Purpose:
The purpose of this memo is to share my thoughts and recommendations with my team member whether the UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton) should pursue third party accreditations as part of its strategy.
Summary:
Based on the discussions, analyses and interviews, the Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton) faces real challenges whether they should pursue third party accreditations in particular the well-known AACSB accreditation in light of the following points:
1) UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Saint John) is already working on achieving the AACSB accreditation,
2) The direct and indirect benefits and costs of AACSB accreditation,
3) The recent changes in the AACSB Accreditation Standards for Business and Accounting,
4) The impact and view of the stakeholders on the accreditation value, and
5) The consideration of the being accredited by AACSB on the short and long-term strategy of the Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton).
The final decision in regard to AACSB accreditation should take into consideration the overall cost/benefit for all stakeholders, the impact on long-term for the Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton), and how this initiative will support the strategic direction and plan. Discussion:
The current situation: On January 3, 2014, UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Saint John) became a member of AACSB. Although joining the AACSB does not confer accreditation and should not be interpreted
The faculty is entrenched in their ways, and change causes ambiguity and uncertainty. Moreover, the faculty in the organization feel uncertain about the new concepts presented by Dr. Ball to the deans altering their salaries and evaluations (Bolman & Deal, 2013, p. 31). The proposed changes create competition and unrest among the faculty and will shatter the business-as-usual campus conduct and job security. The dean's and faculty are grasping at the symbolic frame, defending their beloved academic lifestyle (Bolman & Deal, 2013, p. 248). The secondary problem in this case is support from the deans of the incentive program that will restore Weston University prestigious reputation as set by the board and developed by the president.
A system of checks and balance must be performed to maintain efficiency and productivity that can only be achieved through regulatory and accreditation programs.
15). The commission has chosen, rather, to use a seven-year accreditation cycle consisting of several groups of self and peer evaluations. This process allows the accreditor more flexibility “because institutions of higher education are complex and dynamic systems that exist within changing environments” (Accreditation Handbook, p. 14). The first step in the reaccreditation process is the Comprehensive Evaluation also known as the Year Seven Evaluation, despite the fact that it begins the
Southern New Hampshire University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. They are also accredited through other certifying bodies like the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which certifies undergraduate and graduate business programs. The Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) accredits the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing programs.
We were able to accomplish this distinction despite the fact that the institution had no consistent or formal institutional effectiveness processes in place just 3 years before our compliance report was due for submission. Working diligently and cooperatively with administrators, faculty, and staff, we were able to build a successful assessment and institutional effectiveness program.
Crucial essential appraisal drives the criteria for a comprehensive development master plan for a parent institution as well as proper program quality review every 5 years. Meaning, the employment of theoretical frameworks, concepts, including models assist the accreditation process for success in continued accreditation, results, more importantly, quality measures for a well-established program (Keating, 2015). In fact, administrators, notwithstanding, stakeholders, promote the institution’s mission, vision, purpose, although, fundamental goals cultivate a formidable educational program (Keating, 2015). Nevertheless, a master plan must be efficiently organized to meet academic standards, professionalism, above all, justifiable continuation
Accreditation is a reviewing process to demonstrate the ability of organizations to meet criteria and standards established by a professional accrediting agency.
I discovered that none of my “horror” stories and experiences ever tracked back to AABC. Not only did AABC have a long standing & stellar reputation, but also had many repeat family customers; with former students sending their children (and grandchildren!) to them. AABC did not retain instructors that could not/would not uphold the company’s strict philosophy of instruction, and their curriculum was solid without unnecessary elements.

The authors establish credibility for themselves using ethos. They state that they are the “presidents of leading American colleges and universities” which effectively demonstrates their integrity as leaders of the nation’s most prestigious institutions. The reputation they assert early in the letter identifies them as highly reliable and upright, thus validating that that their opinions are worth regard. Additionally, the letter is signed by numerous presidents and chancellors of respected schools around America. This helped argue the writers point because their argument was supported by the most respected and intelligent individuals in our society.
In “I’d Rather Smoke than Kiss,” the author Florence King expresses her disdain towards this new wave of hatred that has surged against smokers. King views these attacks on smokers as an outlet for Americans to demonstrate who they truly are without being judged. First of all, King labels all of those who hate smokers as “smokists” (Allyn and Bacon 315). Smokists hide behind this flourishing concept of “passive smoking” (315) in order to freely express their intolerance towards smokers without any obvious repercussions. Smokists do not care for what smokers might think they just seek their own well being, thus King views them as practitioners of a “sadistic brutality” (316). This group of misanthropes portrays smokers as uneducated and disgusting individuals that only inspire the vilest of emotions from the rest of the superior Americans. Therefore, many of the smokist’s campaigns only inspire that.
My future plans are to graduate university, earn my CPA designation and work for one of the big 5 banks or one of the big 4 accounting firms. The Business Administration program at Laurier will help me achieve my future career plans by teaching me about current information that can be applicable in today’s society. Wilfrid Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics is prestigious and highly recognized, being accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business, CPA, and winning more accounting gold medals than the other universities

Why do we think is climate change so essential? Global climate change is now recognised as one of the foremost environmental challenge of the 21st century and there are very strong evidences for human influence on climate change through emissions of green house gases (like carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, methane from other sources). Climate change is essential for health in two main ways- first, it is now necessary to learn to adapt to climate change as some degree of climate change appears inevitable and there is a need to consider how to protect the population against its adverse impacts. Secondly, there is much a need to mitigate which means to reduce the human impact of climate change through reduction of green house gases, changes in energy use, transportation sector (reducing toxic air pollution)1.
