Earthshine and Camp Timberlake
What if your school visited two different camps, you liked both of them, but you had to make a choice? What would you do? Well, the camps that I experienced were Earthshine and Camp Timber Lake. Every year all of Key Middle School goes on an overnight to one of these camps. Both camps were very enjoyable. At one of them, I did zip lining, and at the other we did rock climbing. Over all I thought Earthshine was much more exciting than Timberlake. Earthshine was absolutely amazing, but there were certain extraordinary activities that I enjoyed, and some things that I did not enjoy. One thing that was radical was the faculty that worked there, they helped me do things that I may have been afraid of, like doing the Zipline course. One highlight of the trip was their grilled cheese and tomato soup, it was so delicious I would eat that every day if I had to. The activities were ridiculously enjoyable, they were easy to get to and they had a really long Zipline course. The only aspect that I did not enjoy about

First, we had to drive an exhausting two hours just to go rock climbing, although it was pretty awesome. The cabins were the same size and I took pleasure in that. The food wasn't delicious at all, but we did have one good meal, chicken and mashed potatoes. The reason that the meals weren’t that pleasant was that the camp just packed them. At Earthshine we got freshly made food. Lastly, there wasn’t any space for the campfire, but at Earthshine the campfire was a blast. Well, both of these exciting camps, Earthshine and Camp Timberlake, were awesome in their own special way. Earthshine had deliciously amazing mouth-watering stomach filling food, and also had a heart racing Zipline course. Camp Timberlake had well sized cabins and two fun activities. Overall, hands up to Earthshine, I enjoyed it there, for where the camp was and for the
The hike into camp from the parking lot is amazing, and the first glimpse of the lake that
Our whole grade went to Bournedale last week and it was awesome and a great learning experience. I think out of all the classes we had adventure was my favorite. My first reason is that the counselor who runned it was Robbie. Robbie is awesome because he has a british accent, he had his dog with him I love dogs, and he was extremely nice. Next adventure was amazing because we got to climb a ten foot wall. I liked to climb the ten foot wall because when I got up there it was was so nice I could see most of camp and realized it was very large, I was the first person and had much room to walk around. My third reason adventure was my favorite is we go to do something called the zipper. The zipper is when everyone from the
So one of the best thing I have ever gotten to do is go to Six Flags. The one I got to go to is in Van Texas. It is a crazy amusement park that has the third fastest roller coaster in the country.I got to go with some people too. Me Anne Mae, Jack, Jonathan, Mason, Alison, Olle, Davis, and my mom. It is a very cool amusement park. My favorite part was the Mr. Freeze ride. Jonathan said, “Mr. Freeze was his favorite too”.
World War One was a war that didn’t seem to end: it was four years of fighting throughout Europe, people dying on the sides of both the Allied and Central powers. For about half of the war, the two opponents reached a stalemate. There was no clear winner during battles and there was no progress on either side. The Allied powers, including Great Britain, needed to find a way to add more power into their armies. Perhaps they needed more people who were passionate about winning the war and defeating the Germans and the other Central powers.
We always get in a battle about which spot to set up at, we all have our favorite. These sites act as a nostalgic memory bank whenever I see them. I can remember all of the great times we've had at almost all the sites. This time my family let me pick, I already knew what spot i wanted. The spot I loved was the one right by the crystal clear Huzzah River. This spot had its own rocky beach and view of the iron-stained, rocky red bluff. My favorite spot is tucked away in the back of the state park, nestled in a nook of trees and grass. A concrete fire block with a smoky cast-iron grill sat at the center of the site along with a picnic table
Every year, The Barn Wesley Foundation provides us with the amazing opportunity to experience a connection with God at Timber Creek Camp. We are blessed to enjoy three days at the camp and share a unique, bonding moment with all of our peers from Perkinston and many students from other colleges who also attend the event. I have been able to attend this event twice, and each time has proven to be a wonderful adventure, helping each and every one of us surpass our difficulties and leave our burdens on Christ.
I want to "thank you" all again for wonderful Camp Magik performances. Dr. Rene stated that they were "marvelous" and I totally agree. I've seen these shows performed on numerous occasions over the years but I never seen the emotional audience reactions in the volumes that I did on Saturday. You all really put your heart and soul into your performances and it was felt by the audience. I sincerely hope the counseling sessions afterwards were therapeutic and helpful for our young audience members and their families. Again, "Thank you" so, so much and for what it is worth, you made me extremely proud.
Camp Foley has been my second home since I was 8. It was a place where I didn’t have to worry about being weird because being weird at camp is normal. I could be myself even though I was scared to at home. Camp was always an escape from reality and a break from everything.
This summer I went to Maryland for the first time and met my family that is over there.
“Making the impossible possible” is the motto of Camp Able. Camp Able offers a summer camp experience for people with special needs, whether they be physical or mental. This week-long session affects the lives of many and I can vouch for that. This experience has given me so many fond memories and has filled me with a more humble spirit. All of the staff that takes part in the one-on-one care and assisted daily living are volunteers who graciously dedicate their time and money to go through online certification, staff training, and the week itself. My experience in volunteering for this event caused me to have some very mixed feelings, but I learned so much along the way.
In general, my Camp experience was awesome! I enjoyed working with my CSN Camp Mentor Leslie Levit. Her approach and spiritual preparedness for the day was evident throughout the week. Leslie and I reviewed the Crystal Lake staff handbook, visited all locations on the Camp where the staff keep the Camp care kits, organized and replenished
In the two essays “How the Media Helped Win World War II” and “In Defense of the Media,” both authors argue that the media is helpful in times of conflict. The influence of the media helped in times of conflict. In both passages, the positive part of the media was emphasized deeply. In the world today, media is just like banking career. They both want to make money.
Before I went to Pathfinder Ranch, my sister told me all about it and how much fun it was. After my sister talked about it I could not wait to go and when i finally got to go it was over so fast. My experience at Pathfinder Ranch was amazing. I made so many good memories there .
The year is 2003, I am eight and for half of a year I have lived with my grandmother and my brothers. The school year has just ended and summer has begun. “I’m tired of you kids, you boys have been driving me up the walls and I need a break!” my grandmother said. “You’re going to summer camp!” I had never been camping but that did not stop a smile only a child could have stretch from ear to ear across my little face. With a mouth lacking in front teeth, I screamed, “Yay!” My grandmother had signed us up for the annual boys and girls club summer camping trip, meaning eight weeks of fun under a warm sun at camp Big Silver in the neighboring state, Michigan. I will never forget my first day of summer camp.
When one thinks of the words “Church Camp,” the term is not always related to “fun.” That is, unless that person has been to Gull Lake Ministries. I will admit, before my first summer there I originally believed that the camp was going to be a boring place where biblical information was the focus all the time. I quickly learned that I was extremely wrong. Not only was my impression of the camp wrong, my outlook on what life at camp would be like was completely wrong as well. By providing me with experiences I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to enjoy, introducing my family and me to new people, and enhancing my relationship with God, the next two hours at Gull Lake was about to teach me more than I could have ever though that it
