* (NHA) National Health Career Association offers two medical assistant certification tests for clerical and administrative work.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – “Considered the gold standard of medical assisting certification, the CMA designation translates to a high level of prestige, better job security and greater career opportunities in the field.
The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) awards the CMA credential to medical assistants who graduate from an ABHES- or CAAHEP-accredited program and pass a certification exam. Medical assistants who hold the CMA credential must renew their certification every five years. “
To become an (CMA) you graduate from an accredited program and have to pass a certification exam. After becoming a CMA you must renew your certification ever five years. The role of becoming a CMA is getting your certification you can take EKG’s, take blood, give injections, messing with patient histories you have many roles as becoming a nurse.

My goals are to get certified as Certified Nursing Assistant, then get certified as a Medical Assistant while I pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Afterwards, I will enter graduate school to specialize in cardiology and become a cardiac physician. Stead, Jr., MD was the first person to successfully establish a program designed to train these mid-level providers. The biggest challenge that Physician Assistances face is when a patient questions their competency or their ability to care for them. PA’s are one of the youngest allied health fields and some people are unaware of the role of a physician assistant. Certified nursing assistants are health care professional’s who are there for those who are sick or are unable to care for their self’s. CNAs are also known as orderlies, home health aids, patient care technicians, and many more. The job description that they are entitled to as a nursing assistant varies depending on the health setting that you are in. Many also have to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. With out the help of Certified Nursing Assistants the need for bathing, feeding, and dressing for many elderly patients could not be maintained.
A medical assistant is important to the physicians and nursing staff. Doctors and nursing staff have to be able to concentrate on the medical problems and concerns of their patients. These assistants keep the physicians on schedule, the healthcare facility on course, the workflow smooth and running, the patients informed, and the customers comfortable and safe. Basically, they keep the medical office together. Physicians and surgeons have their own long list of chores and responsibilities to maintain. They just do not have enough time to handle all of the chores that are given to the medical assistants. Without them, things would be really chaotic and frustrating. Physicians as well as nurses would have way too much on their plate to manage.
My next step in becomming a registered nursing is a little sidetracked. I want to be come a CMA. A CMA is a certified medical assistant. Once I become a CMA I will have more responsibility but it will be worth it. Becomming a CMA will help me in future classes at UND. I will have the backround of medications as well as a better understanding of patients.
