“We were bombing Hamburg, Germany, that day. Didn’t have any fighter opposition, but we were hit with flak at 27,000 feet. The hit set the plane on fire. There was a hole in the wing I could have crawled through.” recalled Leonard Kessinger during an early 1990’s interview for the Dailey Telegraph in Princeton W.V.
The Oklahoma City bombing of the Murrah building took place on April 19, 1995 by a 24-year-old army veteran, by the name of Timothy McVeigh and up until the 9-11 attack in New York City, was the worst terrorist attack on U.S soil. It took the lives of 168 people, leaving another 509 injured. McVeigh planned his attack for the date of the second anniversary of the governments assault near Waco. The raid in Waco ended unsuccessfully with six Branch Davidians and four federal agents dead. The Oklahoma bombing meant nothing more to him than pure revenge, his only goal was vengeance and he felt merely nothing.
The unfortunate event that took place on April 19, 1995 was a day that would change history throughout the nation in an unimaginable way due to the tragic circumstances that unfortunately unfolded. The Oklahoma City Bombing impacted the United States greatly because something of such devastation had never before occurred in this way up until that point in American history. This in fact would be an event that no one anticipated, no one knew anything of, but it would certainly be an eye opening day and a call for change.
Terry Nichols received life in prison. “Until September 11, 2001, the Oklahoma City bombing was the worst terrorist attack to take place on U.S. soil.”A bomb carried in a Ryder truck exploded in front of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City at 9:02 a.m. on April 19, 1995. “The blast killed 168 people, including 19 children. More than 500 people were injured.Timothy J. McVeigh and Terry L. Nichols were convicted of the attack.” Just because, one person messing around caused an accident, this wasn’t supposed to happen. This accident was so bad we have lost many people. It’s very upsetting to the people that was lost the members and i’m sure were very angry.
President George W. Bush delivered a televised address from the Oval Office at approximately 7 p.m. on the day that shook America , declaring, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”(“9/11 ATTACKS”) In a reference to the eventual U.S. military response he declared, “We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.”(“9/11 ATTACKS”)Operation Enduring Freedom, the American-led international effort to oust the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and destroy Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network based there, began on October 7th. Within two months,
The modern day suicide bomber is effective in the sense that they do cause fear and death but is greatly overused that they rarely become news worthy. Immediately after the 9/11 attacks, the suicide bomber became all the rage and the ultimate fear of Americans. After ten years of war in the Middle East and Southwest Asia, the suicide bomber is cliché to the terrorist ideology and borderline boring and expected. Terrorists want to cause fear in a sense that causes a domino effect of destruction. Though the suicide bomber is effective, there is nothing more effective than the use of a biological attack in a crowded area. It is quiet, lethal and takes a long time to detect the source and even longer time to trace it back to a suspect. Within
Prior to the terror attacks of September 11th on the twin towers, life was far different than its current regime. The Unites States wasn’t officially involved in any wars, few Americans had ever heard of al-Qaeda or Osama bin Laden, and ISIS was inexistent. We deported half the number of people we do today. Our surveillance state was a fraction of its current size and, astonishingly, you didn’t have to take your shoes off at the airport. The terror attacks prompted new attitudes and concerns about vigilance and safety, bringing forth new policies that prioritized national security and defence like the USA Patriot Act. These new attitudes have shaped the American people into a different state of mind, one that is constantly suspicious of someone of the muslim origin, leaving openings for the unsuspected people, the ones from home.
We’re almost in to remember the horrific tragedy on our America soil that resulted in 3,000 people lost their lives and 2337 were injured, 343 firefighters and 75 police officers were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon.
As a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, most Americans have a general knowledge about terrorism. The U.S. military has been at war for around a decade, continuing the concentration of the media and politicians on Middle Eastern countries and terrorist groups. Consequently, the focus of the nation tends to remain on international terrorist groups rather than domestic terrorist groups. There is a vast amount of terrorism groups in America, including the Army of God, the Aryan Nations, and the Animal Liberation Front, who possess extreme ideals and exist for different reasons. The fact that there are numerous terrorist groups that are composed of American citizens performing tremendous acts of violence within the U.S. seems to go somewhat unnoticed by the general public.
There is a lot of bad media that contributes to this every time there is a mass bombing first thing people think of is, Oh a Muslim did this but when it's not a Muslim and ends up being a white person they say he was a lone wolf a troubled child that had a dark past but when it's a black person they media blames the race and when it's a Muslim the media says blame the entire religion and destroy what it stands for.
Terrorizing bomb threats struck the first Jewish community center (JCC) early January, in Albany, New York and since then, nearly 105 centers have been threatened and evacuated. It isn't clear who is behind the attacks, but government intelligence suspects that modern anti-Semitic hate groups, such as the well funded American Nazi Party, though no proof has surfaced. Confirmed bomb threats forced evacuations in Jewish Community Centers and Day Schools, which house hundreds of children per day, in North Carolina, Delaware, Canada, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, Florida, even Utah.
The term nymphomaniac has been used for centuries. Nymphomania was believed to be an organic disease during the mid-eighteenth-century. The rise of nymphomania was the result of a patriarchic society attempting to dominate and control female sexuality. The concept is now engraved into pop-culture as it is incorporated into mass media and referred to in movies, books, television, magazines, etc. Over time, the idea and stigma surrounding it has transformed drastically.
How real do you think the terrorist threat is to the commercial sector? Explain and justify your opinion
Wherever anyone goes, anyone is vulnerable to Terrorism. Terrorism exists as an incredibly horrific and violent act, and it affects everyone that goes through it and people watching news and reading newspapers. The effects of terrorism can be extremely dangerous; sometimes it can even be deadly. “In the last of a couple of years around 50 terrorist attacks have been in the United States and Around 200 in the world” (Barrett), just last week there was an attack on the London bridge. ISIS even has claimed that they planned the attack. For anybody that doesn't know who ISIS is they are a terrorist organization that people say " They are upon extreme than Al-Qaida or any other terrorist group in the world"(Tran). Terrorism affects the world in so many ways, and it isn't pretty. As People that travel a lot read the
