Pebbles Lafleur05/15/2018HS115My Scope of PracticeAs many people know, there are steps into making into the medical field world. There are still certifications and levels to have under your belt to move up. Many people start as a CNA, then LPN, RN and so on and so forth. However, currently, I am enrolled in school to become a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) and hopefully adding phlebotomy under my belt as well. Nevertheless, before all this to happen, there is a process to go by and complete it accordingly. To be competitive in the medical field marketplace, all medical assistants have to be certified through the AMA. The AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) is the association that is responsible for producing the
Board certification is offered by several different organizations, including the ACNM Certification Council (ACC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses (NCBPNP/N) and the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC).
After collecting the surveys I distributed, I found very vital data. I surveyed all competent residents and all employed CNAs. The surveys asked questions based on the quality of care provided and the stress levels from this issue. Many of the residents commented that they would like CNAs to stop in and visit. Some of the CNAs said they could complete all the tasks if a third CNA was on duty.

One year after I graduate from my CNA class I see myself attending college at Wilkes Community college I will be going full time to get my associates degree in nursing. While attending Wilkes college full time and raising a baby I will be working as a CNA. For my first job as a CNA I see myself working with the elderly caring for them in their homes, I am more comfortable working with the elderly for my first job than in any other place of work. In home care, would be the best fit for me since I will be attending school full time and raising a baby I feel like they work with you more.
When you take the CNA certification course, it does not even come close to preparing you for what your clinicals will entail. You study and learn to prepare yourself for that moment where it’s up to you to be knowledgeable to do your job. It’s difficult and intimidating to know that you are at the bottom
A day in the life as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) can have its ups and its downs. As a CNA you can work in a couple different areas of the nursing field, you have options of where you want to be and you are not finite to any certain place. Most CNA’s start out working in a nursing home then exude to other places such as hospitals. As a nurse aide you have many options of being in a certain field of nursing. That is what I love about nursing; it is versatile and you can work wherever you want in the country. You can travel and see places you haven’t seen while doing what you love to do as a career.

Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant was the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on. My decision to become a nursing assistant started when I was in ninth grade. My class went on a field trip to the high school and we took a tour to the Health Occupational Students of America classroom. As I walked into the room, I knew right there that it was the class for me. My instructors, Mrs. Livings, and Mrs. Jorgensen were fantastic, and never failed me as a health care
and CNA. In Arizona, most hospital the same as California LVN and CNA functions within their
The Department of Labor states “the highest paying states are California, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Alaska and Nevada” (2014), this is due to a higher cost of living. RN’s normally receive pay by the hour but this is not always the standard. Nurse Practitioners or Advanced Nurses frequently receive a salary and/or “can bill the insurance company for their services” (Greenwood, 2014, para. 1). This can fluctuate with accordance to the employer and state. Nurses can operate in diversified locations such as a nursing home, hospice, hospital, psychiatric, mental health, emergency room, operating room, pediatric, physician office, government offices, public health, forensics, schools, prisons, and outpatient. There are specialties such as working with cardiovascular patients, intensive care unit, critical care, pediatrics, and may work from a distance, such as a home health worker or traveling nurse. Critical nurses or nurses in the intensive care unit (ICU), typically earn a higher pay.

My next step in becomming a registered nursing is a little sidetracked. I want to be come a CMA. A CMA is a certified medical assistant. Once I become a CMA I will have more responsibility but it will be worth it. Becomming a CMA will help me in future classes at UND. I will have the backround of medications as well as a better understanding of patients.

Nursing can provide many opportunities
Nurse Practice Act (NPA) Is specific to nurses such as, Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and Certified nursing assistants (CNA). The nurse Practice Act clarifies the laws and regulates the scope of practice of the nurse’s in the state where they are licensed to work. Each nurse has a different role and only perform the duties in which they are qualified. Each nurse is accountable for protecting the rights of their patient and providing safe patient care. Every state has a NPA that is established by the state legislature that defines the scope of practice for adequate nursing practice. The NPA scope of practice may differ from state to state, therefore each nurse should be familiar with the rules and regulation of the state that they are licensed to work in. Those nurses that travel and those that are relocating should get familiar with the NPA in their state. (What is the nurse practice act? 2009). All nurses are required to abide with the United States employment rules and regulations and, are required the skills of knowledge and independent decision making. The nurses should focus on different diseases, therapeutic, and rehabilitation. (What is the nurse practice act? 2009).
