The Kuder Occupational Interest Survey uses a system that ask you to rate your preference to do something. You are rating items most preferred and least preferred. It matches your answers to the different occupational group that your answers match. The Kuder Occupational Interest Survey used predictive validity. Using predictive validity, they proved that over 43 percent of the sample were in occupations corresponding to their five highest ranked scales. The reported reliability ranged between .40 and .80. The 3 careers are a Pediatrician, Software Engineer, and IT Project Manager. I will be evaluating the 3 careers with an evaluation matrix and 5 criteria. An evaluation matrix is used to determine various alternatives compared to emphasized criteria.
In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). These three letters represented my strengths and interests in determining which career field would best suit me.

All of which exist to aid the individual to explore further into what he/she would like to do for work or leisure activities.

The main finding of Interest Profiler Results, Work Values Sorter Assessment and Work Preferences Appraiser are a good match for a career in E-commerce Manager or Humanity Resources assistant. After this valuation, I am assured that, also I can decide in the future what the best professional way is.
The Occupational Information Network (O*NET) is an occupational information system released by the U.S. Department of Labor which is an existing database that allows analysis of occupations to be completed (Hurt, & Homan, 2013; Peterson, & Jeanneret, 2007). The data collected on the O*NET includes ratings on job tasks, skills, knowledge and education needed, generalized work activities (GWA),work styles, and context areas (Donsbach, Tsacoumis, Sager , & Updegraff, 2003).
In determining employability, one must determine and consider a person’s current occupational profile, which includes their functional abilities, education, aptitudes, work experience and transferable skills.
Career assessments can be defined as the process of accessing your skills, personality traits, interest, and values. Partaking in a career assessment helps you discover careers that fit you best. These assessments allow you to see how high you score in various careers based on your answers to questions pertaining to your interests, skills, personality traits, and values. Critiques of this test were highly favorable not only as an assessment tool but also an effective intervention tool. The main issues were the cost and time it takes to give the test. The normal allowance time for a test is two to three hours where this test runs closer to six to eight hours. Ultimately what will the data be needed for is the question. If it sis solely for placement, a static and less time and cost consuming test would suffice, while this test would offer deeper and more specialized qualitative results to help ensure better interventions for education in the students future. ONET is an online occupational database tool developed for the U.S. department of Labor by the National Center for O*Net Development. The database is filled with occupational information on the skills, abilities, knowledges, work activities, and interests related to different occupations. The site provides educational requirements, local and national salary information, and a link to job openings for each occupational category. The database is free for public use and regularly updated by surveying a wide range of workers from each occupation. The site is a valuable tool for student career exploration and workers wanting to make a career change. In addition, it assists managers and human resource professionals with writing job descriptions

When I was first given the results for both Kuder assessments, I was not shocked the least bit. For my Interests Assessment, the top 3 scores were Enterprising, Conventional, and Investigative. These results accurately portray myself because I want to work in a career that requires critical thinking and teamwork all in a methodical way. This relates to my first major choice, electrical engineering, very well. The Values assessment seemed even more accurate where is put Innovation, Income, and Workplace and my top priorities. While I do want a career of high income, I also want to feel like I am making a difference in the world with my work, all while in a friendly workspace. This especially shows in my kuder results.
The responses to this test would be both objective and subjective. This instrument can be administered in schools as well as online, however, it has to be coupled with career counselling.
