Cell phones are amazing things that allow us to so many great things, but are causing us to loose sight to what really matters? Cell phones should not be allowed to be out during school hours but should not be completely banned from the school campus. They are used as status symbols, a way to measure self worth and make us lose touch with reality.

What, you think using cellphones at school is a good idea. Now days cell phones have so many used apps and while student's are at school they are attempting to look on their phones. Everywhere you go in this present time all you see is toddlers on up to adults with phones because they are so addicted to technology. People would rater buy new phones that the company comes out with instead of buying things that they need because they think they can survive with a cell phone. Cell phones are very helpful but so many people have took advantage of that and have become so addicted to them. Now days in this particular time everything is at everyone's fingertips and they get what they want when they want it. When they ask someone for something they want or need that they can't get on a cell phone, they expect to get it right at that second that they ask for it. Using cell phones at school is a bad idea. School's should not allow student's to use their cell phones at school.

I understand that there may be the risk of cheating on quizzes or tests with using mobile phones, but if teachers monitor where the testing students go on the phones, cheaters can be caught and there will be

The students would not have to make time to go to the computer lab to use a computer, they could instantly research at their desk (Funding , 2014). For students to use a cell phone in the classroom, they would have to be greatly monitored to keep them focused on research, not playing games, texting, or browsing social media. If the students are not monitored when using a cell phone in class, their learning process is hindered greatly. Statistics show that seventy-three percent of teachers admitted that they or their students use cell phones in the classroom (Bautista, 2013). Cell phones can be a distraction for teachers as well as students, if teachers are too wrapped up in their social networking profiles and not concerned with the students sitting before them, they are failing to do their job

Joe Thomas thought he was sneaky and could listen to the lesson in class and play on his phone. When homework time came for him, he couldn’t remember anything about the lesson all he could think about was the game. As you know, parents are buying their kids brand new phones. Their education is suffering from the new technology. Every aspect of school is becoming more and more of a challenge because the phones are stealing their attention. Although kids are dependant on them, schools should have a stricter ban on them. Media is making more and more kids distracted, test scores will be higher without the use of cell phones , and they will be able to communicate and socialize with peers much better.

Cell phones are a big deal in the world that we live in today, as some say, cell phones make the world go round. Cell phones can be used just about anywhere; except one place, a high school campus. I can’t speak for any other states around the world, but in Louisiana, cellular use on a high school campus is a big no. I think high school students should be able to use cell phones on campus. There is plenty of reasons for my reasons for my beliefs and I’m writing this essay to tell you why.

Thesis: Cell phones should be used in high schools to replace educational tools, to keep in contact with parents, and to get students career and college ready.

Most students are asking the same question, why can't we have our phones in school without the fear of getting in trouble or it gets it taken up. The truth is the cell phone is a very useful learning tool and can be used for emergency. There are a lot of productive uses for cell phones other than texting and social media and cyberbullying. To add another reason it would give the students a sense of freedom because as a student myself, I feel like students are not given much freedom in schools.

Some people think that phones should stay in school but doing this is basically allowing students to do non school related things on them. “Critics believe, however, that allowing these devices will only encourage their non-educational use in school, to the point, where they will be a significant distraction for teachers and students and a potential tool for cheating”, says Kinjo Kiema. Nowadays people are starting to come up with new ways to cheat on school related things and most of it is done on cell

These are the reasons why I think that students should not be allowed to have cell phones in school. Losing a phone is a major problem for young phone users. Texting is very addictive and may interfere with school work. Another reason is that students may attempt to play a video game instead of paying attention in class. Cheating is also a very worrisome possibility in middle school. In the next paragraph, I will go into detail about the reasons I have just stated.

The issue of smartphone related electronics in schools first became a problem in 1990 when schools began to ban all pagers, beepers, and cell phones that were usually associated with drug dealing or gangs (Nielsen). Moreover, this argument has continued on for years with more problems appearing such as texting, cheating, social media, and cyberbullying. Parents insist that smartphones are a safety mechanism that allow communication for the students and the parent; while schools assert the notion that cell phones corrupt academic life for students. Nevertheless, events such the Columbine High School shootings and the September 11, 2001 attacks has caused schools to lift their bans when they displayed how cell phones were an easy link between students and parents who were trying to get in contact with one another (St. Gerard 2006).

Oh my gosh! I think I am about to die! I just found out that some schools do not allow students to have cell phones in school. Modern cell phones are capable of much more than sending text messages in class, now they are capable of calling someone in case of an emergency. If someone is in need of help and no one has a cell phone, there is no way anyone could get them help, if someone is bleeding a lot more than likely they would die if no one calls the emergency center. There is an average of ninety-four percent of students who goof around and play on their cell phones during class or school hours, that is only six percent of students who could manage to not play on their cell phones until the end of the day. If someone would like to see if they could manage to get through the day without using a cell phone, they could try the "no cell phone for a day" challenge. The "no cell phone for a day" challenge is when someone gives their cell phone to their parents and they could not have their cell phone back until twenty-four hours are up, if they could get a day without their cell phone, then they should be proud of them because they have proved they could get through the day without their phones, If you do not pass it then you are addicted to the phone and you need to get help. Teachers and principals should let students have phones at school.

When on the street one can observe today's youth with their faces stuffed in their phones, not paying attention to their surroundings at all. Science has actually proven that this very unhealthy and will lead to many different medical problems and costly procedures later in life. Not only the danger to your health, it is also very impolite and no way to act, and could actually provide an immediate danger because of the lack of vigilance to one's surroundings. the school system should not promote such behaviors and should teach children the correct and polite way to act in the real world. For in public schools we are preparing the children for the real world, and we need to instill valuable life lessons and morals.

Virtually all students have cell phones and it's typical to see them texting away or listening to music through earbud at every opportunity the teacher gives them. When the teacher is busy helping out another student or writing on the board. Eventually, the teacher notices and warns that phones will be confiscated. The phones disappear until the teacher isn’t paying attention anymore. And in today’s world, when homes are filled with computers and mobile devices, schools are questioning how much technology belongs in the classroom.
