Drake was born on October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Canada. He was the world’s only black jewish-Canadian rapper. His father was a drummer for Jerry Lee Lewis. His parents divorced when he was 5 years old, he was raised by his mother. He was on Canadian teen drama tv show called Degrassi. HIs first mixtape was released 2006 and sold 6,000 copies. In 2007 he released another mixtape that he made was featured as the “New Joint of the Day” on a popular hip hop tv show. In 2008, the producers of Degrassi eliminated Drake's character. Since he didn’t have a job and he didn’t make a lot of money as a rapper, Drake was on the verge of looking for a day job. Ever since that phone call, Drake had a rapid ascent to the top of the music world. After tour with Lil Wayne, Drake released his third mixtape, So Far Gone, in 2009. It featured the catchy single "Best I Ever Had," which reached at Number 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Since then most of Drake's hip-hop songs have been radio airwaves. In 2009, he finally spoke with MuchMusic about one of his songs “Deceiving”, he talked about his ex girlfriend Chante. During the interview he said “Would I call Keshia Chante an ex? I’d be proud to say she is an ex. She’s great. She’s one of the first people in the industry that I met and we just connected.” In June 2009, he did two remixes to Chante’s song “Fallen” where he sings his love for her, on his first version he raps “Keshia, Keshia, do you remember the old us? They said we’d never be together that’s what they told us”. then on Version 2, he raps “you just hold it down for your boy until the plaques arrive, that’s why I love you.” Drake has reached great heights in his rap career and he continues to create and dominate the world of hip
