Taken away , from wondrous lands that once were my own to roam and freely enjoy with the others of my kind. It’s all destroyed , nothing was spared, not a single tree, flower, vine,or blade of grass . It feels bare as I glide past tall buildings that are vacant with stories about large creatures talking and laughing gibberish. As I push my wings further into the ghastly wicked houses, giggles grow louder and louder until… BOOM a loud crash echoed through the eerie hallways. I am now no longer fluttering my delicate blue wings, I am harshly whipping them until my left wing begins to tear and I hurdle to the ground . This is where things get horrifying. When I stand up on my twig-like ash legs covered with blue, black, and purple sparkling stockings

It was a fun day in New York at Yankees stadium The Home team (My favorite baseball team) the New York Yankees were up against the Toronto Blue Jays. I was wearing my Aaron Judge shirt sitting in my seat when the game started the first two innings was scoreless. Second, Aaron Judge comes up with two guys on base and hits a double scoring both runs. Then, I look at the jumbotron and see Aaron’s calm smiling face. The next few innings was intense the Yankees and the Blue Jays battle for the lead. Next, the seventh inning stretch comes around and we all rise from our seats and sing.

“The Butler Way demands commitment, denies selfishness, accepts reality, yet seeks improvement everyday while putting the team above self (“Butler”).” The preceding quote is the motto for the entire Butler University Athletics department. Every team, player, and faculty member must adhere to it if they want to be in Butler Athletics. The general idea of the quote is referred to as the Butler Way. One of the Butler teams that showcases this Butler Way is the Men’s Basketball team. The Butler basketball team, otherwise known as the Butler Bulldogs, has achieved great success in the sport of College Basketball.

It is my opinion that HBCU’s certainly do remain not only relevant, but also necessary. HBCU’s were originally established due African American’s pursuit of an education and the acquiring a piece of the “American Dream” was thwarted by racial segregation. HBCU’s provided our young men and women with an education and developed future leaders. The very essence of their existence bestow black people with a positive identity, a safe nurturing haven for learning where their expression of emotional, mental and spiritual being need not be altered, changed, distorted or parodied for the purpose of assimilation to another’s race, culture or socially acceptable standards.
Before the 1880s, the are of eastern Brooklyn that was to become Brownsville was known as New Lots. This territory was primarily farmland, but it was also the location of the city’s largest waste dump, as well as the site of several facilities that supplied stone and other building materials. In its early history, New Lots had a diverse population. English and Irish settlers, Jewish immigrants, and a small number of African-Americans farmed the land. Others were attracted to the area by the open space and relatively fresh fresh air it provided. Brownsville at one time was a place for waste-disposal, a tenement slum, a haven for Jews before they were accepted, the cradle of a major crime origination, a testing-ground for public-housing and
Blue Lives Matter The United States has reached a period of hate and crime over our law enforcement and it has spread like a wildfire throughout the Nation! American citizens have lost faith and respect for the people that protect and enforce our laws to keep this country safe. Being a police officer is a dangerous job that requires lots of courage. The men and women who bravely wear blue put their lives on the line every single day to keep crime off of the streets so that our country is safe to live in.
The Prairie Meadows Scholarship will help me to pursue an education at the University of Iowa. With the money given I would use it to earn a degree in engineering or a degree dealing something with the law. My favorite subjects in High School were math and science. My whole life math has always come easy to me and for some odd reason I have a passion for math. During my Junior year of High School I took my second physics class and gained an interest in physics. Besides math and science, when I was a young boy I always dreamed of becoming a police detective, I used to run around the house pretending I was getting all of the “bad guys”. Now a days I also find being a lawyer fun and intriguing. I plan on earning my degree and graduation college.
Like how seasons are the changes on land, they can also be apply to oceans in temperate latitudes. The most productive seas on the planet are the seasonal seas because they border the temperate parts of the world where conditions change throughout the year. The power of the sun is constantly changing; hence there are different seasons even under the seas due to the different in sunlight radiation. In the far north, summers are warm and gentle, while winters are wracked by savage storms. Sable Island, southeast of Nova Scotia in the Atlantic Ocean is home to the world’s largest colony of gray seal, about 100,000 seals come to breed here each year. The climate at this location is heavily influenced by the sea and being located in the path of major frontal storms and cyclones, precipitation is high. Around March, the seas have warmed enough to trigger phytoplankton to appear. Phytoplankton is tiny algae, each smaller than a pinhead. During this time of the year, phytoplankton reproduces with an amazing speed and produces more annual growth than all the parts on land together. They
In today’s society, a good quality education is an important and valuable necessity. As a college student at Lone Star College, my college experience has greatly influenced me in an enormous amount of ways. By attending college, I have not only had a chance to receive a quality education and degree, but also an opportunity to socialize and interact with various people from different cultures. In addition, the professors on campus have been extremely helpful towards teaching me to succeed in both inside and outside the class room. Furthermore, my college experience at Lone Star has greatly influenced and encouraged me to be successful and achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.
I would like to become a Blue Streak Ambassador because I want to help other people through venues I am passionate about. I love John Carroll and Saint John’s Jesuit, my college and high school respectively. However, my most passionate area in my life is helping friends younger than I through their college application process.
You sit reclined in the cockroach infested darkness on a bed that is not yours, but you find that actually, it is far comfier than the one that you try to sleep on back home. In your own bed, the rusty springs that dig deep into your ribs serve as a welcome reminder of cold reality as your mind swims in the black waters of blissful agony. Here women scream, children scream but best of all the men scream in a high-pitched symphony of beautifully poised terror.
Sorry fellow reader, I know all I've been writing about is forensic but it's part of my life. So in forensics this weekend I won a blue ribbon. I have no idea why I won a blue ribbon, but somehow I impressed the judges that bad. Any way it was hard to get a blue ribbon I had to add more moves and more expression. The first judge was pretty nice, but then when it came to the second round I was scared of the judge. During the round I keep thinking my number was 21P1 but my number was actually 31P1. All the kids stared at me the whole time, even when I was just sitting in my chair. Then we got on the bus to get our ribbons. We all got our ribbon Yasmeen didn't want to know what she got sowe closed her ears and eyes and then told her she got a
The tulips were the same as I remembered a long time ago; a dark purple like the night sky, and I used to enjoy looking at them, but over time I got tired of it. The air stings my nose, but this isn’t an uncommon thing, I never was much of an outdoor person anyways. I look at my house and notice the bricks that he laid up halfway the wall, and the columns he was so proud of making all those years ago. I look at all this and it makes me sad in a way, for all the good times I’ve had in the past; I know those days will never come back. The wind picks up getting stronger, meanwhile the grass plays gently with the blades moving back and forth along with the trees as if it was a symphony of some
