One of the biggest events that take place in this town every year is when the Chino Hills High Husky football team takes on their cross- town rival, the Ayala Bulldogs aka the Battle of the Bone. The first time we played Ayala was in 2004. It was the seventh game of the season and the Huskies were just coming off their first loss to Glendora. The Huskies were losing at the half. The third quarter the Huskies got the lead with two early touchdowns, and never gave it up; The Huskies won 21-16. The following year the Huskies went down 7-0 after the first quarter, but then turned it around and scored two touchdowns in the second, and then added on another in the third and the Huskies won 20-7. The Next year was the same story as the Husky offense
On Sunday May 15, 2016, The Stanford Cardinals suffered a major loss to the Washington Huskies. The Cardinals finish 13-35, but 0-24 in the PAC 12. The seniors had four runs all together but it wasn't enough. The defense was lacking having sophomore Hayley Snyder being pulled from the game. She was pulled because by the second inning, there have been five runs. Snyder was replaced with freshman Caroline Lee. Offensive wise, they were lacking but had no trouble getting on to the bases. The trouble was, no one seemed to get on homebase. The Cardinals catchers, Jessica Palaz led the team, and it was her game with Stanford. Her career record was the highest with 4 RBI’s in her senior year. The Cardinals were up by four in the bottom on the fourth,
The Jonathan Alder football team finished their regular season on Friday, October 28 with a victory against their conference rivals from Fairbanks. Despite that the final margin of victory sat at just 14 points, the Pioneers manhandled the Panthers for much of the game. Alder headed to the locker room for halftime winning the game 35 to 7. Their offense was headed by touchdown receptions from junior quarterback Preston Eisnaugle to senior fullback Hunter Maynard and junior receiver Dalton Potts. Rushing touchdowns from junior running back Jamie Dye and senior fullback Austin Fooce, who ended the first half by bulldozing the Panther’s defense for his second score of the game, also added to Alder’s offensive production. Dye would finish the game
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will, and a lack to change”-Vince Lombardi. Central Dewitt’s football program usually has a tradition of great success and excellent morals. Unfortunately, in the 2014 and 2015 football season they have a combined record of 5-13, which does not live up to the standards of the DeWitt community. There are many problems circulating the football program, but most involve the lack of experience in coaching. Central Dewitt ‘s losing football record for the past two seasons can be solved by coaches properly developing their athletes, incorporating new offensive and defensive strategies, and increasing player participation.
In mid-1999, a student by the name of B.J. Durham transferred schools as a result of his mother’s divorce and financial struggles. B.J. was a cross-country/track star at his previous school, Park Tudor Private High School, and was rumored to be moving for athletically-motivated reasons. Because of the hearsay, B.J. was not granted full-eligibility by the IHSAA but partial. B.J., the plaintiff in this case, was also denied access to the Hardship Exception which would’ve granted him athletic eligibility in full. B.J. and his family took their case to court. The court issued a permanent injunction against the IHSAA’s decision, to which the IHSAA later appealed. The court stood on their decision,
Is the premium placed on winning, driving coaches to cross the line? Sadly, hundreds of athletes are physically and verbally abused by their coach. In the case of the “player versus Midwest University, the cause of action against the head coach, athletic director and the university can be severely damage the coach’s career and the university. The player has several options and should seek legal counsel.
Fly. Hit. Never Quit. It is a new school year yet again, at Seminole High School. Which means it is another year filled with excitement. Drama shows, dances, sport events are just a few example. The most important event though, is the homecoming game.
Whether or not the Washington football team should change their name has been debated for quite some time. The name of the team is a racial slur and can refer to the scalping of Native Americans for a bounty. The Washington Football team should not change their name because it should be something the Natives should decide and it takes attention away from other important issues concerning Native Americans. Opinions on the term are split amongst the Native Americans. There a some who like the name, others who do not, and those who do not care. However, it is still their term and they should get the rights to decide what to do with it. Non-Natives should not be making the decision for them and deciding who gets to use it and who doesn’t while

The University of Nevada Reno’s Football program officially started fifty years ago in the October of 1966. At the same time the team was established, Mackay stadium was built which seated only 7,500 people at the time. After numerous amounts of renovations, the stadium now seats 26,000 people and the football games are very loud and exciting. Being a football player and student myself, I get to hear what other people outside the football program perceive of us as around campus when we win, lose, or just in general about the football program. Most comments and accusations I have heard have been false and negatively based. What most people do not see is the hardwork and dedication it takes to be apart of the football program and the impact it has on the coaching staff, the community, and also, the inseparable bond it creates between the players.
The following Case Study is about the National Collegiate Athletic Association unethical act in the sport college league. How this league creates big amounts of money which is invest in all short of projects rather than take care of the student-athletes. The study case highlight the two main principles issue that the National Collegiate Athletic Association faces; the money how the student are not getting paid and the academic versus sport.
During the early 20th century college football played a bad role and influence on American culture by diminishing a good college education. I oppose the role that college football had on American culture because it took away from the main purpose of going to college, which was getting a good education for most Americans. Since the US was involved in World War 1, many veterans came back to the US with no jobs. College coaches were exploiting veterans by concentrating on making their team better rather than wanting them to focus on an education, so that they could get a good job in the future.
Killing a friend over not becoming apart of his plan in becoming a king became a big part of this play. Macbeth goes crazy after with visions but continues on with his plan. When Banquo was talking to Macbeth about everything he said,“I think you have come about your title most foully”(3.1.122). Banquo was a threat from the start, since he was told the prophecies by the witches. Therefore, he had to be killed from the start along with his son. Unfortunately for Macbeth, his murders didn’t carry out the full task, of killing Banquo and his son, Fleance. The murders slit Banquo's throat, but fleance escaped before they could kill him. Afterwards the murder came to Macbeth when he has guests in his house. Macbeth had a dinner with many friends including Banquo who was invited but never showed up because of his murder.
The day the team got together and fought threw a tough battle facing pinnacle high school. It was our second home game and our record was 1-2. After all of the hard work we had put in over summer, we realized we could not lose, especially in front of our home crowd. At the beginning of the game we did our usual warm-ups, I have never felt so much adrenaline pushing threw my veins in my life. After the warm-ups the whole team got in a big huddle, we chanted a chant that will never be forgotten and one day make history for the pride. After the chant we got ready for kick-off, lined up and ready to go. The crowd started cheering at the first 2 seconds of the game “go pride go, go pride go”. This made the whole team nervous, not just because there was so many
The article provides a general overview of how music can evoke specific memories. Hearing music activates the limbic system, which takes part in controlling the memory and emotions, and automatically, brings up autobiographical and episodic memories. One of the strong emotions that music evokes is nostalgia. In general, this article provides useful background information on that music evokes emotions, but does not necessarily define feelings. Since some sad songs can be associated with happy memories, and happy on opposite --with the
