The organization is a missionary healthcare organization offering relatively free and cheap healthcare to the needy members of the society. There major focus is to help the society manage and control the health detrimental diseases including the cancers and malaria. For the interview, I had approached one of the healthcare practitioners from the departments of the breast cancer screening and treatment. The interview is senior worker having worked with organization for over twenty-five years. His name is Doctor Smith currently serving the organization consulting doctor and in charge of all the admission and discharge of patients. Dr. Smiths plays the key of making key technical decisions in the treatment of patients particularly those suffering from breast cancer. The interviewee reported that the lung cancer was the most frequently reported malignancy among the male patients attending the organization with the cancer cases. He added that, this was closely followed by the cancer of larynx and oral cavity. For the female on the other side, Dr. Smith told that breast is the most common area or site for cancer among the female population. In the interview, Dr. Smith attributed the high prevalence of cancer to the exposure to harmful substance such as tobacco as well as other environmental carcinogens.
In his response to the question on the availability of cancer control strategies and programs, Dr. Smith told that so far there has not been comprehensive cancer control strategy put in place until of late. He however admitted that the previous and existing effort associated with the prevention and control of cancer diseases within the organization have been mainly focused on the process of registration of cancer and also setting up of cancers registry
