Good morning SGT, Several officers have been coming to me with questions regarding the shift change that starts Oct 1st. I'd like to be able to supply them with answers to their questions as I have talked to Cpl Mills regarding them however, it seems, he as many concerns and unanswered questions as the other officers do. These questions have been frequently brought up:
There seems to be confusion with the Corporal positions being filled. What do the officers who have applied for these shifts need to be doing when the Changeover happens, if a decision has not been made by the first?
If an officer did not get a bid in the first go around but may have a position once the corporal positions are filled and/or officers transfer to hospital
Attached is the 3rd shift schedule for the next two weeks. I have assign new zones and dispatch days. I expect officers to read this schedule prior to the shift. Officers need to be full uniform ready to work, and relieve the 2nd shift dispatcher at 2300. If you are assign to dispatch there is no reason to be outside with other officers on patrol. The officer's assignment is 3rd shift dispatcher for the night that means The officers should be getting their information (past downs) from the 2nd shift dispatcher.
Shift changeovers, transfer, overlapping and receipt shall be documented and signed, with reference to names of security personnel starting shift, changing over and providing shift’s information, as well as receiving relevant equipment.
In result of recent events, Scott Brink and Brendaly Sepulveda have been removed from AVP1. Scott Brink was removed for insubordination on 7/20 and Brendaly Sepulveda was removed for frequent absences effective 7/22. Which left the guard force at AVP1 with 5 open spot. I partnered with G4S recruiting and was able to conducted 6 interviews in 2 weeks. Which then resulted in AVP1 gaining 5 possible candidates, one of the recruits started training today (7/22). In effort to help with transition and training of officers, David Selan spoke with Joe Prula and he mentioned that AVP6 will only need 1 Officer after this Friday. Cameron is going to reach out to the AVP6 site leader, and ill re-assign shifts as needed. G4S is going to pay for
Can you please adjust Daniel McMahon shift for Saturday and Sunday, November 07 and 08, 2015 from 1000-1830 to 0400-1230 due to AM operational needs. With Ewa Celatka out of the program I will need an additional officer in order to cover both checkpoints on Saturday and Sunday due to BDO Fabian on an approved leave.
2. The previous NCOER NCOIC departed unexpectedly two months ago due to a compassionate reassignement, and he was out the majority of the previous sixty days prior to his departure due to medical and personal issues. As such, the corrections the battalion CSM required on the NCOERs were not done and the NCOERs were not processed in a timely fashion.
I would like to request a Patrol Watch transfer. My current patrol is 2-2 and I would like to transfer to 2-1, simply because I find it more interesting with Sergeant Reich. Second reason why I would like to request transfer is because my current patrol sergeant, Samuel Tsai seems to be slightly in-active and I haven seen him patrolling twice in two months. I would love to get a chance to go to 2-1 as one of my closest friends is also there.
Force management, or what is really otherwise known as planned comprehensive change, is in reality a complex and interwoven process. Though it was designed within the confines of a systemic approach referred to as the DOTMLPF (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership & Education, Personnel and Facilities), in reality it is meant to enable both dutiful and well-thought out change as well as faster, more urgent adjustments in accordance with the evolving nature of war and information gathering tactics. The Army, as one branch involved in this initiative, focuses most of its attention in this regard on the organizational sector because of the way it facilitates an adequate and democratic step-by-step system of review (Student Reader, F102:2). But the fact is that even this initiative remains multi-faceted and appears to be rather bureaucratic in nature (it has five phases, which seems antithetical to an urgent change process), which might not be surprising since implementing the type of changes that are demanded can have major implications of all sorts. Still, it does appear that this concentration is being well received and that it will eventually serve its goal even if it does not appear that way when detailed on a point by point basis.
Unfortunately, I have asked Officer Turner if she wanted to volunteer and she stated no. I believe this change is necessary (as stated above) and equitable in assignments.
I hope everyone is having a good day so far, with the recent radio malfunctions/pieces missing and breaking I have assigned all officers radio numbers. I’ve attached a list of officer’s and their radio number it’s the number in parenthesis the way this process should work is that the officer should be able to come in during pre-shift and have a list of the previous shift schedule on the table so officers should know where to pick their radio from, I’m asking everyone to put the officers radio number in parenthesis on the schedule for at least the first two weeks until officers get the hang of things and how it works. On concert nights we have designated radios that have C1-C6 for officers to use those radios will be stored
Of the various methods described as options for evoking change talk, which ones feel easiest or most natural for you and why?
Several troopers were selected to work implementing a rotation that would work for everyone. Within a few weeks and after several conversations with troopers, answering questions they had about the rotations, a template was presented for my review.
Thank you again for attending our I-75 Express Lanes Corridor Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting last week. As requested, I have attached the I-75 Express Lanes Emergency Entry and Exit Points diagram for your reference. Please note, I am in the process of obtaining renderings of the emergency entry and exit points. Once obtained, I will email you a copy.
At my level or the level of an operator, the decisions are based on your experience, skills, training and the ability to apply sound reasoning when analyzing the information provided. We don’t sit around and excuse the phrase, as desk jockeys and come together for a brain storming session. Applicable information is addressed at guard mount, we are armed at all times (M4 rifles and M9 pistols), and prior to moving to assigned positions we have a general meeting where threat information is passed out. Details on non-military matters may be addressed, but that is basically all that may be forthcoming from the Shift Supervisor.
Article 86 of the Uniform Code Of Military Justice. This Article covers Point and Place of Duty. That means from PT formation to COB that is where you will be. What a lot of Soldiers do not understand that includes appointments made by them or someone else.
