The Scot's energy improved too late as the Dons celebrated their win after the last whistle.
Carlmont Girls varsity volleyball fell to the Aragon Dons as a result of the many mistakes the Scots made throughout the four sets on Sept. 23, 2016.
Aragon Coach Kelsey Stiles said, "We stayed together as a team even though we were missing our starting outside and our middle got a concussion during warm-ups. I think the girls made great adjustments and battled the entire time."

Unlike the previous set, the Scots started the second set strong with a big lead due to an increase of vocal players and trust. Carlmont swiftly won 25-18.
Junior Maya McClellan said, "I think we lacked communication and focus and everyone was thinking about their own mistakes rather than working together as a team."
In the third set, senior Anya Meredith hit a hard ball across the court that fell on the far corner line, but Carlmont was losing 16-18. Senior Makenna Twisselman, libero, struggled to receive hits from the Dons, but continued to put full effort in the game by diving and reaching out for the ball.
"Motivation to beat a good team like Aragon definitely keeps me going. My teammates are also a huge factor in that too. They work hard for me so I work hard for them. My teammates and captains definitely keep attitudes positive and make me want to work harder," said Twisselman.
Aragon benefited from Carlmont's mistakes and continued to work hard, earning a 25-17 win.
The Scots and Dons battled in the final set, with the scores very close or a tie. Most of the points scored from both teams were small tips over the net that caught the opposing team off guard. In the third, freshman Erin Lewis was hit by a pitch and advanced to third after a throwing error allowed junior Cassie Gonzales to reach. After a hit batter loaded the bases, a walk to sophomore Hallie Smith and a squeeze by LeBlanc plated another to put the Ladies up 6-2.
In a heartbreaking loss in game one, Centenary rallied from an 8-2 deficit to take a 9-8 lead in the bottom of the eighth. However, Trinity scored two in the ninth for the thrilling 10-9 win. With Centenary down 8-2 in the fifth, the Maroon and White erupted for five runs to cut the deficit to one. Quintanilla walked and Schimpf singled to put runners on the corners. Being girls of the ages fourteen to eighteen we did not know how to react. We have never in our life went to school and heard all these headlines about how the program we worked so hard to build is not going to make it in our county. Knowing we had no support from anyone besides our coaches and families led us to constantly being down. We were continuously mocked of from higher ranked teams, even if we won a game. All that proceeded in our heads were that how can people think so small of a group of teenage girls. No one wanted to be last in our division anymore, but we didn't have faith in ourselves as a result of no one having confidence in us.

It was a Thursday evening when it all happened. Lady Titan Softball was at Tecumseh high school playing a conference game. Of course, this was my freshman year so varsity wasn’t exactly in my range. Winning the junior varsity game though, was just as important. We all knew this conference game was going to be a tough one, but we were willing to do anything to win.
The morning was exciting, because when I saw my teammates who have been there with me from the beginning for the past three years, I felt pride and confidence of us.
