Can challenges profoundly change others in the world? Or can they even change history? In “Blindly He Goes… Up” and “Versabraille”, one major challenge that Erik and Jim both face is wanting others to be proud of them. Despite that challenge they face and or initially faced, they have amazing qualities that they share together in facing their challenges in life. Overall, a couple of qualities that they both share are being potential driven individuals and individuals who are change creators. Being potential driven individuals is one quality that those two individuals share. Erik shows that he has a potential driven quality when he climbed the summit of Mount Everest. He shows himself to be a potential driven individual given that he wanted
obstacles they attempt to overcome on their way to bring their hopes and dreams to reality.
People that are able to over come challenges in their life are the ones we most often see succeed in life. They are the ones that have the most determination and drive to put their best foot forward and the capabilities to make it in the real world where you cant let a little thing take you down. In The Boys in the Boat, all of the boys over come many obstacles but the person that over comes the challenges the best and has the most drive to push forward was Joe Rantz.
The world has gone through a series of changes. Change is usually made by a certain individual who goes against the tide. This change is shown through the characters in many works and real life experiences. People who repersent change are Huckelburry Finn, Burtrum Cates,Drummond,George and Martin Luther King Jr.As stated by multiple people, “It is only through adversity that that ones charactor is established and ones commitment is revealed.”
The video quotes, “Individuals are afraid of succeeding because of fear” (Mateusz, Brown, Thomas, & Smith, 2013). This quote captured my attention upon my initial viewing of the video titled, “Dream: Motivational Video,” because of the boldness it projected to the audience. The speech is approximately six minutes and was published on July 2, 2013. It provides the audience with a background on how they should make their dreams real. Although obstacles will develop when we are trying to fulfill dreams—the purpose is to separate from negativity and dream big. Even though the fear of failure overtakes our mind, we cannot allow the fear to deter us from living out our dream. Finally, the speech uses clips from movies titled, Into The Wild, Rocky 4, Seven Pounds, Pursuit of Happyness, and A Beautiful Mind that are inspirational and encouraging. For that reason, this synopsis examines the effectiveness of motivational speaking against the concepts that are found in Bateman and Snell’s text to propose that communication, motivating and inspiring people are essential to being an effective leader.

In Erik Erikson’s theory he explains that in every stage, a positive or a negative attitude is developed within an individual. During our developing stages we are either successful or we fail. Each stage will come to us whether or not we’re ready for them or not. You can think of the stages as learning stages where crisis occur .Only if we have learned from the previous crisis we are successful. You cannot avoid 1 stage and move to a next stage because of the developing process. The outcome of our lives depends on the way we chose to progress throughout each stage in life. Erikson had his own way in describing each stage in life that we all must go through.
One of the stages in his theory was ego identity; he believed that we develop this consciously as we begin to develop through social interaction. Erik Erikson believed that our ego identity changed on a daily basis which was changed through experiences, interactions and information we gained. He also believed that as we begin to develop, our ego identity could improve or slow down. Erikson believed that each stage the child/adult needs to be competent in that certain are of life, if not, they will feel they lack in the area.
This also plays into Erikson’s ideas that environmental factors shape and influence a person’s development. Following Erikson’s psychosocial theory, these two won’t step out of the adolescence and young adult stage of development until they solve the crisis of “Who am I,” which will fuel their decisions for some years to
If you have the ability to change your whole way of thinking of your life and to change your attitude from bad to good it is the whole reason why people become great people .When you have a bad attitude, your whole life not going your way and to just change your aspect on life is a huge step in the right direction and that is what Dare learned in this story, by Laura and Ty trying to help him to get in the right path his life he finally chose it because now he knows at least some people in this world actually care if get hurt or accomplished something significant. Dare, Laura are great examples of change because in the story they all have there way changing but it is all different some way shape or form and they all help each other change in some
Erik Erikson believed that personality developed in a sequence of stages. His concept chronicles the significance of social experience throughout a lifetime. Erikson wanted to know how social interaction and relationships were connected to the function in the development and advancement of human beings. Ego identity is one of the essential components of Erikson's theory. Ego identity is the conscious awareness of identity that we develop through social interaction. Our ego identity is constantly changing as we have new experiences. As we progress in each stage of development, we deal with new situations that can either expand or impede our
Ego Integrity vs Despair – Is the Final stage of Development in Erikson Theory. Most individuals at this stage will be retired or getting ready to retire. There children are adults and they are possible grandparents. They reflect on previous years to inventory the fruitfulness
Erik developed a sense of being extraordinary and Friedman (1999) said that it was facilitated by “the pervasive love and essential stability of his childhood milieu, even with the deceptions, and by the willingness of those closest to him to let him develop his talents and choose his own life course” (p. 28). His mother Karla encouraged a spirit of independence and Erik recalled during these discussions that she promoted a “certain sense of choice—and the right to search” (Friedman, 1999, p. 36). It was this independence and the search for his
Erikson concentrated on personal part and argued that uniqueness of individual is major for evolvment of identity.Eriksons psychosocial theory focus on process of shaping identity within individuals rather than within society.
The case study covers the leadership which is linked to the authenticity of the leader. Additionally, in the case study, it was clear that Sally Helgesen didn’t have sufficient self-awareness specifically, in the starting of her journey.
