After a prolonged amount of reasoning, we’ve come to reach an agreement to convey a road trip from New Jersey to California. We chose these two states because of the amount of distance between the two and because of the long adventures that could come along. Even though we know our destination we could not just get up and drive without formulating any type of preparation beforehand. Personally, the best way to fully succeed a non-stressful trip is to formulate everything you would need to know beforehand. With that being said, Byron and I had to research all the possible information we need on this trip. Join us on the journey as we construct and strive to California.
According to Google Maps, it will be approximately 2,885 miles to reach

In the story Rough Road Ahead by Joe Kurmaskie, a cyclist’s journey through California turns sour after talking with and taking direction from old-timers. He confronts many obstacles along his voyage to Yosemite. In and attempt to take a shortcut to his destination, he encounters worsening terrains that progressively changes his mental state. From the ghost town to his 18-mile ride, his unpleasant experience causes him to distrust other’s advice as the harsh setting deteriorates his lucidity.
he nation's third largest state after Alaska and Texas, California covers more than 150,000 square miles and offers a variety of activities, landscapes, cultures, and wild habitats. The state is also home to large deserts, magnificent mountain tops, Redwood trees, and even canyons. Exploring the entire state of California might not be possible, or practical for that matter. Taking a road trip, however, that explore regions of California allows you to get to know the state intimately while most importantly, traveling at your own pace.
Road trips are known to be fun adventures. When someone says they are going on a road trip people expect them to go and see amazing places and then come back. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck and On the Road by Jack Kerouac are about road trips but these trips are not about the adventure. Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Sal from On the Road and Steinbeck from Travels with Charley all go on road trips because of the American drive. I am also on the road and even thought it is not road trips I am moving around and it is because of the American drive. The American drive is the need to go and to be on the move and it started because people were not happy about their current
Preparing for a big move in a new state can provide an array of emotions. For some, it can signify a new beginning and for others the anxiety of a new environment can be too much. As people create a to-do list of things to take care of, it is important to be prepared and determine what all needs to be completed before the “BIG” day. Most of the time there is a stigma with DMV’s. When someone says the word DMV many will cringe or immediately become frustrated. Going to the DMV can be very time consuming. A lot of drivers, block out times in their schedules to plan for extended times at the DMV. Then there are other drivers that get sidetracked by life, and simply forget to

It is easy to desire a change of scenery when living in the same setting for a long period of time, but great opportunities can arise closer than I previously imagined. Tennessee offers a wide range of opportunities in music, the outdoors, sports, and many more, and the more time I spend throughout the state, I will be able to meet and network with a wide array of individuals who provide a unique perspective on life. My travels throughout my home state will also allow me to catch up with friends from high school who have moved on to various colleges and jobs. While it is a dream of mine to set foot in as many places around the world as I can, it is wise to not rush past hometowns or home states, as they greatly impact the direction of each person’s life. This is also a vacation I can take without spending any money on housing and only spending about $240 for a week of travel (as listed in my itinerary/budget below). Nearly every state in the United States has a wide variety of activities to do and places to explore, and it is crucial to appreciate the opportunities that are in close
I grew up living on the coast of the Pacific Ocean between San Francisco and Half Moon Bay. I was walking distance to Lindamar Beach and a Bart train ride to Union Square in San Francisco. Going to Chinatown with all of my cousins and my uncles was one of my favorite activities growing up. Running down the street, looking for Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory, then later getting a bunch of Fun Snaps, miniature novelty fireworks that make a loud noise when thrown on the pavement. A few years later, my family and I relocated to the East Bay, specifically Antioch. With my Grandma, Aunt, and cousins close by, we would constantly plan family trips to explore. For example, my family would go hiking at Muir Beach or camping at Lake Berryessa in the
Driving to Long Beach with my family, I watched the trees and cars zoom past. Suddenly, as my heart began to pound throughout my whole body, I felt my chest and throat tighten and my muscles stiffen. My brain shut out my surroundings and focused on the panic setting in. Sweat dripped down my palms as I gripped the car handle so tightly my knuckles turned white. Disorientation followed and I was consumed by fear, transported to an empty, helpless space. I had passed the thin line that separated composure and panic. By the time we got to the apartment, I was relieved to have a change of surroundings as I stumbled out of the car. I was shaking when I got out and rushed inside the apartment to calm myself down. This was one of many more panic attacks
As my last class came to an end on that Thursday I could feel the excitement growing in me; spring break was starting! As I walked briskly to my truck I could feel a huge smile growing across my face. In less than twenty four hours I’d be on the road to granny and gripes in Louisiana with my best friend and I couldn’t be more excited! I had never really been out of Missouri unless it was military related and even then we didn’t get to adventure like I had always wanted to do. I’ve always loved driving and seeing new things in Missouri but now I get to drive through different states and see all of the beautiful scenery in Arkansas and Louisiana.
You guys don’t agree or think we can go to California this year. I keep trying to convince you that going to California would be a great, relaxing vacation with many things to do. This would be a great, new, and exciting place to visit.

In the 5 days that it took me to travel to Oregon, I drove into my new found homeland in a land where the young go to retire with a sense of understanding that this small trip across the united states of america has impacted my life dramatically. I highly recommended and you can ask anyone that everyone that lives in the united states needs to have a cross country trip around the united states, and I know people complain that gas is expensive with excuses for everything. We won't focus on that, because those people don't want to do anything! Instead let me tell you that I went through not including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, and finally Oregon,
Holidays are a time of being with the family, eating lots of food, and, if you’re a senior in high school, being questioned about what colleges you are planning on applying to. While visiting my grandmother in Sedona over Thanksgiving break, I endured the classic monologue of rattling off the college application list. My college counselor was the first to suggest Vassar to me; it fulfilled the rigor I sought in my higher education, a small population, and close to home. Once I mentioned it to the family, my grandmother was ecstatic. She spoke highly of the education, the history of the school, and the beauty of the campus. Soon enough, everyone else in the family chimed in their thoughts about how it seemed to be an ideal fit for me.
