Hazel grace was remarkably negative during her cancer battle. A quote from the book is, on page 99, Hazel says “I’m like. Like. I’m like a grenade, Mom. I’m a grenade and at some point I’m going to blow up. I just want to stay away from people… because there’s nothing I can do about hurting you” She was saying that she is going to die and she wants to stay away from people so they don’t end up being hurt.
Hazel grace is awfully lazy, since the time she found out she has thyroid cancer. Hazel doesn’t go outside the house; she stays inside and keep reading the same book or lies on her bed. A quote from the book is, on page 1, Hazel says “… I rarely left the house, spent quite a lot of time in my bed, read the same book over and over, and ate infrequently…”
Hazel grace is a dynamic character because she changes throughout the story. In the beginning, Hazel doesn’t want to get close to Augustus, because she was afraid he is going to be shattered when she dies. But towards the ending, hazel finds out it doesn’t matter if you die in the middle of a relationship, it’s about the moments you spend together. A quote in the book, on page 214, “Only now that I loved a grenade did I understand the foolishness of trying to save others from my own impending fragmentation: I couldn’t unlove Augustus Waters. And I didn’t want to.”
Hazel grace is incredibly sarcastic throughout the book. A quote from the book is, on page 24; Hazel says “I didn’t tell him that the diagnosis came three
The first trait of Hazel shown in the early stages of the plot is his cluelessness. In the very opening scene, Fiver alerts Hazel in a panic that a great danger is to come over the Sandleford Warren. Without any evidence or proof, except for the minor fact that Fiver’s past predictions have been found truthful, Hazel goes to The Threarah with Fiver to inform him of this impending threat. “ ‘Well, sir,’ said Hazel rather hesitantly, ‘it’s because of my brother-Fiver here. He can often tell when there’s
No matter how old you are, you might know what It feels like to lose a loved one. Firstly, within the novel, it is clear that Hazel is a caring person and is fully aware of what her body’s condition does to her
Augustus realizes that a lot of people let their cancer identify them, which it seems at first like Hazel does. Through the novel Augustus mentions multiple times how he wants his life to mean something other than cancer. “I fear that I won’t be able to give anything in exchange for my life. If you don’t live a life in service of a greater good, you’ve gotta

Hazel and Augustus were talking about their favorite novels and then Hazel introduced Gus to "An Imperial Afflcition" and Gus introduced Hazel to "The Prince of Dawn."
Cancer is a touchy subject and useily if you read a novel about cancer it is very sad and depressing Hazel makes a way to brighten the book up by some humor. In the book on page 86 it say “I imagined the tumor metastasizing into my own bones, boring holes into my skelton, suthering eel of insidious intent.” When Hazel says that quote she explains it in what she imagines what's happening in her body. When she explains what is happening in her body usually people would be scared. Hazel is dying slowly dying from cancer not a lot of people would react like she does in a funny sarcastic way .
Though sad this ending had meaning, because Hazel was the one trying to separate herself so she would not hurt anyone. But at the end she ended up being hurt when Augustus died, though his death was so predictable
Hazel had terminal cancer, she was quiet, stayed to herself, read and watched TV a lot and didn’t want to be around people until she met Gus. Gus was a good athlete who

Hazel has a strong identity in the story, she has much self-confidence and is not afraid of letting everyone know that she is the best, “Now some people like to act like things come easy to them, won’t let on that they practice. Not me. I’ll high-prance down 34th street like a rodeo pony to keep my knees strong even if it does get my mother uptight.” p. 1 ll. 29-31. Thus her strong and proud personality, she still loves and protects Raymond and is not afraid of showing this either. At the end of the story Hazel’s view on other people changes, when she sees Raymond running parallel with her at the May Day race in his own unique style. She realizes that everyone is not just who she sees them to be, that there are more to people than you can
Interestingly, Augustus got in contact with a charity that gives cancer kids a wish. Augustus decided to use his for the two of them to go on a trip to Amsterdam to meet Peter and Lidewij. In the midst of this, Hazel painfully experiences her lungs filling up with fluid causing her to be rushed to the hospital. She lives, however her personal doctors say she isn’t healthy enough to go to Amsterdam. During one of her cancer meetings, one of her doctors, Dr. Maria, says that Hazel should live her life, convincing
Technically, Hazel is a miracle cancer patient because none of the treatments that she gets works on any other patients. So, she could be going around bragging about it but she doesn’t. She humbly minds her own business and encourages other cancer patients to keep staying strong by going to a support group. “You realize that trying to keep your distance from me will not lessen my affection for you.
In The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Hazel Grace Lancaster is diagnosed with terminal cancer at the very early age of only 13 years old. Hazel identifies herself as the
Despite the adversity they face, the characters in The Fault in Our Stars identity lies within their inner selves, and is not defined by societal expectations. Hazel expresses her frustration with the lesser standard that is expected of cancer patients, saying “According to Maslow, I was…unable to feel secure in my health and therefore unable to reach for love and respect and art…which is utter horseshit: The urge to make art or contemplate philosophy does not go away when you are sick” (Green 213). According to society, cancer patients, and those who are not “secure in their health” are restricted from experiencing life at its fullest. The outside world sees Hazel in singular terms, as “a cancer kid”, unable to reach for greatness;
