The best example of change in the Bible is when someone is brought into the family of God at salvation. The reason this is the case is that at salvation a person has a complete spiritual transformation. When we are born into this world, we are born into sin (Ps. 51:5) and were by nature people of wrath (Eph. 2:3), and because of this were separated from God. Before salvation, we would follow our own desires and were dead in our sins (Eph. 2:1-3). Ephesians states that we were once far away, but because of what Jesus did on the cross for our sins, we have been brought near (Eph. 2:13). Peter also states that we were not a people, but are now God’s people and that at salvation a person is brought out of darkness and into His light (1 Pet. 2:9-10).

In Chapter 2 of Encountering the New Testament the author talks about a few of the different practices that unified the Jews as well the different religious groups that had different beliefs. Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Old Testament. The Bible tells us that He died for our sins. Now that our sins have been forgiven it is possible for us, through the belief that He is the Messiah spoken of in the Old Testament as well as seeking forgiveness for our sins, to reach Heaven upon death. But how was sin introduced into our world? Adam and Eve had one job. God told them not to eat the fruit of one specific tree in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve could quite literally do anything else that they wanted. Here’s where it gets complicated. Despite his omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence he took one thing out of his control. He gave us free will. Don’t ask me to explain the contradictions because I can’t. But because God gave us the free will to make our own decisions, Adam and Eve were able to make the decision to eat the apple upon being tempted by the serpent, Satan. Satan appeared and began to tempt Eve into eating the fruit of Eden.
As our sixth president of The United States, John Quincy Adams once said, “So great is my veneration for the bible, that the earlier my children begin to read it the more confident will be my hopes that they will prove useful citizens to their country and respectable members of society.” A significant amount of people around the globe read portions of this book every day. Year after year a world's best seller, millions of copies printed and sold. The most discussed history book, the book of morality, the word of god, The Bible has transformed the world, for it has created guidelines for one to live by, influenced the government and laws , and has liberated many from oppression by its clear teachings.
The amount of force from a police officer is justified depending on the situation. In addition, they can use deadly physical force under certain circumstances. If the officer reasonably believes force is necessary to defend himself from the threat of death or severe injury to a third party or an officer, they are allowed to use deadly physical force. Furthermore, it can be used if the officer reasonably believes the suspect committed a felony, tried to escape from custody, and is an immediate danger to society. Though, the police can be
Starting over,It could be as simple as erasing your work on a sheet of paper or as hard as saying goodbye to things that you love. Why is it so important to start over?Maybe you want a good grade on your schoolwork so you have to restart. Maybe you want to forget about the bad stuff and start over with the good stuff. As the new year came resolutions were made and someone, somewhere most likely made the resolution to restart and maybe even restart as a child of God.I for my resolution was to grow closer in my relationship with the Lord.
There are many central themes that are in the Old Testament, and many may say that there is only one theme of the Old Testament, which is Jesus, and even though that is true in a lot of ways due to the fact that a lot of the minor prophets actually talk about the coming of Jesus, His death and His resurrection. However, I have discovered five main themes of the Old Testament that I found quite interesting. And in this paper I will discuss two of them. I believe one of the most important themes of the Old Testament is Covenant.
Created by Johannes Gutenberg, The Gutenberg Bible was the first mass produced book through the use of a moveable printer. Known for its artistic Latin writing, the Bible only has forty-nine copies remaining, one residing at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The Gutenberg Bible exhibits religious qualities from the message, directly from God, and the original purpose of the creation of the Bible.
There were at least 3 views of how the Old Testament was composed which include the critical view, the compositional view, and the common view. Each view was somewhat similar and different in the aspects that gave it it's own characteristics. The main point of this discussion is to focus on the similarities and differences of each view which are but not limited to how the bible was created, the process, and design.
