Career Assessment Paper In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). These three letters represented my strengths and interests in determining which career field would best suit me. The letter “I” represents the personality of investigating. This includes people who like to observe, learn, investigate, analyze or solve problems. Some of the careers that are associated with this include: Chemist, doctor, investigator, and engineer. The entering of data is an important part of the computer operator’s daily routine. Computer operators may also have to take calls from customers complaining of computer system issues. The computer operator will diagnose the problem and then walk the individual through how to fix the situation. Should further help be needed, the computer operator will contact the necessary parties or advise the customer how to do so on their own. There are a few traits which will come in handy in relation to the role of a computer operator. One trait which all computer operators should possess to aid them in their line of work is well-rounded computer knowledge. Computer operators have a wide array of duties which they must take part in on a daily basis. Computer operators should also be good communicators. This is due to the fact that computer operators will often have to deal with other individuals such as clients, coworkers and supervisory staff members. A computer operator must also be an inventive thinker. The computer operator will have to solve problems every now and again. With that being the case, one who fills this job role must be able to exhibit good problem solving skills in an inventive manner which will resolve any issues that may arise. Also, a computer
The population selected in this context is that of high school students. High school students are young, with some individuals considering them as leaders of the future. This is because students normally decide on their career paths when they complete their high school level. The purpose for this analysis is for the determination of their pattern of interest, as well as what they are inclined to do because of their personality type. To facilitate execution of this particular activity, I will ensure usage of Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs.
Today, computers are found everywhere and people rely upon them for travel directions, entertainment, purchasing products, and social interactions.
Introduction: The following report sheds light on one specific career option that a group of three scholars chose and shows how their personality traits as well as their interests and employment backgrounds make them either the most qualified or the least qualified for the job position. The job that the group chose was intelligence analyst. The report will explain whether or not there should be competitiveness between the group members when it comes to applying for a similar job in the near future. When one is applying for a career there are many things employers take into consideration. Among the highest are the applicants ' willingness to work in the career field and in the set location. The applicant experience and the applicants ' personality traits that make them stand out from the other applicants are also extremely important.
Nursing will be my major. The reason why nursing will be my major is because I
I have been working on my academic career for many years now. I am currently in my third year of community college, and have come across multiple teachers who have helped and inspired me in many ways. A teacher not only teaches the content of their course, but life skills as well. They are kind, caring, considerate, and understanding of their students. A teacher who goes above and beyond for their students is one that will make a difference. One teacher who I believe has made all the difference to me, was my accounting professor.
It is appropriate for those over the age of fourteen, and focuses on the client’s interests with a vast amount of occupations, and includes recreational activities as well (Drummond, Sheperis, & Jones, 2015).The Strong Interest Inventory provides the client with their three highest general occupational themes, out of a possible of six, lists the top five highest and lowest areas of career interest (Drummond, Sheperis, & Jones, 2015).Furthermore, it provides the client with top vocations along with their personal “styles” such as leadership or type of work environment (Drummond, Sheperis, & Jones, 2015). I like this career assessment, because it is a good starting point with a client. Once I have the highest vocational choices, it would be easier to be able to provide direction to a client and to provide them with more information on some of the occupations they have the most interest
In recent years, there has been growing pressure for school districts to ensure that students graduate college and career ready. Moreover, educational laws now require schools to offer career guidance to their students. As a result, school leaders are utilizing a series of assessment tools to identify students’ interest and prepare them for a global society. According to Timmons, Podmostko, Bremer, Lavin, and Wills (2004), career interest inventories are designed to assist students in recognizing their predominant interests and preferences. In addition, they allow students to identify areas of strength as well as areas that may need improvement. Hulleman and Harackiewicz (2009) maintain that career assessments help low-performing students achieve
My career objective is to instill self-advocacy skills for youth in order for them recognize that although there are many difficulties in life, there are just as many solutions if you are willing to work for it. I want to continue working within a school as part of a team to encourage and support the development of all adolescents. My long standing life objective(s) is to slow down, help others, and let go of my need for perfection! I am a quick learner and I like to do things “right” so that the result is “perfect”. I am learning that my strengths and weakness are interchangeable. While it is good to be a quick learner, it may not be if I get frustrated with others who do not learn as fast as me. Every day I ask the God of my understanding
During the beginning of the second semester, Mrs. Bridges had assigned each of her classes a proposition which would include working with the environment along with giving the opportunity to learn a new skill. Requirements for the assignment included: thirty hours of work, a minimum of six photos, along with an essay describing what all occurred during the past three months.
The occupation that I have selected via the O*Net Interest Profiler is nuclear engineering. I obtained this career by plugging in the top three letters I scored highest on in the personality mosaic, which were Investigative, Conventional and Realistic, in that order. I agreed with the results of the personality mosaic, I presumed that the three terms and their descriptions were predominantly truthful to how I perceived myself. Secondarily, I reasoned that a decent amount of the careers recommended to me through the O*Net Interest Profiler were occupations that I had an interest in, therefore I believe the online profiler did a quality job of helping me determine a career.
Choosing to apply to law school is more than choosing what I will do and where I will spend my next three years. It is more about what life path I want to pursue. I want to be a smart problem solver. My short-term career goal is to practice business law in big law firms based in either the U.S. or China. As for my long-term career goal, I would like to devote the resources that I gain from my education and experience to public sectors in China. Berkeley School is the perfect place for me considering both my short-term and long-term career goals.
Although, my motivation to pursue a career in the medical field arises from intrinsic motivations; My personality has a part in my career choice because it was gained through the nurturing of family and extrinsically of course. The summary of my Myers-Briggs Type Indicator concluded my type as ISFJ. The “I” stands for introversion, and it means one focuses on inner world of ideas and impressions. Being an introvert applies to me and my life because I prefer to work alone, dislike social outings, and I am self-motivated. For example, I had to do a group project in my english class, and I disliked it. I wanted to work alone, but most of the work I wanted to commit too to make sure it got done. I researched the topic and got all the information
Nick Carter once said, “It 's like Forrest Gump said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates. ' Your career is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you 're going to get. But everything you get is going to teach you something along the way and make you the person you are today. That 's the exciting part - it 's an adventure in itself”. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average worker currently holds ten different jobs before age forty, and this number is projected to grow. Forrester Research predicts that today 's youngest workers will hold twelve to fifteen jobs in their lifetime. In class we received an assignment about career planning. I constantly dream about living in a huge house with two cars, and working in San Diego as a Family Counselor. In this assignment we assess our career aspirations, and possibly alternative career paths.
