May 28th, is a day I will remember for the rest of my life. Words cannot describe what had happened to my friends that prom night. Carrie White had some sort of special power, and that night, we pushed her. I realize now that you can only push someone so far till they break. I guess it all started that day after gym. Carrie came out of the shower screaming that she was dying. My friends and I realized that she was only just experiencing her first period and I told her to clean herself up and threw a tampon at her. I never would have thought that she didn't know what her period was. After that, I felt horrible about what happened that day and so I told my boyfriend Tommy Ross to take Carrie to the prom instead of me as an act of kindness. That night when they …show more content…
She had won prom queen! Just as she was being crowned, I noticed that there was a rope that led to a bucket next to Chris Hargensen. I knew that something terrible was going to happen to Carrie. Just as I was about to tell Miss Gardner what was going on, she told me that I had to leave the prom. I felt so helpless and there was nothing I could do. Carrie had gone on a destructive rampage and killed the entire student body and burned down the school. I followed the path of destruction. It lead from the school, through the town, and up to Carrie’s house. I decided to go inside and see if Carrie was alright. What I saw will haunt me forever. Carrie was wounded. I sat down and held her in my lap until her final breath. Weeks later I went to her funeral. It was so sad to see that there was no flowers beside her grave. Instead there was a message on her gravestone that read “Carrie White burns in hell.” I couldn't believe someone could say something so malicious about her. Just as I was about to lay the flowers by her gravestone, Carrie’s bloody hand emerged from the ground a dragged me down to hell with her and her mother. I am now forced to re-live the horror I witnessed that prom

On April 22, 1921, Mrs. William A. Servin and her daughter-in-law, both members of the Nyack Women’s Club, went for a hike along Pearl River; a hamlet located roughly twenty miles from Manhattan and just north of the New Jersey border. After traveling along a grown-over path the two women happened upon four children they later described as, “so wretchedly clad and so encrusted with dirt as to seem scarcely human.” Disturbed by the children’s unkempt appearance and fearful for their overall well-being, Mrs. Servin contacted the county truant officer and local law enforcement to investigate.
