily?
The antagonist of the story would be the landlord, Rosemary and the other tenants of the home. This is because her portrayed way of life attracted the narrator to Rosemary’s house, which in return almost solely based his decision on living there. Later in the story Rosemary changed into another person that the main character almost could not recognize. With her change in appearance from vintage clothing to more updated clothing, as well as her almost disregard for her so much loved antiques when the main character first moved into the house. The other tenants, mainly the character Chaz, would constantly ridicule the main character and seem as if their lives were more how life should be lived.
In a subject and other relationship within a story, there is a protagonist and antagonist. According to dictionary.com, a protagonist is “the leading character, hero, or heroine of a drama or other literary work,” and an antagonist is “a person who is opposed to...” The leading character is also the main character, Cyrano. Cyrano spoke throughout the play, from the beginning to end, unlike the other characters. However, there was no evil force to be the antagonist, unless it was Cyrano’s nose. In the movie Cyrano said, “[Roxanne is] the light – I am all shadow!” Cyrano is not good enough to Roxanne to speak to her directly about his feelings. Light is also associated with good, and shadow is generally associated with bad. Roxanne may be the subject or
Hazel grace was remarkably negative during her cancer battle. A quote from the book is, on page 99, Hazel says “I’m like. Like. I’m like a grenade, Mom. I’m a grenade and at some point I’m going to blow up. I just want to stay away from people… because there’s nothing I can do about hurting you” She was saying that she is going to die and she wants to stay away from people so they don’t end up being hurt.
An antagonist is a person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something.

The main antagonist of the story is Jack Merridew. He is proven to be an angry, cruel boy from the very beginning, this is shown through his snarky comments and uncaring of others.
